I'm sad to write this as I'm actually a huge fan of breakout. Have been playing many of their rooms because me and my boyfriend really enjoy it. Even supported them during Mco and bought their Enigma gift box. They have always been amazing. I came here last Tuesday with a friend, after planning for months ahead and both of us taking annual leave. I'm not sure if it's because they were very busy or had too many rooms running at once, but the game master spoke extremely fast. My friend has some medical conditions but because the game master was not very friendly, we were unable to voice it out during the briefing. During the the game, there was a part where we got stuck on so we didn't break out in time. When the game master came in to get us, we were asking how could we get to the right answer to breakout, she was dismissive and told us we can ask her questions outside if we wanted. When we did and told her our thought process and how we felt one of the clues doesn't give the correct answer, she was once again dismissive and hurried and said "it's not, you must have seen it wrongly" Sad to say my friend didn't have a very good first experience and I am left feeling sad that I won't be back again. :( Hope that you can look into this, I really feel the game master is a huge part of the experience and you can tell when someone actually enjoys their job vs someone who just wants you in and out etc. *Edit: I received a really nice email from Breakout's management with an apology and explanation. I would like others to know that they constantly do take feedback into consideration and always do strive to improve 😊 appreciate it.

tougher than i thought! Rush, our game master was super friendly & kind. the rooms themselves were quite well decorated, clean, fun & the puzzles were way tougher than i thought (we took the "easiest" one too). will definitely come back to try out their other rooms & to other outlets as well :)

Fun escape rooms, we did 5 rooms here in total. All puzzles made sense are fun (which can't be said for a lot of other escape rooms). The rooms are well decorated and well maintained. The staff is friendly and patient. We just had one issue: we played a total of 5 rooms as 2 people, I think that the time limit puts you in a rush, some people might like the time pressure but even if you get stuck a little (for like 5 min) it means that there won't be time enough to complete the room. Also on top of that its already harder with less people but breakout has abilities for each player, meaning if you're just 2 people you miss out even more. I feel like if there is just 2 players let them each choose 2 abilities. While the abilities are a good idea I feel like they need more polish, for example: - you are kind of forced to take the light bringer every game anyways, cause the rooms are quite dark - We picked the oracle in 3 different rooms and to be honest its the most useless ability, it shows you things that will be used to solve the puzzle, but these things are kinda obvious and you can just find them easily, Overall its a fun experience but expect to only complete the easy rooms if you are just 2 players, to beat the hard rooms in the time limit you need more players or a lot of skill and luck.

Been here a couple of times and completed all the rooms. Compared to some of the other Breakout experiences available, I think this is definitely the best - hence the repeat visits. I like the story lines and themes. The game masters really get you into the experience too. The puzzles are a mix of simple and difficult, the little enhancements and clues definitely come in handy. Overall a great way to spend time with friends. Oh, and they give a discount if you want to try another room after you finish the first!

Passed by while exploring Nu Central and was intrigued by the crowd waiting for their turn. Went in as a curious tourist and Mr Low was fantastic and patient to explain to us on how the system works. Given that we walked in and that the system only allows online booking, he dedicated a fair bit of his time to get us a slot within the same day. That is amazing customer service! As for the actual experience, it was fun for us and we enjoyed the complexity of it that required teamwork. I will not spoil the surprise for readers of this review so go forth and enjoy yourself!

We went there at 30 April 2023, all the staffs are nice and friendly. Love our game master Shima as she's very fun and helpful. We played Secret of Hocus that day.

We had a great experience here. We chose a family friendly theme and my kids enjoyed it very much. The game master is very friendly and he gave clear instruction and information. We didnt manage to escape the room. But if given more time, probably we can figure it out. Overall a great experience and we will definitely explore more rooms. Thumbs up.

4 of us played Dreadnought. It's not as hard as i thought it would. Finding clues and passcode room after room. Game master will be observing, and they will come to help if necessary. Each player will receive a special ability to help with the breakout (can't remember the exact name) we have the torchlight, extra 5 mins, the person who gets to see the clues, and lock master (ability to guess the password/passcode) They have lockers to put all your belongings, no phones and empty pockets before going in. Book online they have all the information of ongoing promotion especially for students. They also gave us a discount of 15% for our next game. Better call in and book your time slot, and do arrive 15mins earlier as there will be a short briefing. They gave us badge pins according to our ability after we successfully broke out.

Went for Materia Medica but didn’t breakout in time, with just one more puzzle left. Despite not finishing, we still enjoyed the game, definitely worthy of their 40% success rating because we came here just hours after breaking out of a 65% success rate game in Avenue K (Project Fallout) 😂. However, lacking 2 stars were due to few reasons: 1. The Chinese lady with thick spectacle frames and bangs was particularly unfriendly, and looked like she didn’t wanna be there 🧐 2. Another reason was because we wanted to use the Locksmith skill, but when we clicked the obstacle number in the monitor, there was a pop up saying that the skill cannot be used for that obstacle/something about it being invalid. I know there’s a YES and NO button, but our instinct was to click NO right? Called the gamemaster (the same unfriendly gamemaster in the comment no.1 above) and she just told us to ignore the pop up, then bypass and click YES. Well, we felt like that we could have saved time and this technical error would have been avoided if they removed the pop up for that particular obstacle. 3. Funniest one was after the gamemaster informed us that we failed to breakout at the last puzzle. We asked the game master to solve the 1st obstacle, even she couldn’t solve it after few minutes 😂 Luckily when we played, we actually found a loophole and solved it using another lame method. We told her to give up demonstrating it for us as it was taking too long time and she looked like she was struggling. We wanted to save her face too 😅 Overall, we enjoyed the games so far, tip to beginners is to just enjoy and make sure to immediately use Locksmith skill when you see the logo in the room. That will save you easily 5-10 mins!

Dreadnought room. Easy, 60% rate success. Literally, finding a numerical password among all the clues, just to open doors after door after door. Should bring extra torchlight, headlamp and led light so everbody can search own clues. We enjoy

I m ok with the escape room, but I m not happy with the Chinese lady game-master! She doesn’t sound friendly at all! We are stuck, we need help yet she doesn’t provide any help at all! The long hair guy is a much better one, at least his hint is more helpful even though not a direct answer! When I asked for helps again, the lady came in again and sounded in an unpleasant manner “pls use ur clues, else u will keep calling me in!” That is really upsetting! This will be my first and last visit to the Breakout at NU Sentral, due to such an unpleasant experience! I m so sorry for my frens from Kuantan to encounter such a poor experience!!

Although the escape room was much to be raved for and amazing, I would love to praise the two staffs that briefed and explained the game to us. Being introverts who'd typically feel out-of-place when experiencing things for the first time overseas, the staff there made everything better with their amicable and joyful personalities - which added onto the fun experience that was already felt. Kudos to your team!

Good suggestion and offer by staff which kids below 12 are able to get student discount and is cheaper compared to buying online. Please remember to book the room before you come. Staff and gamemasters are super helpful and professional. Is a good experience for my family and will like to come again. We suggest the management to allow more time for parents with kids as it is too rush for us and we have no time to explain to my kids the puzzle and get them involve more

It was a first time for a group of 7 ladies who are well above 60 years old. We truly enjoyed ourselves, being silly and trying to be intuitive most of the time but actually we were just curious and just want to make sure we can fix the puzzle to breakout. Some of us are definitely going back to attempt other rooms

Finally went to our first game after so long! Tried Materia Medica and it’s very challenging but we definitely enjoyed it! I think certain things have improved since my last visit (before pandemic). If you don’t know what else to do in your free time, try this! A lot of rooms to choose from and it’s a great game to do with family and friends ❤️

The area looked so fancy and well-kept, even better than the other outlets! Out game master was really nice with the briefing and gave us free gifts. The rooms were clean and the puzzles were interesting. The hints were pretty obvious so probably try not to ask for any 😅 Anyways, had a great time and thank you Breakout!!

Having played all rooms available in both the Klang Valley's outlets except for 1, Breakout used to be so much more fun, engaging and professional! Long gone was where a game master who would be enthusiastic and kind enough to ask us what puzzles we would like to understand better, or walk through the full storyline. We all had the same feeling during our visit yesterday that the game master just wanted us to leave as soon as the game master came in to get us. That is not the spirit to be encouraged, isn't it? Not sure if it is because SOP changed, if so, please bring back the SOP where your game master will ask us if we have any questions, and not just try to get us out of the room without trying to clarify anything. We were trying to ask questions about the puzzle as well as the storyline, but the game master was dismissive about our questions and seems unwilling to resolve our confusion as well. It may take a bit more time for the game master to clarify our questions and run through the storyline, but this will make a whole lot of difference. Please properly train your game master as they play a big part in the customer experience and satisfaction in Breakout.

Overall, good! But i think it would be great if there is a bit of details on the room (ie:level of difficulty, theme) so that when we plan how many people should we play it.

Came here for a team building. Good fun. Some of the rooms are challenging. Instructions at the start of the activity were good. The time to breakout is limited so need to ensure good team work. The place gets booked fast and they only hold reservations for 10 minutes. Better to get in early

It's my first escape room experience ever , overall the room I picked was not difficult but it definitely gets your brain thinking. Awesome experience. They have 3 outlets for breakout. Before this i have tried at Avenue K. They have different theme for different outlet. go check out every theme. I choose dreadnought as my skill are very basic. It is truly a new experience. It does not matter if you able to finish or not. As long as you have fun with your groups.

My first escape room experience and definitely won't be the last. We play with 6pax, first of the room is too dark I know it suppose to give the eerie feeling but give annoyance instead. The terminal to use character special ability is not available in each section so making us not use the power since we don't want to backtrack. Finally bit peeves that we cannot take picture while playing the game, it's not like we want to take pictures ourselves and spoil the puzzle / games, we play this as a college project so no picture taken to be make as proof we played besides pictures taken outside the premise before and after playing.

Probably the best escape room operator in the country now. I have tried their rooms a few times now, and I haven't been disappointed. First, the rooms are all unique to the venue. Some of them are related, or in a series, so you get a more immersive experience. Second, the rooms are ingenious! There are almost always a hidden room/ chute and I'm genuinely surprised every time even when I expected it to be there. The rooms itself are well maintained, clean and beautifully decorated to the theme. The puzzles/ challenges itself are detailed and beautifully fleshed out, and you can easily get into character. The puzzles are balanced and there are no distractions or red herrings more than necessary that sometimes can really frustrate you like at other 'escape' operator I'm looking forward to experience thir new offerings the haunt-u series Overall, five stars, easy

We played Perpetual here on 22 July 2023 and was hosted by Anna our gamemaster. She was very patient to explain to us our roles and powers, and I was impressed by the thought put into and the explanation after the game of the elements and storyline behind the gameplay and experience. Great experience and team game!!!

Breakout is one of the better escape rooms in the country for sure. The puzzles were challenging but not impossible to solve, and the props around the room were really good, although some of them did seem like it is in need of a replacement. On top of that, the prices were really great, escpecially if you are a student. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. I couldn't recommend this company enough for first-timers and regulars.

Enjoyed the escape room as I always have, great mechanics and interesting storylines. But customer service from the front desk was quite bad and left a bad taste in my mouth, that’s why I docked two stars. It’s such a shame because I really enjoyed the room but then ended the day on a bad note. To be honest, I don’t understand the point of the leaderboard if you don’t allow people to get their names up there “because it will be unfair to the other customers who solved it first” even though we finished it in a shorter time and we didn’t get any additional help to solve the room. The funny thing is we feel punished for solving it quickly, which kind of defeats the purpose. We left feeling like our win was taken away from us. If you’re going to implement the leaderboard, you can probably take a leaf out of Escape Room in Times Square that resets their leaderboard weekly, so there’s no issue with your perception of “fairness” or whether other customers would be disappointed to see their names knocked off the leaderboard.

It is a great activity to do with your family and friends. I have tried 7 of the rooms so far (both NU and Avenue K) and I love each one of them. The Game Master that I got each time of the game are all so nice, the rooms are amazing, and their puzzles are definitely great! Thanks Breakout fot the amazing experiences!!
