Update: Asked management multiple times to clean the filthy stinky men’s bathroom & locker rooms and still no improvement. The locker room reeks of body odor so bad I can hardly go in there, there’s water all over the floor and there’s trash all over the floor and the bathrooms are disgusting. Management needs to put a couple of $5 glade plug in air fresheners that periodically freshen up the locker rooms and clean the stinky sauna too. Staff should be over there every 30 min to mop up all the water on the floors instead of putting up a wet floor caution sign up. I can’t even change without getting my socks wet. It’s disgusting and not acceptable. I call and ask management to clean the bathrooms and while I’m there no one even looks at the mess. Other crunch locations are not run this poorly & have no issues keeping the bathrooms and locker rooms clean. If staff can’t keep the place maintained and clean, they need to be replaced. Crunch channelside at Kennedy grand Central, Channelside, in downtown tampa is a great location and a decent value at $10/month but not maintained too well. Crunch Channelside has made many improvements over the years including better pathway to locker rooms, moving equipment configuration, adding spinning, adding hydro massage, and adding tanning beds! Good spot with great music and good people! Staff is way nicer than dim lit la fitness gym. Crunch does get busy but it's a motivator to work in with people, talk to people, and work out faster!

Husband was considering resigning up to gym. Gave contact information THATS IT. They are claiming we owe them 150$ for a membership he never signed up for. He never gave them bank information to sign up and never went back into the gym to discuss the membership again after the initial consultation. BEWARE of giving out your information. As that's considered signing up to the gym! The general manager is named Chris and he will not help you. Only hounds you for more money. Its not about the money its the principle. If we had gone even once or gave or credit card information i could then understand, but that never happened which is why they cannot settle the "bill". Consider a different gym, its not worth the hassle.

Can you PLEASE stop selling memberships for a while? This gym is beyond packed at all hours of the day. I'm begging for some motivated individual to open up a competing gym in the Channelside area, because this Crunch location is just unusable. Go here if you're clueless about fitness, and are satisfied using random pieces of equipment that aren't occupied at the time. Hey manager, no, there aren't off peak hours. Come up with a better excuse.

I moved from Channelside a couple of years ago. I get the join up emails from time to time and of course I simply delete them. The last one though got me thinking. The facility is nice. I joined early on when they first established themselves and signed up for a year. They were so excited to have me. However, when I had to move due to a job related transfer a year later and asked to quit my membership I was met with the rudest behavior. They couldn’t seem to figure out how to stop my monthly enrollment fee and kept me waiting for what seemed to be forever. Then they charged me an extra month even though I was personally there to cancel the first part of the last month I’d be in town. Speaking of personally there…they made a big deal that I had to come in personally to cancel as opposed to over the phone. And like I said, they made the process as absolutely miserable as possible. I know you all in Channelside have few work out options and the gym itself is nice. But be prepared when and if you move. You kinda leave wondering why you ever joined in the first place.

This gym is too busy. It is impossible to actually follow a workout routine while using this gym. The manager will reply to this and say just go off-peak, but there are no off-peak hours unless you want to go right at 5am or 10pm. The owners are happy because they're making good money, but they're screwing their customers.

Pro tip: this location is very popular so just make sure to plan your workouts in advance! They also have training sessions available for any budget. Nicole thr trainer is that girl, she got me so right!!

This gym is horrible. The majority of the equipment is down and most of the cable machines are broken and not working. Jeff Dyer should be ashamed of himself. Their only goal is to open 100 Club so they can have a billion-dollar company while they are neglecting all the old gyms that they have opened and they're not putting any money back into the equipment. The people who are supposed to fix the gym equipment are overworked they are barely there and even the common thing such as the tricep press down the rope and the handle for the cable is either missing or broken machines. You are getting exactly what you're paying for a $10 membership and most of the time nothing works. The only thing that they are worrying about building more gyms and they are neglecting all the old gems they all should be ashamed of themselves including Tony who's trying to build gyms fast and could care less about the gyms that they already have. It's a failing system and it will fail. All the employees are overworked and underpaid it's a complete revolving door. There is no future working for that company. Buyers be aware I was their top trainer National when they owned Lifestyle Family Fitness all the management is from Lifestyle Family Fitness in they are con artists who just worrying about opening gyms and they could care less about employees or neither customers.

The machines are not well maintained, the staff is disrespectful and lacks simple courtesy when requesting to change locations, citing arcane policy and esoteric terms and conditions to further extract funds from existing customers who request machines be maintained and repaired in a timely way. The vibes suck from most of the people and it is reflective of Jim Rowley, Christopher Shorty, Jake and the entire way this group is run from the top-down in my opinion. In the future: please keep the machines in top-shape so people can be on their way. Requested machines to be repaired in May/June '23 and after over 3-5 weeks they got to one machines out of three and through their hands up saying its the supply chain or something. Go to a boutique gym (Fitness, Indigo etc) where the vibes and atmosphere is improved where they are receptive to feedback and providing existing customers with creative and practical options upon their requests. Happy reading and enjoy your search for a decent gym around here.

I cancelled this gym membership back in 03/01/2023 because it takes me one hour round trip to go to any Crunch Fitness in my area. I went to a facility on March 1, made a second trip on May 20, and wrote a couple of emails to a manager. They would not cancelled my membership but kept accumulating my membership fees until August and sent it to collection. I had to report this to Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. This company ignored their notices for two months. Consumer services told me they reserve the right to sue this company in the future. Now a year later, this company emailed me to join their membership for $1 and they will waive 50% of my collection balance. What the ...? I already told them I cannot travel one hour round trip to any of their facility and they just cannot cancel my membership from last year.

Tons of equipment - especially love all the functional racks and rigs and deadlift platforms - could use an upgrade in that department to Hammer Strength racks and Plato loaded. Gym was packed from 6am - 7am but energy was high and vibe was good altho could be a bit intimidating for a novice exerciser. Not sure I would recommend strength training equipment right when you walk in - maybe a dedicated stretching area and then the line of strength - but as a long time gym goer and industry professional I tend to look a little closer st those details… overall, an awesome gym and the value for the price is through the roof

First, the instructors at Crunch Fitness have been outstanding. This rating is for their processes to cancel membership and the "manager" at this facility who would not respect me as a female enough to call me by name but kept referencing me as "love." I thought I canceled my gym membership with Crunch Fitness gym last month (in July) but saw a charge on my bank account this August so made a phone call to them. They told me that it was not possible to cancel with my app or by phone and that I would have to come to the location. I told them that I have been out of town and had not used the membership in close to a month. Today, August 3rd, I walked into Crunch; when there was room at the desk I stated I would like to cancel my membership. They told me to sit aside from everyone and wait til I could be helped. I waited. When asked, I told them that I have been a loyal customer and brought many clients here but am now using a new fitness app and my own weights so would like to cancel my membership. They told me the policy was that I would be charged for another month. I stated that I was actually not happy about being charged for the current month since I stopped using it last month and requested consideration be given to that. The manager stated that was the policy and that he would not cancel my account then. I again requested my account be canceled. Three times I asked and three times he said that he was not going to cancel my account and threatened to call "the authorities". I requested he get the owner on the phone because Crunch makes all sorts of accommodations to get clients in so was requesting consideration to not cause me hardship for charging me to get out of the membership but simply cancel my account. When I recorded the rest of the conversation, he then said he would cancel my account if I agreed to that last payment. I told him to cancel my account. He requested my credit card despite them having my bank account on file which they have withdrawn from monthly for the last ~5 years. He kept calling me "love" and I told him not to be condescending to me because he clearly wasn't treating me as his "love" so he then called me "Ms.". I informed him my title was "Dr." He then called me by a different first name. I informed him if he wanted me to pay to stop calling me anything other than my name. He said he was from Alabama and again kept repeating the wrong title and name, so I took it to mean he would not call a female a "doctor." I stated that he was misogynistic, meaning "strongly prejudiced against women" based on his refusal to call me by my name and swiped my card. He then stated, "Ban her from all Crunches" (after charging me for two months that I told him I was not using). Trying to cancel my membership from this Crunch gym I've gone to regularly and brought others into for the last five years was extremely egregious and sad. This was all unnecessary. I was shaking by the time I left. I have also reported this to the Federal Trade Commission. I see other review have comments addressing this. I feel like I was just charged to get out of my membership per their "policy," which caused emotional stress, and incurred unfair charges. This has also been reported to the BBB where this specific Crunch has an F rating with all reports I saw having to do with this same egregious means of trying to cancel membership. I also reported it to the Federal Trade Commission as cancelling membership is not supposed to be egregious.

Huge space with new equipment. Great cycling classes with new bikes. Heated studio with good yoga instructors. HIIT classes are organized and intense. Signing up for classes online is awesome so you know if you’re going to get into a class before you head to the gym. Only thing is it’s ALWAYS crowded and all the equipment is so close to each other. Also the aqua massage chairs are gimmicky and not that useful. Not worth paying more to get access to them. Overall the pricing is reasonable for what you get compared to other gyms.

I was only a guest here today. Although it was packed to the brim at 5-7PM, the facility was kept very clean. Great vibe for younger people and pretty much anything you want to do is supported here. This is not why I knocked off a star, because it doesn’t take away from the gym, but if your working sets on the deadlift or squat are over 450lbs (a risky 495 without safeties on the side) you’re out of luck due to the fat bumper plates. So if you’re a competitive powerlifter like me or a competitive Olympic lifter/squatter, it won’t work out here. Other than that, the platforms are solid and the weights are in great shape. People I interacted with were always kind and receptive to switching out on certain machines or areas. The star I knock off is due to one of the kids at the front desk. Very brazen behavior today. I know it’s a young vibe here and I’m also relatively young still but I was a bit taken aback hearing one of the staff hit on girls and not taking no for an answer. Kept pushing for #’s. When the girls asked why he couldn’t take “no” for an answer, he replied multiple times with more inappropriate answers that they clearly did not think was funny. His coworkers were appalled as well but didn’t stop the behavior. No matter how nice the gym is, these types of creepy interactions are ultimately what make you lose clients in the long run.

The worst gym experience in the past 10 years. I was highly misled when signing up. Once i moved to another state they made it impossible to cancel my membership and after the first month they place all those charges on your amount. I contacted the gym multiple times and was not able to get a hold of the manager Chris. They would keep saying he stepped out for the day at 2pm and such times. I emailed him and no response. Ive been a signature club member for several years then I changed my membership when I lived in Miami. But this experience has been so lacking in honesty that I will never return to crunch. Even when i called they said i had to write a letter to corporate but never have me an address. Apparently there are different crunch companies such as corporate and franchise. Even when i call the club and speak to the staff they dont even know what I am talking about. Please train your staff better or just dont lie to get people to sign up. Better gyms out there!

I had to edit my 5 ⭐ review but I do want it acknowledged that in my previous review this is what I said... "I mostly go for Thanecha's HIIT, Barre, and Hot yoga classes. She's always very positive, and makes class fun." Now this is my current thoughts on Crunch. The spray Crunch Fitness provides to clean the equipment can not touch your skin. If it does you have to wash your skin for 15-20 minutes. Obviously this is poison, and gloves are required. Cancer in a bottle. I have an issue with a company that promotes health and wellness but uses harsh chemicals. Anyone who understands the dangers of these chemicals will understand what I'm saying. There are so many other non toxic sprays that will disinfect. I've brought this to the attention of the GM several times. He told me today he had emailed corporate but they won't change out the spray. I asked for the email or contact info so I could make the complaint. He wouldn't give it to me. The GM "shorty" on his name tag was condescending and very argumentative. Saying things like "well we've used it for 20 years" "do you have a degree in Health...?" "I use it all the time and I'm fine" "Well you don't have to use it" . Which leads me to believe he never emailed corporate. I asked for his name so I could refer to our conversation and he wouldn't provide it. He thought I was going to make a complaint against him, I corrected him and told him I just want to make a complaint against the spray. But he was very concerned about getting a complaint against him. I only want to spread the word about the poison spray Crunch uses so it helps anyone who isn't aware. I don't care to make a complaint against a young uninformed "GM". I canceled my membership, which "shorty" was enthusiastic about. He thinks he has solved the problem because now he won't have to hear me complain periodically. However, cancer doesn't discriminate against people like him. So good luck Crunch fitness, one day the right person will make a complaint, and all that needed to be done was caring a little bit about your guests.

I really enjoyed my experience here. I am a done what serious athlete and I use free weights and other less conventional equipment. There were sense foam boxes, literally a set of stairs, and tons of racks. I was so pleased. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as well. I'm so grateful I chose to come in today.

Some personal trainers think its ok to blast hardcore country music. Its not ok. Its not ok to blast ghetto rap or hard core country in a general public area, especially located in the city. My personal trainer and i are forced to listen to it when im training with her. Even when im training by myself the country music blasts so loud i can hear it over the music in my headphones. People dont like it, its not funny, and it kills the vibe. Theres only 4 upright regular cardio bikes, (not the laid back lounging ones for old ppl) 3 of them have been broken in some way for over a year which is frustrating. (I dont have time for the bike classes, and the door stays locked when class is not in sesh so i cant use them on my own). Theres only 2 hamstring machines. Only 3 leg press machines. And only one pelvic extension machine.

Wasn’t the hugest fan of the gym itself, always super crowded, but the location was convenient. But WTF… When I moved I thought the nearest crunch was closer than it actually was, but it ended up being too far so I needed to cancel my membership… however I had to do it through this location. I have called and emailed 10+ times for over a month! I’ve used the “cancel membership” request on the website. Someone will get back to me in “1-2 business days” and NOTHING. They’ve withdrawn the membership fee twice since I’ve started trying to cancel. So if you‘re moving, MAKE SURE you cancel beforehand or you’ll just be stuck paying forever because they don’t make it easy… or even possible. UPDATE- this “Policy” varies by Crunch location. Some locations do allow the membership to be cancelled online (as told to me by an employee of Crunch Channelside). However Crunch Channelside doesn’t allow this. I moved with the intention of using my membership at another location- but was promoted to a different location for my job shortly before starting which put me an hour from the nearest Crunch location. you’d think they could make an exception or at least give some guidance in certain circumstances. I eventually had to stop payment through my bank.I’d also like to add that (as stated initially) I have emailed the location multiple multiple times with absolutely no response and called several times with employees only telling me to stop by or use the online forms so that they could accurately/efficiently help me going forward… which they clearly didn’t.

WILL CHARGE YOU WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION!! FRAUDULENT BUSINESS!! I’ve been trying to cancel my membership at Crunch Tampa Palms since the end of September. After completing their requirements, they have continued to charge me every month. After I had to call my bank to dispute the charges and block Crunch Tampa Palms, now Crunch Channelside just billed me $80 for 3 months at once, even though Tampa Palms hasn’t stopped billing me. I HAVE NEVER AUTHORIZED THIS MERCHANT TO CHARGE ME! Keep you bank information safe!! Do not sign up unless you have extra money to throw away after cancelling!!

Location is great and the price is reasonable. But maintenance is an issue in my opinion. Paper towel holders are often empty making it difficult to wipe down machines. And broken equipment is not repaired timely.. two examples in these pics - been without pads for months..

I’ve been coming here for over 2 years and the team is beyond exceptional. Crunch Fitness surpassed my expectations with its convenient location, impeccable cleanliness, and friendly staff. The gym's prime location makes it easily accessible, while its well-maintained and sanitized facilities create a comfortable environment. The staff's welcoming attitude and helpfulness added to the overall positive experience. Crunch Channelside always deserves an enthusiastic 5-star review... Today they earned 10-stars! In the aftermath of Hurricane Idalia, while most other businesses remained closed, the Crunch Channelside team showed up, demonstrated their commitment to their members. Their willingness to go the extra mile with a smile, even in adversity, truly sets them apart. If you’re looking for a great place to train in Tampa Bay, you need to visit Crunch Channelside for a tour!

After reading the reviews it’s clear they do this intentionally. I ask the front desk associate about a membership and told him i’d only be living in tampa for a month and i wanted a month pass. turns out he signed me up for a monthly membership and now i’m trapped in a contract i can’t use because i now live in a different state and paying a maintenance fee for a facility i can’t use. the manager was unhelpful and so was billing. that was very sneaky and rude of them trapping new and apparently old customers in a membership they can’t get out of.

This gym is so packed unless you go super early or right before they close at night. Half of the stairmasters are always broken or wobbly. The paper towel dispensers are frequently empty, which makes it hard to clean the machine after I'm done with it. I've never once seen staff checking or restocking the paper towel dispensers. The Crunch Channelside location is disappointing.

Easily the rudest trainers I have ever experienced. Half of them will basically push you out of the way when training a client, with no apology or awareness. And when machines break, they are broken for months not weeks. It’s not uncommon for more than half the stairmasters to be broken at one time. It’s cheap but poorly run and the staff as a whole lacks understanding of the basic tenants of customer experience.

I trained with Brittany Bishop for 6 months at Crunch Channelside and she’s an amazing trainer. She is very kind, inspiring, friendly and knowledgeable. She helped me achieve my goals in strength training. She taught me a lot of different workouts, which she customized for the muscle groups that I wanted to develop. She even taught me about diet, nutrition, perfecting form, tracking progress, recovery and so much more. Basically, she’s the kind of trainer that makes you fall in love with strength training.

Great gym! I was nervous and quite intimidated by the whole gym atmosphere (in general), but the staff was so welcoming and friendly, they really eased my anxiety and I quickly settled in. I've really enjoyed my fitness journey and am grateful for the Personal Trainer they paired me with; Nick. He's professional and accountable, great teacher and I am seeing results from my sessions with him. Facility is clean, lots of sanitizing stations and there seems to always be an employee cleaning. Locker room is small, but the sauna is much larger than any standard gym I've been to. It is very busy during the weekday afterwork rush. Lots of great equipment and a good large HIIT area with several stations.

Huge facility with all the newest equipment and classes. Large locker rooms with a spacious and very hot sauna. Open early and late. Classes literally all day. Parking on the street is tough but there's a garage directly above. The Hot Yoga studio is separate from the main gym, and is across the street from the main entrance. It's a big studio and gets really warm! There's a separate cycling studio with killer lights and sound. It gets crowded but it's so huge, you rarely need to wait for a machine, except the leg extension machine. There are 2 and always busy! Get another one. Nice staff, passionate about fitness. Everyone is so fit here. The HIIT classes are killer. Awesome instructors. Great vibe. Full disclosure, I teach here but I was a Crunch member years ago first!

Tons of great classes from hot yoga to pilates, HIIT and more. Many trainers. Big gym. Lots of room. I also really enjoy using the hydromassage. Great location and free parking for two hours in the garage connected to it.

Nice big gym that gets the job done. Friendly workers and especially appreciated help from Sam at the front desk in getting a free trial

Ive been charged for services that hey never provided, and after spoke with 3 different people almost 2 months ago about my membership cancellation, they are still charge me for this nightmare gym. The “manager” is never there and good luck find the “manager” to get your refund. Nightmare, I’ll have to go to the bank to get this gym stopped to get free money.

By far one of the best gyms I’ve been in, and I’ve been in quite a few!! More than enough equipment even when it gets crowded. I can’t even get mad when it’s almost elbow to elbow!! Great service at the front desk, attentive staff and overall good feeling when you’re greeted from your entrance.

I feel really gross having dealt with this Crunch. I’d advise a clearer explanation of billing procedures along with relations between Financial partner company. I would recommend signing up with someone other than Lianna. She flipped me into a sale and stuck me with an Annual Fee… sucks to be treated like that.

Big Z is the best!! I’ve always been had anxiety to go and sign up in a gym but when I came into crunch today, Big Z was so helpful and accommodating, he patiently explained to me all the things Crunch has to offer. Big Z even left his busy work desk when he saw me struggling on how to use one of the machines and came over and showed me how to use it. Thank you Big Z you helped me more than you know.

If you’re new to Tampa like I am, and you’re looking for a gym, i highly recommend Crunch Channel-side. From the staff to the atmosphere, hands down best gym I’ve been to.
