The Jing Gang Shan temple is just a stone's throw away from the Bat Cave Temple at the foothill of Penang Hill. Dedicated to Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (地藏王菩萨) it is an eye-catching temple as you will not miss the golden stupa in front and the tall doors (enter via the side steps or from the slip road further up from the door). An imposing statue of Earth Store Bodhisattva stands in the main shrine hall. Don't forget to head to the back portion of the temple to see a collection of golden stupas. This temple is also responsible for another amazing set of golden stupas (Golden Stupa Penang Hill located further up the hill (mid hill of Penang Hill) which requires a quite challenging hike to view.

I first came to this place many years ago when the Earth Treasure Bodhisatta statue was erected, without the altar, temple and its surrounding structures. Now it's heavily constructed and operational. Steep location. Worshipers are advised to park nearby at lower ground and take a short walk.

The Group of Stupa in front is beautiful. But please go to the back of the iemple, the Stupa is spectacular!

Amazing and tranquil view. We were hiking and lost our ways as it was our first try for this route, we were so lucky to meet other friendly hikers that guide us to the top. Really stunning view and recommended.
