Really really lovely local Indonesian food. Extremely courteous and attentive staff and when you enter, they all shout a Balinesian welcome. Loverly surroundings, and clean tables. A most welcome experience. Will go back for another visit 😊

I went there to try Balinese foods with family including kids aged 13 and 10. From net we found out this one as a famous and authentic restaurant for Balinese and Indonesian foods. Their waitress helped us to order from range of menus. The price was quite expensive. Loved their environment, flavorful and mouth-watering foods. Also liked there presentation of foods.

It all tasted good. But not amazing. Chicken satay was bland. Ribs were slightly better. The satay sauce was the most flavourful dish. Sambal was good but the crackers tasted stale/off. Cute restaurant with an open kitchen. Really very humid even with the fans on. The inside room was fully booked, which I would advise on sitting in if you can. Probably won’t return.

I’d give Heinz and his brilliant team six stars if it was an option. What a culinary adventure to experience beautiful Balinese food in a very evocative Balinese setting. It’s all so scrumptious it’s hard not to over order. And don’t forget to finish with a good Balinese coffee. My advice for a truly memorable meal - get out of your comfort zone and let the staff guide you. But also beware there are many Bumbu Bali restaurants in Bali. This restaurant and the cooking school are in Nusa Dua (Benoc is where you’ll find the restaurant). Bumbu refers to the base spice pastes that are the basis of many dishes. So it is a popular name for a restaurant. Heinz also offers a wonderful cooking class which we had attended a few days earlier (a break was necessary to give us time to emerge from that fantastic experience and make room for more from his excellent repertoire). Can’t emphasise enough how insightful the class was. Not just for understanding Balinese culture and food but also just general cooking knowledge which Heinz has in abundance and is happy to share. Be prepared for a very early morning to catch the fish, meat and vegetable markets - an education in themselves. And take the chance to sample some very good ‘street food’ and coffee. Then to the restaurant ( Heinz’ ‘other’ place - the Arte Cafe ) for a run through of the day and delightful breakfast. Then it’s several hours of cooking and learning before you sit down to eat the results. What a day!

I really liked the place. The staff was friendly- they welcomed us with singing and gave us small flowers. The food was great - the form of presentation was very impressive and it was really delicious. The prices were reasonable. It was definitely a good choice to visit Bumbu Bali.

Our first time bay since Covid and well worth the visit. The main area has been renovated and has a different layout. As always, great service and range of flavours and meals. It was good to see some of the same staff too.

Expect heavenly cuisine at this restaurant. The quality is superb, the presentation is immaculate, and the staff are friendly and attentive. If you are in Nousa dua, don't miss this opportunity. We dined there a few times and ordered a few different dishes and every time we were blown away. The Owner Mr Hans, makes sure you leave with a good memory.

Delicious vegan rice table Balinese style. One of the condiments contained shrimp but they asked in advance and gave me a vegan alternative. Beautiful and clean place. Loved the vibe and food.

This restaurant was a really lovely surprise! They welcome you with a frangipani flower at the entrance and then they give you some spices prawn crackers with the spicy samba super yummy. We ordered the set menu the Rijsttafel and prawn skewers and it was enough for the 5 of us (we weren’t much hungry). If you order this it will come With a few different option of curry and appetizer, vegetables and different serves of rice; and a delicious soup as a starter. The set menu also includes different type of sweets like pancake, ice cream, coconut rolls, rice pudding and fruits. Very lovely dinner experience.

I visited this place with friends who wanted to try traditional Indonesian cuisine. My evaluation of the cuisine is 2, I ate Nasi Goreng. Prices - 1. Service - 0 Huge for Bali service charge, and I wouldn't say anything if the service was, but the service is terrible. On the way out the cashier gave us a tantrum and ended up not giving us change. Bottom line: I have a very bad experience visiting this restaurant, can not recommend it to anyone.

First time came here. We ordered Balung Panggang (Grilled pork ribs) and Hasil Laut Bumbu Kuning (fish fillet and prawns in turmeric sauce). The grilled pork ribs was just okay, but the fish and prawns in turmeric sauce was so yummy. We ate indoor and the room was a bit meh. Recommended place for lunch/dinner.

Besides a great restaurant serving authentic local dishes, Heinz and his team run hands on Balinese cooking classes which we attended. Heinz is a great host and teacher and we learnt a lot about authentic Balinese and Indonesian food preparation and flavours. We came away with a much deeper appreciation for this fantastic food, full stomachs and memories of a great day. Thanks Heinz and co.

Here is my most favourite restaurant in Bali. All food was good. The staff strongly welcomes you and provided you the flower when you enter the restaurant. Unfortunately, the duck menu has to be ordered one day in advance, so I did not have a chance to try it. The rice served comes in two colours, white and yellow, and they recommended mixing and eating it together. Sateh sauce was so delicious with a very rich flavour.

The food was amazing, so tasty. The staff was so friendly. I enjoyed my experience. If you don't like heat, you should have your dinner indoors area. If you prefer a cooler environment, opt for indoor seating during dinner.

What a great food me and my family and I had at Bumbu Bali. Being vegetarian, we were not very confident about the options and taste. But we were amazed with vegetarian options and the taste of the food. We called before visiting, and they confirmed that sitting is available. Fortunately, the place was right opposite to our hotel, so it was very convenient. Staff was so welcoming and soft. Clearly explained each individual item's ingredients. The ambience is great, too. Both indoor and outdoor sitting options.

Great vegetarian Nasi Campur! This was such a tasty dish, I highly recommend for people looking to try some delicious Indonesian food without all the meat. More than enough for one person.

This was our second visit to Bumbu Bali for dinner. Their sate udang (prawn skewers) are really nice and yummy!! Nasi goreng and pork ribs were made in an authentic Indonesian way. Food was presented very well! But, Nasi goreng and chicken fried rice were very dry, a little gravy with the same would help.

My second time visited this restaurant. There’s nothing much nice restaurant but Bumbu Bali one of the best for local food, I bring my friend to try for the first time nasi campur Bali and he loves it very much.

Very delicious and fresh food. Kitchen looks very clean too, and service was friendly and quick. Fair value for the price - which is above local warungs but far below the nearby 5* hotels restaurants despite being really yummy. Recommended !

We had a wonderful meal there tonight. The staff were fantastic and the meals delicious. I can personally recommend a Mixed Satay platter and the Balinese Beef Rendang (barely spicy at all). The Nasi Campur was enjoyed by many at our table in Pork, Chicken and Seafood varieties. I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to Nusa Dua.

Lovely balinese restaurant. You will feel warmth when you step in to this place. Love their cocktails and authentic food. Even the prawn cracker and sambal sauce which has a real spice kick was yummy.Only place i visited twice in Bali and would visit them next time i go to Bali

Very delicious and authentic food! The quality of the meat and veggies is high and everything is seasoned well. Service is excellent. Make a reservation from your hotel and they will include transportation for free. We had papaya salad with duck, chicken in coconut milk (curry), and my husband had the grilled ribs. We had the veggie salad. It’s not really a salad but it is sautéed veggies in a yummy peanut sauce. It was so much food we didn’t even come close to finishing. And the mango juice is very good!

Great authentic Balinese and Indonesian food prepared under supervision of long term expat!.if you are a spice hound this is nirvana. Atmospheric vibe attentive knowledgeable staff. If you need more culture come when a side of traditional dance is served.

Nice little restaurant close to the Grand Mirage. Was quiet when I arrived, but the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Nice atmosphere. Ordered a Pina Colada and the Beef Rendang. Thank goodness I didn't order a starter as my main was huge! Could definitely share between two. The taste of the actual beef was a bit bland, but the rest was tasty. Would recommend. Cost of my dinner for one was 300,000RP.

Yum! A must if you’re by Nusa Dua. Amazing food, great taste and service. Very nice atmosphere and sometimes they offer a car service from your hotel. Everyone from rich to poor comes here. Quite authentic and fun.

Very happy with both Balanese Beef rendeng and grilled chicken. Food was not dry. Generous amount. And cost is very good. Food was served fairly quick, did not need to wait long. Customer service was very nice. 10 out of 10.

This is an underrated restaurant in our opinion and we strongly recommend anyone who is at Nusa Dua to try Bumbu. It’s really good in our opinion and I thought the taste of the food beats the famous Made Warung. I hope they open more outlets even at Seminyak area The sate skewers and beef rendang are awesome and we love them a lot :) even after leaving Bali, I still miss their food ;)

This fabulous place served authentic tasting, but presented on a next level balinese cuisine. With that amount of delicious food the only flaw was that we needed more fluffy rice. Reasonable prices and the servers went above and beyond for us. What an enjoyable experience after a long morning of water sports at Benoa.

What an amazing experience. Starting with the way they welcome us, all dinner was very good. It's a restaurant and also a school of cooking, where young cookers can be seen working with high performance. Very clean, was the best restaurant for me in 20 Bali days!
