This is a historic Tampa boarding house that served famous African Americans during segregation times.

Sadly, the city of Tampa could care less about preserving this structure. It is located in the middle of a large parcel, currently used as courthouse parking. If you think it has historical value and would like to see it restored, email your politicians.

All the history that happened in this house is overwhelming. I hope and pray that more people join in the effort to help restore this home.

This place has so much texture and good vibes. I can almost hear that smooth Jazz playing from the walls of the Great musicians and American Heros who slept within its walls. I hope the City restores her to new.. Please do let us loose such a special piece of what was once, Tampa so very long ago. #ScrubDistrict

Dilapidated eyesore in the outskirts of downtown. Even if they invested the capital to preserve this place, the architectural value isn't worth it. Some buildings are worth saving, this one is not. Let's move on Tampa.

Where's all the BLM money, or rich black celebrities/sports entertainers with restoration money?

As a historian, this location called me to go visit and enjoy the past. It's located next to a Heavy trafficked road so be careful departing. It currently is a funeral home and active business. We arrived and parked in front of the building. You can walk up and read the historical marker without being questioned. I enjoyed it yet the reason I gave it 3 stars was not much to do once you arrive and read. History nerds and their kids will enjoy the ten minute stop others might not.

IF THE ACCARDIS (WHO OWN 717 PARKING) DO NOT ALLOW 10FT OF SPACE FOR CONSTRUCTION, THIS BUILDING WILL BE GONE FOREVER.

It breaks my heart to see it so run down, but am so glad it's still standing. Beautiful historical building!

I don't even live in Tampa but I (realize &) care about preserving this important historical structure.
