    I’ve been a recurring client of Petsmart for about a year. I always take my dog to the branch located in North Tampa and everything was going well until now that I took my dog to groom him and it was a total disaster. First I had an appointment at 12:30 and they called me to tell me that I could take my pet before because they had enough time to do his grooming. When I took him, they checked him for knots, a girl named Christine, and told me that he didn't have many. It should be noted that I had made an appointment to get him a full hair cut and bath. I left it around 10:30 a.m. An hour later, they called me to tell me that my dog had a lot of knots and they had to cut him a lot more than expected. I told him to try not to cut him so much, and to only cut the areas with knots. Around 3:45 (5 hours after leaving him) they call me again to tell me that my dog was exhibiting bad behavior and was barking which caused them to stop the grooming. They informed me that they were going to put him in a kennel until he calmed down. I asked if I had to go pick him up they told me to wait I waited until 4:20, which I thought was enough time for a grooming. When I saw my dog, I couldn't believe what they had done to him. I tried to wait, but my dog was very desperate, they grabbed him between three girls to try to calm him down but I couldn't wait any longer and I made them stop. My dog arrived at the house trembling and scared. It has never happened before on multiple occasions that I took him to the same place. I'm very sorry for everything that happened, but I definitely won't take my pet to that place again.

    So I brought my dog in to get vaccinated. My rent lady notified me that I had to get her spayed, and that had to be done before she had even got to my place. I didn’t know apparently it was in my lease! She told me I had till Tuesday so they were nice enough to squeeze me in for Monday. If not I would have had to surrender her to the shelter. When she got vaccinated she was in heat, they also did an “exam” and ran tests on her and what not,cool. The employee notified me about a plan and I went with it because it included the spay. The day the appointment, they’re like “we’re you aware she was in heat?” Yes I was! Why weren’t you when guys did an exam?!? So they said it would be an additional fee of $100 plus medication and that can up to $129 when I already had paid $159 outright. I feel like that should have been noticed, and not only that it should been a disclaimer about it. They literally exploited me because of the situation I was in. I gave them 2 stars because they “squeezed” me into their books and everything worked out fine. I just had to put off my car insurance and phone bill to keep my beloved pet.

    This review is specific to grooming. I have brought my dog here twice and I cant say enough about the love, care, and patients, that is shown to my furr baby Tenshi and myself. Christine M. is a absolute darling. Tensh loves her. Christine is always so patient and listen to what I want. My furr baby and I love our groomer. She always does a great job! Christine is the best!

    Everything you need to have your best friend happy and well fed. And if you don’t have a pet then they will hook you up with one.

    The grooming folks are awesome. My dog is nervous and they calm him right down. They go above and beyond caring for him. Otherwise, the store is OK, mostly supplies. Very few fish and other small animals are available at this location.

    If you are looking for a great place to buy pet food, look no further. This location offers a variety of high-quality pet food options for both cats and dogs. The staff is exceptional and always willing to assist us in finding the right food and supplies for our furry friends. They greet us with a friendly welcome every time we walk through the door. In addition, this Petsmart location has an animal hospital and grooming center, making it a convenient one-stop-shop for all our pet care needs.

    Very helpful. I was approved for a classroom let grant. The staff members that retrieved my hamster and checked me out were so helpful. One of the grant coupons was for a product that was recalled and the staff members still honored the coupon by substituting it for a different size but for the same amount of food. I really appreciated that!

    Terrible store with discourteous and rude staff. LeeAnn could not care less about your satisfaction or if you ever comeback to the store. Shop elsewhere. When are people in these stores and managing them going to wake up and understand a better choice is 1 click away, and takes none of my time to get there...and customer service is 10 times better.

    Your prices are way overboard. I won't be back your crooks stealing from people and you sell a bunch of garbage food for dogs to eat. It's all garbage. People are so cheap. They don't feed their animals, real food and you're robbing everybody for even a bird seed. Paid $24 for a brush for the dog. Really really

    The pet hotel took great care of my dog when she stayed there and updated me on how she was doing. They spent one-on-one time with her and made sure she was comfortable as she’s a very anxious dog. First time stays get a free night off of their multi stay visit!

    Don’t take your fury loved one here they do not know anything about pet grooming even if you show pictures they do something completely different. A bunch of amateurs.the picture from the last time and what you asked them to do compared to what they did this time. Made her bald in some spots. TERRIBLE

    What a great service!! I really appreciate to Liz who took care of my dog! She is awesome and she did amazing job! I had to leave the town immediately and I could not bring my dog with me but it was last minutes and I just moved in to Tampa, I had no idea where should I board my dog . I called bunch of place , I found out PetSmart was available ! My dog was so happy highly recommended 😊 I will definitely come back!!

    Love the crew in the daycare and hotel. I have a senior dog, and they have always taken great care of him. We were referred to them some years ago after my longtime Vetcare stop boarding by the office manager who took his dog there for boarding. Thank you, PetSmart, for loving on our boy Bentley 🐕

    LEXI did a wonderful job grooming our 2 year old, recently rescued mini poodle. Unlike his prior grooming experience at another shop a month ago, Teddy was happy and playful when we got home today and he looks great. We will certainly be back next month and highly recommend Lexie's services.

    Im a new puppy owner of a beagle with tummy issues. I’ve had Labradors previously who ate everything and anything. I received guidance and help from sales associate, Ron. He was super nice, thoughtful, articulate and not pushy at all. So grateful he started a conversation with me. I needed his help and didn’t even know it!

    They're always very professional. Always take very good care of my pets. While I was there an emergency came in and they were right on it they didn't waste any time taking care of that pet. If it had been my pet I would have wanted them to do the same.

    I take my pet here to be groomed and I love them! Italia is wonderful! I stay about 30 mins away and went there initially not knowing the distance. Its a year later and I will drive there all the time instead of somewhere closer. The care, love, professionalism and awesome work I see she bestows on my baby is top notch! Take your pet to her!

    Anthony is an excellent groomer. He handled Lulu with kid gloves since she is always anxious to get groomed. I would recommend Petsmart to anyone.

    I am so disappointed in this location. Adalis Moody groomed my mother's dog last week and this is the worst groom I have ever seen. I am a groomer I worked locally at some of these locations before. I was even a salon manager. The only reason she took her dogs here was because I'm pregnant and have not been able to groom them. This groom looks like she had to intentionally be bad. I just don't understand how she could do so bad. Lol I've groomed this dog for years and had no issues. Even with my mom and 5 other dogs running around her. She is not a biter on the table and off the table she is sweet and loving. She probably doesn't even know how to bite. There is no reason for how bad this groom is. As a old salon manager I hope she gets talked to and maybe gets some retraining done.

    This PetSmart is the bees knees! Everyone here is always polite, respectful, and in a good mood. They always have what we need when we come, and it's just generally a good experience everytime we come, plus our dog loves it!

    Are you serious? So many dead fish in aquariums! Two employees were standing right outside. How long have they been dead if the started to turn greenish? What’s wrong with management here??

    Steven, dog trainer, was wonderful! After my puppy training class I had a lot of questions for him. He spent about 45 minutes with me and was so kind and patient. He helped me with items he recommended and advice on my other rescue dog. Amazing service and kindness!!

    Left my pup for a hotel stay! She remembered once we pulled in and perked up! Best reaction to being able to have her someqhere as a home away from home. Staff is wonderful and cares for your fur baby.

    While I have my own opinions on PetSmart, including this specific location, I did want to give a shout out to a new employee at the #1740 location. His name is Mike. It's ridiculous how often PetSmart has people employed that know NOTHING about the animals in store, so it was a breath of fresh air to hear Mike actually know his stuff about reptiles and fish! Not only is he a gentle soul and very soft spoken, but he talks and educates without degradation. Thank you MIKE for caring about the often forgotten reptiles and fish and sharing that knowledge with customers. And what's even better, is he has good customer service. If you are a passionate reptile hobbyist like myself without the opportunity to visit a reptile specific store all the time, Mike will certainly make you feel better about it.

    Very unpleasant experience. I would not trust Amanda with my dog. If she mistakes seasonal allergies for an “open wound” she’s wrong. And then to add on to I was trying to bring my dog in with a baby in a stroller, and Amanda was more concerned with the fact of the door being open rather than assisting me to help get inside the dog grooming room when it was clear as day I was struggling. Will not be going here again.

    After 15 years of using petsmart for my dogs needs I was denied a stay at the petsmart hotel bc my dog is a senior. Mary at the new tampa location told me that I'm better off having my dog at another location. When I asked for specifics she said bc he's a senior dog. Terrible! Petsmart pretends to care for the animals but they are really into money making and one size fits all model. So if you're dog is young, they will take your money but if it's an elderly dog then they don't want to bother. Mary tried to tell me that it's better for me to have the dog at another location and I called her out on the fact that the store just didn't want to put in extra effort for an older dog. Shame on you! After almost 15 years of vet, grooming hotel services and shopping there this was the response - go somewhere else!

    Helpful nice staff . I always go there for my cats prescription KD food and litter. The only thing is that there's always tons of unopened boxes in the ailes. But still enough space for my cart

    Unbelievable. I just picked my cat up from Banfield pet hospital in the back of this store, and when I paid for my cats that bill I had a bag of his prescription food and asked them if that could be checked out at the same time. I was told no, there are two different computer systems used between the veterinary services and the store so I would have to check that out upfront. So after paying over $400 in veterinary bills I took my cat and the food up front and they couldn't check me out without a prescription and expected me to walk all the way to the back of the store to get some kind of a prescription from the vet to pay for the food so I left the food and I left the store with my cat. Unbelievable.

    Banfield hospital- They don’t let you go in with your animal and they right away ask you to sign up for their monthly plan. I said yes and then when the appointment was over I changed my mind because of my finances. They ended up treating me completely different. I even apologized and the girl didn’t say a word. I thanked her upon leaving and she didn’t say a word to me even though we just spent almost $400.. they talk so fast and run all these numbers by you and when you take longer than 5 minutes to decide or say no it’s like oh you’re the “complicated” customer. I did enjoy talking to the doctor and he gave me advice without spending money so thank you.

    I stopped by the Pet Hotel to get some information about boarding my cat. Mary was wonderful! She was patient with answering my questions. She gave me all of the info that I needed to convince me to actually book a reservation. She was great and I feel comfortable about leaving my cat at the Pet Hotel!

    Absolutely LOVE their seasonal pet items - costumes for dogs, cats, bearded dragons, and seasonal fun fluff for small critters like our gerbils along with grass pumpkins made for nibbling. Always a great place to bring our puppy for shopping - clean up stations conveniently located in case our pup has an accident. Friendly, helpful staff.
