Great! Server Dena was great! Quick and friendly, food was freshly made and hot chocolate tasted like love!!! Also, it was very clean too.

The best breakfast spot. We forgot about them since they've been there so long. Everything was perfect, the service was great, the kitchen had our food out in no time, just a well-oiled machine. I had the "ultimate breakfast" with crispy bacon, which I set aside to eat with the pancakes, turky sausages, and a thick piece of smoky ham, which was unexpectedly delicious! A couple of eggs (over easy) and some tasty hash browns. OMG, what else do you need? Ask for coffee. They leave you a pot with everything you need, ask for sugar-free syrup, no problem. Seriously, all this was 12.99! What about a clean, comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff? It's all over the top, 5 stars, my only regret is not eating here more often, as this was our first time back in 10 yrs., if I could give them 10 stars, I would! Love this place, keep doing what you do!

"Good service great service and an affordable price!" This was a fun little lunch date. I haven't been to a Village Inn in for ever so I didn't know what to expect. We came in around rush hour and were still seated immediately. Our waitress came through and got our drink orders (strawberry lemonade and coffee) and gave us just enough time to decide what we wanted before she came back with the drinks to decide what we wanted. My girl got Eggs Florentine that she loved. I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, it was great. We are our full and then at the end we got free pie! Apparently, Wednesdays are free pie day. (We took the pie to go) We loved it all. I would recommend this place for anyone wanting to sit down and eat an enjoyable economic meal.

We came here mostly for bruch. Food was so delicious. We decided to try dinner and it was not a disappointment. The service was excellent as well. Children eat free on Mondays and Wednesdays. Wednesdays are free pie day. Can't beat that.

Garbage food. My burger was so small, looked like a McDonalds burger. It was overcooked and dry. The cheddar was shredded, no real slice of cheese. The French fries are the worst I’ve ever had at any restaurant. They do not taste good at all. The corn was freezer burnt and the onion rings weren’t cooked inside, not good. I will NEVER go back. We let the manager know when we paid our bill. So not worth the money…..AT ALL. McDonalds quarter pounder and fries kill this. We paid $45 for a grilled cheese, burger, chicken fried steak and 3 drinks.

Server was really nice and helpful. Food was average, bacon tasted old, eggs were small, the crepe of the hazelnut banana crepes is great quality but you can’t taste it because it’s 75% Nutella. What makes me not want to come back is the stench on all the cups, plates and utensils, smells like a dirty dog food bowl, fishy almost. Also, the ketchup, syrup and hot sauce bottles were all sticky to the touch. I don’t think I’ll be coming back

I want to say that the lady at the reception was so nice yesterday I think her name is Maribel, I had to share that here. Very personable and understanding when I was having issues with my payment. I’m definitely coming back to the location, plus the breakfast was great.

An older Village Inn, quaint, very old home styled. Great Server. Food was fast to table and good.

What a treat! Locals and visitors welcome. Service was spot on. Super friendly and fast. Delicious food at reasonable prices plus great service?! If we only lived closer...

I eat here at 3-4 times a week. I have type 2 diabetes and always get the chef salad which is huge! Ir takes up a whole dinner plate. As a joke i always tell the waitress I'm on a duet can I get 999 island dressing. Waitresses are the best as well as host and manager.

The quintessential diner - friendly wait staff, breakfast all day, and a suprisingly good burger. Great prices and the kids love it. It's hard to find a diner-style restaurant that fires on all cylinders and still is a good value, but Village Inn has it all.

Fabulous place for breakfast, lunch or brunch (I didn't get a chance to try dinner). Friendly service, large well-prepared portions. Would definitely return the next time I'm in the Tampa Bay area. Very reasonably priced.

Build your own VIP platter with Chocoalte Chip pancakes. Food was great, atmosphere not so great. Oh yeah, free pie slice every Wednesday!

The food was amazing. The service was equally amazing. I was delightfully surprised to see someone does balloon animals! What a great addition. The atmosphere I ranked lower because it’s very loud and a lot of the other customers are obnoxious. That’s not on the business. That’s on the customers. Just to let that be known.

    >Service Fantastic. Waitress was extremely friendly and constantly checked back to our table to refill water and ask how were doing. All of this during peak Breakfast hours. >Food Great breakfast foods and large portions. Had the Eggs Benedict both times I've eaten here and loved it. >Atmosphere Vintage interior with a really pleasent family vibe.

Wow, the quality of food and cooks have really gone down hill here. How do you ruin breakfast? Cowboy Omelet and burnt, greasy hash browns. The only saving grace was the pancakes but they've shrunk to half the size they used to be? Why skimp on pancakes? Fire the cook!

Landmark 1961 restaurant. Complete menu. Very pleasant surroundings. Food was good but some items were not as tasty as I had expected. The crepe was a bit hard, and the cheese omelette was not as cheesy as I would have preferred. The grits were awesome on the other hand. Overall, I would return!

So you might ask why this establishment gets five stars.. well it is quite simple. It's exactly what you would expect. The food is delivered quickly , it is hot and copious. You use the proper courtesy of please and thank you and this place is your oyster. Now if your there midweek , show up Wednesday for Free Pie Slice Wednesday.

The food was pretty good, I had the Denver omelette with pancakes and hash browns. The pancakes were delicious! The service wasn’t very good. Waitress left to go out and smoke for like 10 minutes after our food was delivered and we needed drink refills and she noticed we needed drink refills but as I stated that’s when she went out to smoke. After the 10 minutes or so she was gone she finally came back and she reeked of smoke and noticed we needed drink refills. Other than that our experience was good.

Waitress was attentive, professional. I think the quality of the food is improved, slightly different from previous visits. I think the dinning room needs a do over, but it hasn't changed for at least 40 years.

The food was Amazing however I'm pretty sure our server was also our bus boy? It was 30 minutes before he asked us what we wanted to drink then another 45 minutes waiting on the food. 4 people Cost $93.

Update! After dining here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, my wife and I want others to know - this Village Inn continues to offer up Quality Meals for a reasonable price! Even the customers return week after week, month after month and year after year. Even customers' offspring eat at Village Inn w/their children now! As long as this Village Inn continues to serve up great food AND service, the traditions will continue! Even the employees make a career at this restaurant, offering up top notch service, great portions, well prepared sides & entrees. Special requests are never frowned upon here! If they can make, they will! And THEIR offspring work and/or make a career at this restaurant too! Whatever they have here - great benefits, pay or work environment, their secret may just be their FAMILY values! Thank you Cindy, Margie & Danielle for 35+ years of great food & service. Older review: Good food. Confortable seating. Reasonable priced

I'm not from Tampa, but I have visited the Village Inn at two locations now, and both provided good breakfast type food and drinks at reasonable prices. It's similar to a Denny's or Bob Evans, or Friendlies. They have other food, but I didn't try that this time. Good portions. Nice Service. It's on my list of acceptable places.

Breakfast was delicious. The staff is so friendly and we waited approximately five minutes before being seated. Why are there not more of these? There was a woman blowing balloons for the kids. Our waitress was delightful and the food was really good.

Service, while friendly, was very slow (we were a group of seven). Special orders were honored and properly delivered! Being dinner time, we ordered sandwiches, which were "average" in terms of taste and size. The French fries were undercooked, and the toasted sandwich was under-toasted. We've been here for breakfast, which they do much better. We'll try something different the next time we go for dinner here. (But that may be a while).

The servers here are just the nicest group of people. I come here regularly with friends and we are treated like old missed friends. Our food is always on point. It’s a dependable place to meet up. Extra stars for the known variable that were always well cared for.

Ultimate skillet was horrible, over half was just potatoes and it only had 4 pieces of diced ham and 2 mushrooms. Not even half had green peppers/onions. Also portion was not served on metal as before it was on a 30% smaller plate. Over two decades I ate amazing meals at VI with Ultimate Skillet having good proportions and being properly mixed. Not just 1/2 having vegetables intermixed and rest being potatoes. Only reason I gave 2 star and not one is the pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Now I understand why my parents rejected offer to go to VI and suggest Cracker Barrel or La Teresita for breakfast. I figured it was only their local VI so I took them to another for nostalgia of eating at a childhood favorite. Damn the corporate exec that altered plating and suggested amount of ingredients to serve less and increase profit margins. VI will always live as a sweet childhood memory but I will never eat their again, corporate America has succeeded at ruining a once amazing dining establishment. If you read this far, thank you for your time. The lack of quality deserves to be known to prevent another from having an enjoyable meal.

I tried the Dale Mabry location in Tampa! Outstanding food, outstanding service! Try the Ultimate Breakfast skillet with all of the trimmings!

We went on a Sunday on about brunch time. Did not have to wait long the the hostess greeted us when we walked in the building with a smile. We sat in a booth by the window clean courteous server. Our food came out piping hot. And it was delicious as always I had no complaints about anything. Other than the benches and in the boot we're very warn down. I could see that they did great work in redecorating. But didn't take the time to replace the seat part of the benches. I felt like I was sitting in a hole.Other then that everything else was excellent. Will most definitely be returning.

How much difference quality food and a quality server makes is reflected in this being 4* rather than the 2* I was going to give it. This was my go to restaurant and location for years, but my previous visits were… underwhelming. It’s probably been almost a year since my last visit to this location, and 9mo. since my last Village Inn. To say that some things are lacking is an understatement, but the most important aspects were done right. I arrived at about 6pm on a Tuesday and despite being mostly empty it did take a good chunk of time for my server to be ready as there was only one server for the whole floor. After ordering it took over 20 min to get food (I was alone and there were only 5 other tables, all already with food). During my wait I used the restroom which may now require me to get a tetanus shot, Ebola treatment and an amputation. Seriously, I could smell the restrooms long before I found them. There were homeless people that changed their mind before getting there. I e been to waste holes in the mountains that seemed less invasive and more trustworthy. After using the urinal I went to move and my shoes were stuck to the floor (not a joke), and that was the cleanest spot in the bathroom. This bathroom should get a health code violation but the inspector wouldn’t come close enough to be able to grade. Now you are starting to understand why 2* was my initial starting point. With that said, once I got my food it was perfect. Albeit the server did refuse to bring out my toast because it wasn’t cooked right, and she forgot my butter for my pancakes, but when she came back with both… that was perfect too (even the butter which was not frozen and easy to spread). I’m a very picky eater and the food that I was served was spot on the first time. That really influenced my final score heavily. The server also deserves credit for ensuring the food was right before it came to me. Also for leaving the check right away so I didn’t have to ask for it, and also for providing a drink refill in a to go cup when noticing I was nearly done. I will also say I witnessed the manager doing a fantastic job assisting a difficult elder individual with his/her pie request. I was honestly turned from an unhappy customer to a very happy customer without them even knowing simply because when the staff had to do their job, they did it right. Now if only they could get that speed up and sort out those bathrooms and this place would be amazing. Seriously, there are septic tank clean-up crews who’d be troubled by the idea using these restrooms. There were patrons from NY City and LA who thought they were back home. There were immigrants from third world countries who said, “see not so easy is it?” I think I’m going to head to the mall and buy some new shoes now and then stop at the gym and take a shower…. But at least I’m not hungry.

Service was amazing! Our waitress brought over fresh coffee with warm coffee cups right after we ordered them. Food was made to perfection and delicious. Not sure what bacon they use but it was stellar! The retro feel of the diner with photos explaining the history about it made us feel right at home! Will definitely be back!

Looking for a quick stop for breakfast before traveling. We stopped in and enjoyed our meal. Ham Steak was nice size. Eggs were cooked as requested, toast was buttered generously. Coffee, hot and cup never empty. Service was spot on. Thanks for a nice experience
