This place was very clean, our server was attentive and cordial, and the food was delectable. Probably one of the best Spanish restaurants I’ve been to.

Food was delicious and came out fresh. Staff was nice and did their job well. Do not let its appearance scare you off. Food is very much worth it.

This small Puerto Rican restaurant on Armenia has a small parking lot in the side and is definitely a taste of home. Chicken and shrimp relleno. Tostones andbof course a Jupiña. ✌️ safe travels

First time trying Puerto Rican food and boy was it great! Be warned though the portions are huge You will definitely need a to-go box lol. Which is convenient because it's very moderately priced and you basically get two meals! I ordered the Mofongo Rellano De Pollo: Mashed Fried Plantains Stuffed w/ Chicken Sauteed in a Fragrant Sauce of Tomatoes, Garlic, Onions, Peppers, & White Wine. Served w/ a Side of Yellow Rice

Consistently perfect experience both Uber eats and sit down in dining room. Clean and inviting this West Tampa haunt. Try the stuffed sweet plantain (the canoe) and any of their fish preparations.

Hello friends, my wife and I were looking for a good Puerto Rican restaurant with criollisimo food. What I mean is a very flavored and spiced up food which Tampa Bay lacks. May be one day I will find it. So we found LaCasona Restaurant, we did some research and based on the ratings of 4.2 and the 5 most recent we decided to come up this way which is a 30min drive for since we are in Clearwater. When we got here the establishment is located on a very busy intersection. There is parking, although it doesn’t look safe the security cameras make up for the insecurity, so that a plus. Once inside I was greeted but my wife was not. We were seated immediately and the waitress who failed to give us her name took our order. The menus were nice, sort of like high end menus. I looked about the establishment and it was clean, well maintained and good music. No cokes which is a huge disappointment as coke is way better than Pepsi. So we order two Cola Champagne. We started with appetizers Alcapurrias, and Surullitos de Maiz, and sweet plantains which we wanted before the meals but we got it with our meal, so we waited a very long time before we got everything. No complimentary chips or anything? That’s a negative in my review. We ordered white rice with beans, and my wife added fried Pork Chops, which the meat was over cooked and extremely oily, another negative. Our Alcapurrias were very tiny and extremely thing and over cooked with hardly any beef inside including very dry yet oily. The Surullitos de maiz we good! The food is over priced for the type of quality including the service we got. I give this place 3 stars! Would I come back here? No, it’s not worth it. I see this establishment has been around since 2005, but over time businesses get over confident and instead of continually improving it becomes stalemate, cutting corners to save a few dollars here and there and in the end quality of service begins to hurt! So what did we pay? Rounding up to a total of $75 with tip and tax included. I have added pictures and videos for everyone to see, enjoy.

The place outside looks bad but inside it's super cute. The service is excellent. But I didn't like the food. Morongo was small tasteless, the alcapurrias were eatable but not all that No es barato!!. Best place to eat puertorrican food is Orlando. Las frituras de bacalo se las di a mi perro cuando llegue a casa

Horrible experience the food was not cooked right. The taste was off we ordered a churrasco and it was not worth the money we paid for. I would not recommend it to anyone. I would give it a zero star if I could for the food.

Extraordinary experiences for the past 5-6 years. I have visited every Hispanic restaurant in the Tampa area. None come close in flavor, environment and services. Food is amazing.

This used to be the best Puerto Rican food in Tampa by far. But it was not as good as it used to be. They used to give you fresh garlic bread, now they charge you for bread that looks suspiciously like it comes from the frozen isle. The churrasco tasted good, but it had no char. Felt like it was cooked at too low temperature. Nothing tasted bad. It just was not up to the standards I held for them through the multiple times I've been there. Considering the price I expect more.

I will just say that this place is a delight. The service, the atmosphere and the "Food" delicious!! I highly recommend if you are looking for that Puerto rican flavor, this is the place. I was truly impressed.

The restaurant feels like you’re at someone’s home…very inviting. We started with the alcapurrias. They were ok, but our entrees were delicious. We had the mofongo with pulpo y carucho, fried chicken chunks and asopao de camarones. Very authentic Puerto Rican food. We’ll be back!

Great Puerto Rican restaurant! the food was great. the service was awesome. the alcapurrias con congrejos were fantastic. The mofungo was one of the best I've had in the states or in La Isla del Encanto.

One of the very 1st restaurants I ate at 20 yrs ago when I first lived in the area. Remains with great service, quality, and delicious food!

Food was disgusting, and it got me sick to my stomach for about a week. I had the octopus salad, and they put so much lettuce that I only had like 5 pieces of octopus, and it tasted nasty. I also tried the cod fish balls. They only had the taste of the cod fish. Writing this review it's making me feel sick to my stomach. Will never, ever recommend this place. Prices through the roof.

I would say they have the best Puerto Rican food in the area except for the Mofongo which was a bit hard and dry. They also did not let me come into the business in a tank top yet let several other women walking with tank tops and gave me the excuse that I was “not dressed properly”

I'm very disappointed with La Casona. We make reservations since Wednesday, they new with plenty of time that they need enough personal to receive us. Went we get they there they don't have enough seat to be everybody together, they don't have enough people to take care of us. Took them to long to take the orders for the drinks, them when was time to eat that was crazy, that was so crazy that was three persons that they ask to give us our food to go, because most of the peoples they finished their lunches, but they were people that still waiting for there food. WE WILL NOT GOING THERE ANYMORE, I GIVE THEM "1" FOR FOOD AND "2" FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

We used to come all time when the original owners were still there. Came today and food was NOT the same, there was absolutely no seasoning at all on the fried pork, the chicken and the mofongo. The alcapurria was made with cornmeal and barely had any meat or masa inside . We told the waitress, who seemed annoyed that we brought it to their attention, went to grab the manager. He then proceeded to tell us he is trying to accommodate everyone and there is salt on the table so if we’d like more seasoning we could use that. We spent $120, barely ate anything and not one time were we offered a discount for the poor food. Would NEVER recommend to anyone, so sad because the previous owners held so much pride with their food.

Clean, cozy, and it feels like home. Family place, food very delicious, it was worth the long.waiting. Morongo needs more garlic and olive oil, but with shrimp sauce it was great. Kids enjoy their meal and dessert. Truly Puerto Rican 🇵🇷 congratulations

Decent and respectable. Food remains good but it seems ownership has either changed or management scaled the seasoning and portions. Shoot! They could not provide the "Mofongo con camarones" my mother oh so desired. They were provided separately. Mom was certainly not thrilled.

Nice place if u want to have a good time with the family. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. The only disappointment was that the food took an hour and half to be served but I would say that was on Father’s Day so I can give them a pass on that one.
