Reason why? They are corporate and only about the money. Never took care of the issue my dog was dealing with. I decided to take my dog to a private vet learned more in 15mins than I did in 3 yrs with Banfield st Pete to Tampa locations. Just want frequent visits to get money. The private vet took care of my dog itching skin in 35mins his flea is in 1,hrs and don't have to buy pills every month. I can go on. Less expensive as well. Long story short never deal with franchise companies that have a corporate office. Private owners are small time business. Who focus on the issue, and educate you with facts, not semi facts and set your next bank account withdrawal visit. Anyone who knows anything about corporate vs private understand the difference.

Absolute worst vet clinic Iā€™ve ever been to. We are leaving as soon as our one year program is done. They take a minimum of 4 to 5 hours every time your dog needs to be seen. Today itā€™s been over 2.5 hours since I dropped off my dog for a well visit and he still hasnā€™t been seen by the vet. I was just told he will be seen after 2 more dogs ahead of him. Do NOT go to this terrible clinic or sign up fir their healthy year program!!

Absolutely horrible animal hospital. I had a 9am appointment and they didn't even see my pet until 4pm. They left him trapped in a tiny cage for an entire day. They obviously care more about cramming in as many clients as possible to make money than about the animals they care for. If you care about your pet, go somewhere else.

By far the worst banfield and pet hospital in the area. There are too many others in Tampa. So unprofessional and uncommunicative. We just want to keep our pets safe and happy. However, it takes 3-4 hours just to get seen and your dog sits in a crate the whole time. No reason to have an appointment and make sure you take the whole day off of work because youll be there ALLLL DAYYY. The worst. Never going back.

Banfield has a very flawed online scheduling system. I made appointments for three visits, received confirmations, only to find no such appointments existed. One day I was booked with a doctor that does work there, but wasnā€™t there that day. When I finally had my pet seen, I learned it was a drop off appointment, which meant I had to return three hours later to pick my pet up. As a result- I took off two days for appointments and then had to miss a class to return to pick up my pet. I would not recommend this location and plan to find some place else. If you make an appointment, call and double check the appointment exists!! I have also filed a complaint with Banfield and have not heard back; a response to this bad review came well before any response to a complaint.

Unfortunately I'm only about 2 months in to my 1 year plan with them...In hindsight I would 100% go elsewhere - the puppy plan they offer sounds good and inclusive but ultimately they are VERY unreliable. Almost every time i try to call them to leverage the free telehealth included in the plan i have to call 10 - 20 times before i get through and i have NEVER had a voicemail returned. Also just had an appointment cancelled by them the day of and have been trying to reschedule for the last 2 days and have yet to be able to get through to someone. Definitely looks like a money first, pets second setup.

All the negative reviews are accurate. I did not feel comfortable leaving my pet here and was really hesitant. I didn't realize this was a drop off appointment until I got there. I had an 830am appointment and my pet was not seen until 145/2pm. When my pet was picked up around 3pm, he started peeing immediately at the register. I'm not sure if my pet was taken outside to use the restroom at all or if he was given food or water. They were really backed up and had 30-40 pets that day with only one vet seeing them all. It just doesn't seem like pets that go here get good care.

This was by far the worst experience I have had at a veterinarian (and I was a tech for several years). My original appointment was at a neighboring Banfield for 1430 today. They called to cancel at 1345 today and directed me to this location. I called to confirm the appointment and was told it would be no problem to accommodate the appointment. Upon arrival, I was told there was not a reservation but that they would still be able to see my dog (a simple vaccine booster, nail trim, and prevention refill). The whole ordeal took three hours. Her nails are sharper than when I dropped off and I had to return for prevention, which they had not administered or prescribed. They were mildly apologetic but this was horrendous service and I will not be returning to any Banfield location for further services. Picture attached of a very rambunctious puppy that was made to wait in a kennel for nearly three hours instead of being asked to return at a later date.

We like Banfield. The vets take good care of my puppy. However, we will not be renewing our contract with them after the one year requirement is up. There have been several times where my puppy had a lab sent out to be cultured/looked at by a specialist. These are only suppose to take 2-3 days to come back, but I NEVER hear back from them unless I call repeatedly about it. A PCR (kennel cough!) test took 2 weeks to come back. An X-ray took 10 days to come back. And Iā€™m currently waiting on a lab from my dogs urinalysis, itā€™s been almost 2 weeks! I call every day and hear the same thing, ā€œyouā€™ll get a call tomorrow.ā€ They take great care of your animals in the moment, but follow ups and after-care are lousy. They do not put after- care priority on any animal regardless of how severe their condition is.

Not usually a person to write a review on google, but whatever you do NOT bring your dog here. Instead of simply asking for a sample of my dogs stool, they shoved a tube up his butt without telling us what they were doing first. I have been uncomfortable here multiple times, hearing dogs cry at the top of their lungs in the back in tiny cages for ā€œdrop offā€. I mean really WHAT VET GETS WEIRD ABOUT YOU WANTING TO BE IN THE ROOM WITH YOUR DOG???!!?? They will try to scam you for more money constantly even if you get their ā€œunlimited care packageā€. Extremely disappointed & upset with the service & overall customer service.

Absolutely the worst vet Iā€™ve EVER been too would give it a zero star if I could, had an 11 oā€™clock appointment walked in at 1040 to find a huge line made up to the counter at 11ish took forever to get my dog checked in and when they finally took her back the vet tech ( who was awesome ) said it would be 2 hours I was like what ( but needed my dog to be seen ) so fast forward two plus hours later no call or email I went to pick her up and found out they hadnā€™t even examined her yet ( it had been 2 hours and 45 min since they checked her in the girl behind the counter told me when she looked my dog up in the computer ) I was like give me my dog they wouldnā€™t just give me my dog the vet tech came out and Iā€™m like please bring me my dog and she said the vet had to talk to me so I waited longer the vet finally came out and Iā€™m like bring me my dog. Long story short you make an appointment but it means nothing they take your fur baby throw them in a cage and they wait, while I was waiting for them to bring out my dog there were 42 dogs on the welcome sign for today with 2 vets working who knows when they would see my dog while she sat in a cage with dogs barking and howling šŸ˜”

This is the worst clinic Iā€™ve ever been too. We had an appointment at 11:30 AM. They told us that they were going to keep my 1 year old cat whoā€™s scared at the clinic because they needed to go on lunch and had other pets they had to see before her. The man up front said they should be done at 2. They called me at 2:15 to say she still hasnā€™t been seen. And that ā€œthey close at 6 so we SHOULD see her by thenā€. There was no point for an appointment. Itā€™s insane that they MIGHT keep my cat there for 7 hours for a wellness exam. I tried calling them multiple times to see if they saw her yet and no one even picked up the phone. Complete waste of time and thereā€™s a huge lack of concern on their part. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE AT ALL.

Iā€™ve been going here since I got my puppy last year and have had no issues. But the last three times I went there the lady that works the front desk was rude and inconsiderate and the sole reason i decided to cancel my plan and not return anymore. She called me in to pick up my dog an hour before he was ready to get picked up, i stood there for an hour waiting for her or someone to bring him out to me, turns out he wasnā€™t even ready to be picked up. She told me they gave him the flee/tick medication already and thatā€™s why i wasnā€™t going home with it, turns out that was incorrect and i had to ask about it the following appointment and go through a bunch of people to get it again for no charge. When you ask her any question at all she interrupts you and says youā€™ll have to wait to speak with someone else very rudely, even simple questions that she could answer, i could go on. The person at the desk is the first person a customer interacts with and when youā€™re met with someone who talks to you like she does not care what you have to say, talks over you, and doesnā€™t care to be there, it is a major turn off.

So far I have had great service and every one of the employees have been wonderful. My issues is with the company and their price gouging of prescriptions. My pup needs to be on a medication that is 170 bucks for 30 days and another that is 30. I paid three months of that price and sorta overwhelmed with the continued expenseā€¦I donā€™t mind doing it for her but then I was told to see if they will price match or send in a script for me to take else where. I was told about chewyā€¦I price matched and about dropped my phone at how much money I have spent compared to what I couldā€™ve spent. From 170.00 to 28.00 in one medicine to another companies price. I understand raising prices but that amount is an insane amount. So this is for people who are limited in funds or would rather save. Donā€™t let a a company price gouge you. Chewy is very easy to use and very responsive when you call. Again the people who work for the company are amazing and wonderful. That is where my three stars go to!

Dr. Heather was extremely disrespectful of my time and expected me to be okay with them being an hour past when I needed to pick up my dog. I made an apt for 10:30am and was told upon arrival that my appointment was a drop off appointment which I was never told. I made them aware several times I needed my dog to be finished by 3:30pm as I had to be somewhere by 4:30pm. I arrive at 3:30pm and they hadnā€™t even seen my dog yet. Dr. Heather had attitude with me about my frustrations and would not let me come back a different time. I did not end up leaving until 4:20pm! I do not recommend this location as they are slow and do not seem organized with their scheduling.

Their insurance policy is a complete rip-off, and the cancellation process is a nightmare. I wasted more than two hours trying to reach someone in their cancellation department. Additionally, it's been over a month since they submitted blood for culture testing, which was supposed to yield results within a week, yet there's been no sign of them. The service is incredibly disappointing.

Money hungry vet! Donā€™t bother with these people! Took my dog and her puppies for checkup and deworming. Paid almost $400 and was told to bring puppies back in 3 weeks for second round of deworming which would be included in the amount I was charged. 3 weeks later go in to pick up medication to give puppies only to be told itā€™s an extra $80 for second round and now they need a third round which will be another $86. Donā€™t bother with these dishonest, money hungry people!!!!

Loving the team at this banfield is an understatement. They make myself and my furbabies feel like family and I never feel uncomfortable dropping them off to this location because literally everyone on their team is so fantastic to the point that sometimes I suspect my pets are faking sick so they can go visit their human friends at Banfield. Gabby, Mike, Barbara, Stacy, the doctors, EVERYONE. We pass by three other Banfield locations to get to this one.

This place is is a scam. Donā€™t get their pet insurance!! It barely covers the minimum of everything and if you do have to bring your animal in youā€™ll still end up paying full price for whatever tests and medicine needed.

I am pretty happy with Banfield. I take both my dog and cat here, and I donā€™t have much to complain about. It is a busy location, I understand that, but I do wish they could answer the phone a bit quicker. I only get frustrated when I have to call 10+ times before I am able to reach someone. But the technicians and veterinarians are all kind. They have also helped to answer some questions that may have seemed obvious and I really appreciate them taking the time to assist me. Both my pets are covered by the Optimum Wellness Plan (Active Care Plus) and personally, it has helped me better afford care for the two of them. I do wish it didnā€™t require a plan to be able to afford their services, but for my family, my pets have been able to get more care done in an appropriate amount of time because of it. I feel like there is a bit of an issue with it not alerting you that you are going to renew after a year, but I marked the date on my calendar and still decided to renew. And they treat both my animals very well! My dog had some anxiety issues at his old veterinary office but he seems to be okay coming here so they must be treating him pretty great back there!

Seemed like they wanted my money more than they wanted to help my dog. The techs were very nice but seemed inexperienced. Came in for skin problems and took over 4 hours to just be seen by the primary veterinarian doctor and when she came in said that today was just a drop off day. This information was never conveyed to me and I did not feel comfortable leaving my dog for multiple hours in a crate at a loud hospital. This place is not ā€œaffordableā€ if you do not purchase their wellness plans. Otherwise it will be $50 for each simple test.

RIDICULOUS SERVICE!!! My cat was due for her shots. The appointment was at 3:30 PM. Someone from their office called me and requested to come early in the morning instead, to which I agreed. I arrived their location on time. After all the paperwork, they mentioned I have to keep my cat in their super noisy hospital for 5-6 hours. Mind you, I brought my pets only for her yearly shots, not some complicated surgery. When I said I am not keeping my pet here all alone inside a kennel in this loud place, they told me Morning appointments are for drop in. This particular information was never conveyed to me when their representative called me. I brought my cat home right away, hospitals are no place for healthy cats to be kept for 5-6 hours. I am going to take my business elsewhere. Keep away from this unprofessional business who doesnā€™t appreciate your time.

Iā€™ve been coming to Banfield for over 4 years now, since I got my dog. There customer service and the vetenarians have been nothing but helpful and professional. The wellness plan has been great to have as it pays for itself on a yearly basis. There personal website is very easy to use and allows me to easily keep track of where my dog stands with all of his shots, check ups, and dental cleanings.

every time we bring our dog into banfield it is a good experience. the staff is very helpful and Dr. Sarria/team always take time to explain any issues & treatment options. the membership plan is a great value for a new pet owner because of the unlimited office visits and discount on just about everything. you'll also have access to a helpful online portal for questions and scheduling. huge bonus that banfield is inside of petsmart so you can get anything you need while there!

Dr. Heather is amazing, she helped me every step of the way and made me feel so comfortable leaving my sick baby with her, she was also very knowledgeable and explained everything in great detail. I look forward to using her as my vet for years to come. 10/10

Iā€™ve had banfield purely for of how close itā€™s been to my home, but Iā€™ve had several issues with them the last couple of years. First they misdiagnosed my dog, & almost killed him. They blew that off like no big deal, then now that heā€™s passed away, theyā€™re trying to collect money for the wellness plan for the next 3 months AFTER he has died. Terrible company, terrible customer service, & itā€™s all just a money grab. Whatever is the most costly to you and gains them the I most is what theyā€™ll do every time, regardless of if it helps your pet or not.

THEY ALMOST KILLED MY CAT!!!!!! If I could give ZERO stars I would. Shame on #petsmart for partnering with them. I had My reservations about this operation after our first few appts but since we are a military family and have moved so often it was convenient (before easy access electronic records) to stay with one company. NEVER AGAIN!!! They botched my cats circumcision SO badly today they almost killed him. AND THEN THEY TRIED TO SEND HIM HOME WITH ME!!!!!! I forced Them to send him to the emergency clinicā€¦which they did AT THEIR COST. Which admits a mistake. The ER said he would have DIED had he come home with me!!!!! $3600 later and likely more (that was just tonight heā€™s still there!!!) STAY AWAY!!! The Dr lied to my face and said he had a clotting issueā€¦she had blood work which said otherwise. SHE MADE THE MISTAKE!!!!!

Just helped my daughter take my furry gkid JEWELY šŸˆto get checked out....it was the most pleasant experience. My daughter has had Jewely for 17 (human)years, so she is an older kitty but still got some spunk in her. This location added Jewely šŸˆsame day and took very good care of her and relieved Jewely medical issue(constipation) for an older kitty it's a little painful. I highly recommend this location and we are so happy JewelyšŸˆ is feeling better.
