Tampa
Bay
Restaurant
Week.
Soho
Sushi.
Located
in
a
strip
center
on
W.
Kennedy,
Soho
does
a
very
busy
lunch
business.
Prix-Fixe
Menu
is
$55
for
2
with
4
courses.
The
selection
is
huge,
choose
1
of
7
starters,
any
2
sushi
rolls,
any
2
specialty
rolls
and
1
of
3
desserts.
The
wife
and
I
loved
our
selection
and
the
Fried
Oreo
dessert
was
amazing.
We
had
the
Mexican,
Spider,
Volcano
and
Candy
Cane
rolls.
All
of
them
were
very
good.
Having
in
my
past,
sat
for
2
years
across
the
counter
from
a
70
year
old
Japanese
Sushi
Master,
there
are
things
I
notice.
Soho
is
on
the
cusp
of
being
5
stars
but
the
chefs
I
saw
lack
the
experience
and
intense
training
that
used
to
be
the
benchmark
for
sushi
chefs.
I
opted
for
a
nice
variety
of
items.
Kiss
Me
Roll,
Hamachi
Kama,
2
Steamed
Buns
(Katsu
and
Pork
Belly)
and
a
couple
Salmon
Skin
Hand
Rolls.
Presentation
was
mostly
good.
Loved
the
Kiss
Me
roll
with
the
citrus
flavor
and
that
kiss
of
heat.
The
Katsu
bun
was
excellent
but
the
Pork
Belly
missed
the
mark,
did
not
care
for
the
piece
of
pork
belly
inside.
The
hamachi
was
just
ok
to
me.
An
intense
fish
flavor
due
to
the
soft
skin
and
light
cooking
preparation.
I
prefer
the
skin
to
be
more
crispy
while
the
fish
remain
juicy.
The
hand
rolls
tasted
fantastic
with
perfectly
crispy
salmon
skin
but
they
were
very
loosely
rolled.
I
myself,
honestly,
roll
them
tighter.
Today
the
lack
of
experience
showed
on
the
sushi
chefs.
Not
sure
if
they
are
the
regulars
or
if
they
change
on
certain
days
or
shifts.
Also,
I
wanted
to
try
some
very
high
grade
sashimi
but
they
had
none.
