This hotel is fine for a stop off when the location works but be prepared for below standard amenities. Comfortable bed but pillows very lumpy. Room is spacious and functional, we were prepared for the dates decor. The shower is only warm, never hot. Toilet roll thinner than I knew existed. Only 1 coffee pod in room for 2 people, 2 nights. No room clean or new towels until we called to ask for them. This should be made clear on check in. Paper plates at breakfast & plastic cutlery, this is a first for me 😂 Breakfast may be free but might be worth giving it a miss. You couldn’t really get any more budget if you tried. 3 star… not sure.

Only stayed for one night. The parking is minimal. There were many homeless people begging outside the door. Check in was quick and easy. The room was very spacious and appeared to be clean. The ac doesn't cool the room well and being very close to the top floor was not very comfortable. There was no hotel information in the room and had to call the front desk numerous times before they picked up to ask where the ice machines were. Was told they have bags of ice in the lobby. No scoops to get ice, I was lucky the bag was brand new. The cable lost signal. The front desk said they were resetting it but it never came back on. Be sure to bring some snacks or drinks because there is no vending for those late night snack attacks. Hopefully the breakfast won't be disappointing.

Unfortunately this is more about the hiring of outside vendors. I’m a professional violinist, and I contacted Hotel Floridan offering an exchange in good faith. Casey, their Catering Manager, got back to me eagerly to accept my offer to provide FREE music for an event in exchange for being CONTRACTED for countless future events they claimed to be planning. She even offered me an opportunity to be their “house violinist” and added to the events package with my contact information. After taking an hour of my day to tour the hotel and meet with her, I agreed to play for a City of Tampa event. It was 2 hours, and much longer than I had intended the offer to cover, but I had not clarified that ahead of time, so I did not backtrack. I arrived early to the event and was asked to start playing early, totaling my work time at about 2.5 hours. I placed my business cards on the welcome table at the event, but found out they had been put in an office before the event even finished. I am aware I made the first offer, but it’s really disheartening that my services were used for a very important event, I was not compensated, I was never contacted again, and I was never added to any events package. Although she seems like a very nice person with good intentions, I urge places like this not to exploit artists, small businesses, or outside vendors. It’s insulting and the creative economy as a whole takes a hit from it.

Rooms spacious for a small hotel room was clean, tub needs more TLC had dried paint in it. No one answered the front desk phone each time I called. The elevator at check out time took 10 min only one elevator was running (please check that out) also 1st day water ran warm then was hot the next day.

Honestly I was very impressed by the service, the room and of course the view. Had an amazing time here! It’s under renovation at the moment but nothing bad about it. The restaurant on the first floor was amazing too, the food, the drinks and the friendly service! Would definitely gonna come back!

No sign on the front of building. Pop-up tent outside was only sign ONLY valet parking - $40 charge! Initially charged $50 destination charge (for a shuttle we werent using AND the shuttle only included 3 mile radius). They only removed this charge after we questioned it. Took 3 people to find out how to adjust volume on TV remote control. If you leave you car for a cruise, it is a $50 per day charge. Construction going on with noise. View from the window was scaffolding. Person at front desk had an extreme language barrier. To enter hotel we passed other people that had circled the building more than once. All doors had signs "Do Not Enter" and "Danger". Some of the doors were for a bar or restaurant - meaning it was extremely difficult to find the entrance to the hotel. Upon entry there was no front desk - only 3 elevators with no instructions to denote lobby/front desk. Additionally only ONE of the elevators worked. Exposed sprinkler heads were loose with chipped unpainted concrete. The light switch for the bathroom section that includes the toilet and bath/shower is in an external room. That means if you want to use the toilet without turning on the light and waking your spouse, you can't. It also means someone else can turn out your lights When bathing/showering/using the bathroom without your control or choice. When we cruised from New Orleans we stayed at a Holiday Inn and Suites that was $79 per night and included a full breakfast. Hotel Flora charged me $302 dollars PLUS the additional $40 valet charge (and valet is mandatory as confirmed by the staff). Apparently there is no included parking for the hotel. There was also no breakfast included. Our $79 hotel was exponentially better than this $306 hotel - including condition of the room, accessibility, amenities, parking and customer service. We would NEVER consider staying at this hotel again. Basically for the price of this hotel, we could have purchased a 5 day cruise that includes everything! EXTREMELY disappointing!! If I could give a negative number review, I would.

After being denied a reservation at another hotel at 3am and stuck 12 hours from home, Nathan at the front desk was extremely accommodating and helpful in getting us into a room as soon as possible. The room was nice, the only issue was that we would occasionally have to leave the water running for a 5-10 minutes to get it hot. Other than that, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay! my gf is a housekeeper at a hotel in ky and we had no complaints there was a spot on the front of the dresser where it was sticky from someone spilling a drink but other than that the room was clean. The AC was also very strong 👍

Everything here is antiquated and the quality is downright poor. No thoughts put into much. No blinds in the room, not enough accessible plugs in the room, towels feel like they are 20 years old, hot water takes 10 minutes to warm up, no basic toiletries, toilet paper is sandpaper, chairs are sunken and it feels like sitting on wooden toilet seat, eat the continental breakfast at your own risk. Didn’t find the staff overly friendly. Never again….

This hotel was the highlight of our stay in Tampa. From the moment we walked in the door Rhonda made us feel like family, it’s rare to receive such incredible friendly service like what we experienced at this hotel. The decor was breathtaking and incredibly clean, beds were extremely comfortable and the linen a much higher quality than most hotels on our trip. The bar and food were great, the hot breakfast was wonderful also. Donna behind the bar was so much fun and we ended up staying there for hours. A HUGE thank you to all the staff for everything……especially Rhonda who went completely out of her way to make sure we had such an enjoyable stay, thank you so much❤️❤️❤️

Good morning, I am Hugo Jimenez Vazquez and I booked this hotel one month ago for two nights. I am in room 1412 and checked in on 5/19/23 through 521/23. So far the experience at the Floridian Palace Hotel has been not very good regarding the house keeping service. They did not change towels , bath supplies, made beds or take the trash out. When I came back last night from Bush Garden Park the room was not clean and fresh as one expected and when I talked to the front desk about it, she told me that when I checked in I told her that I did not wanted house keeping. That is not the truth, she never asked me that. I expected house keeping service is a standard service in this hotel as well as in other hotels I have been before. Finally I got towels and bath supplies at the front desk at 11 pm. There is no Ice machine in the floor and they did not supplied the machine in the lobby with enough bags. It is ridiculous. Also the parking is a problem. It is small and the perimeter is not secured from the lots of homeless people around the area. Breakfast was good but the service was bad, there were dirty plates and the silverware was not enough as well as the tables in the dining area Once again very disappointed of this hotel room service

The staff is incredibly friendly. The gentleman at the front desk and maintenance obviously care a lot. The building itself is beautiful and a lot of the old charm is visible. The rooms leave so much to be desired. I may have picked a busy day, as our rate was around $250 a night for a king bed. For this price, I expected a lot more. The room felt stale, there is no central air in the rooms and the individual AC did not work. The maintenance guy came and reset the unit, which made it slightly better, but the unit isn’t sufficient for the room. The mattress may as well have been plywood. Both the parking lot and overflow parking lot were full which meant parking a few blocks away in the middle of the night. It’s about a mile away from channelside, so not ideal for walking to and from a game. We considered the free hot breakfast, but upon seeing what was available ended up going out for breakfast.

The Good: Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Lobby is well cared for, pretty, and comfortable. Room was clean. Restaurant was delicious and bartenders were friendly and engaged with customers while still being efficient. The Bad: Billed as historic, but really just sort of old and run down. Rooms were clean, but bed was VERY hard and TV didn't work properly. Most channels gave a "no signal" error. I called and someone immediately came and fixed it, but then in less than 30 minutes it started happening again. I didn't want to be a pain so I didn't call again. Continental breakfast just ok... standard fair, not super tasty.

This is a historic property built in 1929. Loving architecture, I was excited to stay here. Positives: the staff at the hotel all do their best to provide a positive experience. Negatives: the owner of the hotel is not keeping it maintained properly. We received a free upgrade to a suite (awesome!), but a few of the windows in the room were broken. The solution was to place stickers over the broken glass (as opposed to replacing the broken glass panes). There were obvious drywall repairs, but they neglected to paint over the drywall repairs. A few of the curtains weren’t hanging properly because the hooks were broken. The treadmill was non-functional. The other reviewers mentioned homeless people and poor parking situations. Those are accurate. Lot 1 is really tight - your car will get dinged. Lot 2 has more room, but people don’t pay attention to the lines. $8 per night if you pay the lot (via QR code) as opposed to $30/night if you pay the hotel. The homeless people around the hotel (at least 30+) generally left everyone alone.

Absolutely terrible. Where to begin. This is my second and final time staying here. The lady that once helped me on the phone with a refund (she had an accent I recall), and made my experience so pleasurable, which made me come back for a second stay was no longer there. The room was hot, the front desk associate didn’t do anything to change my room even after I complained multiple times. I had no hot water and the neighbors next to me were overly loud. I tried the new bar downstairs that opened. It took them forever for a simple dish on a not busy night and they even gave me the wrong drink. Definitely not coming back.

My sister and I recently stayed at the hotel. The staff was great. Jeff, who helped shuttle us to dinner at a nearby restaurant, was very kind. The ladies at the front desk upon arrival and checkout, Angelina being one of them, were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very spacious and we loved the decor. We understood that they were still renovating, so minor issues we were able to overlook. Just kinks that need to be worked out. If you want to experience a glimpse of the past, this hotel's decor and commitment to keeping it as authentic as possible, will not disappoint you.

Below average on amenities, not even an exercise gym for exercise gym for when it's cold outside. no pool. Front desk would not answer the phone. There is homeless people living behind the hotel. There is a wall built of 3 feet that should be extended to protect the clients. There wasn't a refrigerator available in my room for my diabetic supplies. We stayed for a week the mattress was very uncomfortable and our backs aches on getting up. The 3 nights we stayed there was a bright light shining into our room like a spot light lighting up the room like daylight, shining into our eyes the drapes couldn't be closed. The parking gave us a warning altho we had given the license plate for the stay. The breakfast staff of the 1st 3 days was better than that if our last morning.. my wife has a cheese allergy and on our first day we were able to eat eggs without cheese. On our last day we advised of the allergy and no eggs provided for her. There was no orange juice nor apple juice machine ran out of oj not reloaded, the toaster doesn't work for the bread.

A hotel that has great potential, just poor standards, service and experience. For the pros. Location is amazing, close to a lot of nightlife in downtown Tampa. Hotel is currently being renovated, it has a nice charm to it. And being updated will do it some good. Has a cool restaurant attached to it and also a coffee shop coming soon. And now the cons. During our 4 day/3night stay, a false alarm went off each day. The worst being on my last night at 4am where we were told to exit our rooms but not use the elevator or emergency stairwell. All fine until no updates were provided.(other alarms a text was sent to say it was a false alarm) this continues for the next 25 minutes. Until someone finally found out it was a false alarm. And everyone went back to the rooms. Next con is the 30/ a night parking. Steep, but it’s downtown I thought, until I realized it’s a street behind and unsecured location. People just parking whenever they want, parking lot not even secured in any type of way. No fence, no security. And parking lot is beat up. Next to the room, upon check in, room keys did not work. Tv channels are local, not a big deal but not the standard for even cheap hotel rooms now days. Room was spacious, bed was hard. And at night to shower, for hot water it take about 10 minutes to heat up. Complimentary breakfast was tasteless, overcooked bacon/eggs/sausage. 2 hotel elevators worked out of the 3, and they were small since it was an old building. So expect to wait if it’s busy. Then for safety, I slipped off a step where the stone step came off with me. No staff who witnessed checked on me and it was up to me and another person to try and put it back since it was a heavy stone. Overall this hotel can be amazing but currently it is a waste of money, with no staff seeming to care.

We came for 3 nights and the hotel was beautiful. It looked like a real palace. The furniture was more antic for sure but I like the old clean aesthetic. The service was amazing and they were always kind and willing to help with any of our needs. The breakfast was even more spectacular. So many options of fresh warm food and a person there that manages the food and set up in the morning. There was also a separate coffee/tea table where we could make it however we want. The room was always very clean and again the furniture fit theme very well. It was very exciting to find the fridge inside an antic cabinet. The TV had a wide variety of channels we could choose as well. Great for kids, family, or personal. Although there was constructions going on in and outside the building, it hasn’t gotten in the way of our enjoyment in any way so we didn’t mind. After the construction is over it’ll even be more amazing than it already is.

This Hotel uses classic "Bait & switch" tactics. They tell you before you get there it's a "deposit". Then when you go to check out it turns into a fee. The Rooms and the Building are in very good shape for their age. I have NO CLUE how it is NOT a Safety issue when 2/3 of the Elevators don't work. The price that they are charging versus what you receive is RIDICULOUS.

currently staying here and the place is gorgeous no doubt. The free breakfast is nice and the rooms are decent. The building is undergoing construction which is understandable for a 100 year old building. The problem is parking. The parking that seems available is the lot directly behind the hotel but it is under construction. A few cars are scattered throughout the lot. Turns out that's not where you're allowed to park. The parking you pay $30 a night for is across the street adjacent to a transient camp/bus stop. Keep in mind this lot you have to park in is not gated and costs $30 A NIGHT. I can see 15 a night but 30 is asking a little much considering the location. The photo I attached is the point of view from the lot under construction. The cars across the street are where we're supposed to park. I also shared my concern and frustration with the front desk and was brushed off. Now THAT was frustrating

The Floridan Palace is super clean, absolutely stunning, and efficiently run! I felt like, and was treated like, royalty. Stay there and you'll be surrounded by elegance everywhere, down to the carved bedroom furniture and bathroom marble walls and floor! The lobby is fantastic; it feels like a grand ballroom. Staying there is truly like going back in time. Great views of downtown Tampa from every room. I want to thank Marie and especially Elena for making sure my stay was perfect in every way.

Beautiful Old Florida hotel. It's been restored but is starting to wear around the edges. I'm sure the pandemic didn't help, but for the relatively high price, is expect a more full-service stay. They aren't doing housekeeping, nominally because of covid but realistically it's probably due to staffing. As best as I can tell, the restaurant closed and hadn't reopened. Early check in fee is excessive and parking cost is also high. Maybe they don't own the lot? Overall, a pretty expensive night in a beautiful space without much service.

I stayed here previously and it was an exquisite step back in time. Friends were visiting recently and we met up. Hilton has purchased it and "remodeled". They took away so much of what made it look grand, historic, and beautiful - they painted the gprgeous coffered ceilings WHITE, just all over white. It's an odd and ugly choice. I wish these major corporations would stop erasing the city's rich history.

This place is a little kept secret in Tampa and I truly don't know why they aren't more busy. I love this place so much! We had our Halloween party here and everything went so fantastic, the food was great, the drinks made by Donna were tasty, the staff were sincere and friendly (especially Casey and Crystal), and the hotel rooms were historic and comfy. We plan on having a annual Halloween party there every year. I 100% recommend this hotel and location, especially if your into history!

I was born and raised in Tampa and never knew this place existed until I found it on DayUse.com What a pleasant surprise! The staff is super friendly, I spoke with Nicole. She was very friendly and helpful. The structure itself is well maintained. Inside is breath taking! The establishment is super clean. The rooms are simple, yet very clean and well maintained. I will definitely return.

Walls are paper thin and windows are from 2 centuries ago (haven't been cleaned either) so get ready to hear literally everything around you. Hot water? Not a luxury you can afford here Cockroaches - plenty, don't even bother to count Oh and a cherry on the top are the fraudulent charges that you will have to deal with for weeks after your stay You are literally better off sleeping in the street

I always stay at this hotel when I come down for the conventions in the area. A beautiful old building with a rich history and a largely preserved classical aesthetic. Faculties are, of course, modernized, offering all the expected amenities for a comfortable stay. Can't recommend enough.

Gorgeous - from the entrance to the building to the rooms everything is simply historical and unique. The front agent Fernando was amazing, very helpful! He informed us of all the amenities in the hotel. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to everyone!

Absolutely Stunning. They definitely invest back into the hotel. They keep up with it so nicely. It takes you back in time and it's so so elegant. I felt like royalty. The view was awesome, and the room was so so clean. We absolutely loved the natural stone all over and the details are so interesting and thorough. The staff is so kind and helpful. Such sweet people. We loved the stay and is very much worth it. Also, breakfast was fantastic. We will be back for sure!

We arrived, the hotel is under heavy construction, no big deal, but would've been nice to know. We check in, hotel keys don't work. The television only has 30 basic channels that no one watches. There was a giant screw in the middle of the floor that I found by walking around without shoes on. The beds are hard as a rock. My cousins room is hot, they go to the front desk and ask for someone to check it out, apparently nothing is wrong. My room got down to 60, theirs didn't get lower than 75. They also wouldn't allow them to change rooms. We receive multiple texts that the alarms that were heard in the hotel were a false alarm, we weren't there to experience those but are you kidding? The complimentary breakfast is nasty tasting eggs and overcooked sausage patties. The parking fee is $30 a night to park a street away in an unsecured parking lot, because their actual parking lot is housing all of their construction material. It’s also immediately next to a camp of homeless people. Certain places in the hotel were not air conditioned and it was awful. My fiancé was walking down a set of stairs and the marble came off of the stair and he almost fell. The breakfast staff that witnessed this barely even checked in to see if he was alright. Then they left it and let another woman almost fall down the exact same stairwell. Then last night a blaring alarm starts going off at 4 am. It states to move into the hallway but do not exit through the fire exits. No one updates us, even after 20 MINUTES of the alarm blaring, and everyone just heads back to their rooms anyway. We didn't get back to sleep until well after 5 am. Come to find out it was a false alarm and the alarm was glitching out and wasn't able to be turned off. Did they offer a late checkout? No, but you can upgrade to one for $50. This is the worst hotel stay l've ever had.

A great and historic hotel. If you like the sense of history and authentic art deco from when it was built, this is a good place to stay. The rooms are modernized and very comfortable. They have good WiFi.

Well, I guess I should have 100% beleived the previous comments. Arriving at the hotel was a ooohh NO. There is really no place for unloading or park while checking in ....you are literally on the street. We drove around the block twice before we figured out where the entrance door was located. It's a real mess because they are doing renovations, so the outside has scaffolds around the building, which encompass the sidewalk as well. After checking in and unloading on the street....parking was behind the hotel an entire block away from the entrance/drop off. There is an established homeless population that you have to walk pass to go back and forth to the hotel to the parking lot. Now the rooms are extra large --- Big Plus! Bathrooms are great. Service is slow (extra towels are faster picking up from the front desk). You need to request room tidy service daily. There is a refrigerator in the room .....no microwave. The microwave is located on the lobby floor. No ice machine... but ice bags are located in a freezer on the lobby floor. Complimentary breakfast is okay, nothing to brag about. The size of the room is what really gave this a 4-star. I did spend a lot of time in the room.

It's a great old hotel. It is under construction so be warned (the fire alarm went off at 4am, false alarm) there are a lot of homeless people everywhere around the hotel begging for $$ especially by parking area. But with that said very affordable room, place to eat and get drinks downstairs. Breakfast was free and delicious. Beautiful building and only a mile from convention center, couple blocks from downtown... Lots of options to eat and drink

Had a decent stay with my daughter back in July. Slacking in some parts but you can tell they're working on it Noah at the front desk was very helpful & gave us tips on fun things to do in the area, good service. Hopefully improves with the renovations but with the service I'll definitely stay again Cheers

The building and architecture and Furniture are exquisite. However when I called to ask about upgrading to a larger Suite, the woman on the phone told me that there would be a charge for checking in early. I never asked about checking in early. When I arrived and saw the view from the 16th floor in our suite, it was basically a view of the expressway. Also it looked as if our sweet had not been cleaned properly in forever. There was so much dust on the smaller television that it literally came off onto my fingers. I asked about moving to a room on the other side of the hotel and I was told there were none available. When I tried to turn on the television I found out there were only over-the-air channels available. No cable no ESPN no CNN nothing. There were also no Channel guides in the rooms, so God only knows how long they've only been offering over-the-air channels. Despite the architecture and furniture, I would not rate this hotel any higher than two stars. The staff was , but not really helpful. There did not even appear to be a gift shop in the lobby where one could purchase aspirin. Years ago I decided Best Western is a hotel chain that is dying a slow death and I definitely don't recommend staying with them. The location was good, but the amenities were nothing like what I expected.

  • 3/5 John B. 7 months ago on Google
The hotel was in the midst of a renovation which it desperately needed and once completed is sure to be a stunning piece of Tampa history brought back to life. However even though there was construction going on everywhere does not excuse charging what they do for inadequate rooms. I stayed twice but just during the dey. I have the room from 11am to 6 pm and pay $77/for the room and $18 for parking. And the ask a $50 deposit. But the end up charming my card twice for the room and once for the deposit. But I'm told I will get 138.90 back. As for the room there is a serious problem with them smelling musty. The furniture, beautiful. But one of the room I was in has one of those on the wall air units that was basically at the foot of one of the beds that dripped the entire time so a map was out of the question and the carpet was soaked. There were no USB ports anywhere and no refrigerator. I guess I just expected a little more that what I got. I will go again at the end of the renovation and see if a better review is in order. But for now it's about.a 2.5/and I'm not a picky person

I was excited to stay here from the start, with this historical building being such a landmark. I’ve always wanted to stay here and turns out my job had placed me there while in town for business! The view from my room was absolutely amazing and I loved it! During my short (two night) stay here I got to know a majority of the staff. They were all extremely hospitable and a delight to speak with. Jim, Donna, Rhonda, Marie, Karena, Johnny & the head of housekeeping (not sure her name!) were wonderful! But, I do have to give a special shout-out to Dave & Terra. Dave went out of his way, going above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. He seems to genuinely care and has excellent customer service! He also introduced me to the bartender, Terra, who is probably one of the nicest people I’ve met in my entire life. While spending time at the hotel bar I also of course had to try some food. Compliments to the chef!! (Who I also met and is very nice as well.) The chicken wings were out of this world! And house made blue cheese dressing to die for! I’m so happy that I got to stay here and that my life crossed paths with all the amazing people who are apart of this staff.

Great old hotel, beautiful building. Rooms were comfortable enough, though the mattresses are spring mattress and they didn't do a great job cleaning. Breakfast is fine.

I stayed at this hotel on January 16, 2024 due to inclement weather and flight cancellation out of Tampa. I must say that the hotel is beautiful. Very clean, and the staff was accommodating. The rooms were spacious and the decor was lovely as well. I would suggest the entrance to the hotel does not have a signage indicating the name of the hotel for transportation providers to drop off guest. Otherwise, this is a very beautiful property with a very accommodating and courteous staff. I am honored to be one of the first to enjoy the hospitality of a Hilton Hotel property. Mrs. Morris, congratulations on a job well done. Thank you for your prompt assistance in saving the day for me!

DO NOT BOOK AT THE HOTEL FLOR! The hotel will cancel your reservation last minute and "rebook" you at a non-Hilton motel-quality hotel, with no travel voucher or compensation for the cancellation. Our reservations were canceled LESS THAN 24 HOURS in advance. Despite booking far in advance, Adam Schaffer, the front desk manager, informed myself and my colleagues that "due to ongoing renovation, the hotel won't be open until later this month." Even if this excuse is true, the hotel would have had been able to calculate overbookings much further in advance than 24 HOURS before the reservation. Very disappointing that Hilton's brand has lowered to that of an undependable Airbnb host.

We stayed the last few days, and it was absolutely worth it! When we pulled up to the hotel, I wasn’t expecting much, but it was amazing. The front desk was so polite and kind, and we ended up on the 19th floor. When you step out of the elevator, it IS insanely hot in the hallways, but when you get to your room, it definitely cools down. We had a king size bed, and while it was really firm, the room itself was incredibly nice. The views were great, and the room had beautiful wooden furniture, not cheap hotel furniture. The hotel was in a great location, and we were able to walk to multiple places to eat, and the Glazer Children’s Museum is also within walking distance. It was a great bang for our buck, and we’ll absolutely stay here again. Thank you guys for the amazing stay 🩷

The room and hotel decor was beautiful! It maintained much of the time period design , which was a plus. The free breakfast was filling, including eggs, ham, biscuits, waffles, bacon, cereal, fruit, and juices. The hotel is in a PERFECT location for accessing activities, venues& transportation. The staff was accommodating and kind and very professional. I would DEFINITELY reserve there again. Cleanliness +++++

I am really looking forward to staying here again in the near future! This hotel is absolutely beautiful & clean! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Great location. I am very impressed with the quality I received for the low cost that I paid. The only personal preference I have is that the bed was too firm for me & the bedding was too thin, but I would absolutely stay again because I really enjoy the environment & experience!

We loved staying at this historical hotel in downtown Tampa. The staff is wonderful, and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the bar. The decorations are nice, and it is easy to walk to many places downtown from the hotel. The only reason I won't give it 5-stars is that the walls are very thin. We could hear a dog barking nonstop in the room next to ours, and we had to move to a different room at 11 pm at night. However, the staff did help us move and were very polite about this. The only other thing we didn't like was the breakfast. The breakfast was very basic and could use more fresh options.

The hotel itself is very, very bare minimum. I had no comforter for my bed (only a sheet and a throw blanket), no gift shop, no ice machines (bags of ice available on first floor), no vending machines. Safety was concerning as the lobby is on a separate floor from the lobby & the street level doors are always unlocked (no key required) and elevators also do not require a key card. The big save for this hotel is it's staff. I encountered numerous employees- front desk attendants, maintenance, housekeeping and all were very friendly and helpful.

Rooms clean and no complaints. breakfast a plus and included with room but below average. I received cold instant eggs and sausage patties but there was a good variety of food including coffee & tea, juices, waffles, bread, etc. I would have paid for breakfast and would have enjoyed being served on by waiter/waitress in such an elegant hotel. The Sapphire room and banquet room closed when we visited. Saw No Ghost. Parking horrible. Charged 35.00 while construction occurred. Workers should be parking across the way. It was difficult getting in and out. Homeless people adjacent to the hotel so I would not have enjoyed parking too far from the hotel. Some of the staff were attentive but didn't go above and beyond, just went through the motions. Weren't interested in answering questions that I had. Staff I tried to communicate with didn't speak English. I would probably not stay here again. This is a gem in the rough that could be much more.

An older hotel but with lots of charm, some may say a creepy haunted vibe but in a good way. The front desk staff member Nicholas was amazing, very welcoming, helpful and friendly. He even gave us an upgrade to a better room and gave us a call in the room after we settled in to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything. The room was clean, the air-conditioning good. Really enjoyed our stay here so far.

Attentive and caring staff throughout the hotel. Great scrambled eggs. Fun Sapphire Lounge with delicious food. Everyone everywhere is doing their best after 2020. Thank you for a restful stay. Thank you for the best transportation service of EVT. The Electric Vehicle Transportation is top notch. It's economical and clean. A wonderful addition to the Floridan P. & R. Evans, Birmingham

We stayed at the Floridian Palace Hotel in early February. We were in Tampa for a concert at Amalie Arena. It was a perfect location and a short, easy walk to the venue. This historical hotel has a beautiful interior, with gorgeous chandeliers and detailed woodwork, especially in the lobby. The room was clean and spacious. The room did show it’s age, but I understand it will be undergoing renovations within the next few months. Parking is available for a daily fee. The included continental breakfast was very good with various choices of hot and cold items. The staff at the Floridian Palace Hotel are wonderful! From the front desk, to the breakfast staff, maintenance staff and housekeeping staff. All were professional, friendly and accommodating. I want to give a shout-out to Jordan at the front desk and Maria in housekeeping who were so kind and patient in answering my calls when I inquired about an item I had left at the hotel. They guided me through the proper process to report my missing item. They always returned my calls and Maria kept me up to date on the progress of the search and thankfully my item was found. Overall, I had a great experience at this hotel.

I don’t care what’s around that convenient this place is not a 4 star hotel. The beds are solid as a rock. The room is somewhat lack luster. I know I shouldn’t be doing a full blown deep squat to sit on the toilet. The gym is down the restaurant is mid. I hate when places look fancy price fancy and can’t wow. One of the worst nights sleep I’ve had in a few months. If you go here just make sure you go on a website with enough time ahead that you get the discount you deserve to sleep in a place like this

The hotel is so beautiful. I love the architecture. The room was spacious and the furniture really lovely. This is a classic hotel that was built in the 1920s with a wonderful feel. Also, the staff is universally kind and helpful. We stay here every time we come to Tampa. Check out the ceiling in the ballroom and lobby! I heard that Frank Sinatra used to sing there In the lounge. And the breakfast is great. Fresh and good food. Love this place.

Beautiful old hotel carefully restored. Great downtown location within walking distance of Amalie Center and other venues and restaurants. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will stay here again the next time we come to Tampa.

Overall good experience, but a few things to note. Big spacious room. Cold fridge. Nice clean bathroom. Hot water. Dominoes right across the street so late night eats were easy to get. Didn't expect to pay $30 a night to park in the hotel parking lot. Bed was very uncomfortable, and the frame was super squeaky. I'm sure the people in the hall heard it loud and clear when we had sexy time. Also, only one elevator works. So on Sunday we had to wait 5-10 mins for the elevator or use the stairs. Overall we were satisfied, but could have been better.

UPDATE: The second morning there was fresh fruit with breakfast and fresh, hot eggs. I also appreciate that management responded quickly to this review. My second night and checkout/breakfast experience were very pleasant. Overall the hotel is nice and the staff was pleasant. However, room wasn’t cleaned properly, there was hair in the toilet and the bathroom floor was not clean. The breakfast was disappointing. The eggs got cold as air blew down on a toaster that took forever to even lightly brown the toast. There was cream cheese but no bagels. Not one piece of fruit or anything fresh. This is the sunshine state!

The hotel promises more than it lives up to. The palatial facade is deceptive as the rooms are dated and the service is so-so at best. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are also big, and the beds are nice and firm. The outside parking for 30 USD/night is a joke. The parking lots are nothing more than gravel lots without any surveillance and are fringed by a bus stop inhabited by homeless people. After being granted a late checkout at 12 PM, three seperate hotel staff came knocking at the door between 10 and 12 PM asking when we would leave the room. The service highlight was me asking for the forks at breakfast to be refilled. The cutlery was made of metal, which was a big plus. However, there were egg crumbs still in the fork basket and instead of cleaning or replacing the basket, the hotel employee dumped the fresh fork right on top of everything that was still in that basket.

Living 20 min away I’ve always wanted to visit, what better way than to book a room. Lobby:beautiful even tho upgrade is in progress. Staff: very very nice Rooms: perfect size, bed comfy &beautiful. Clean, furnished beautifully, bathroom nice, shower awesome! The air works great lol. The Dan.. very nice, a bit noisy but nice, drink was great(ate elsewhere) but menu looked great. Very nice drink menu. Love the ending touch of cotton candy(pic below). And way the receipt comes is super fun. Service was friendly & all work together. Cont. breakfast.. VERY nice. Love the real plates & silver. Eggs, bacon, fruit, cereal, waffles(make yourself) juices/milk/coffee, oatmeal … something for everyone. Pic below is in the crystal ballroom. Gorgeous ceiling. Would recommend for a get out of dodge or a romantic weekend. Close to so much down town& Ybor. Just loved it! The history is very interesting. Was hoping to see Colonel Tinker 🫣 I love it still has the old charm & original form if a lot of its orig start. It’s beautiful.

Honestly I was very impressed by the service, the room and of course the view. Had an amazing time here! It’s under renovation at the moment but nothing bad about it. The restaurant on the first floor was amazing too, the food, the drinks and the friendly service! Would definitely gonna come back!
