Wish I could rate food and service separately. 5 ⭐️’s for the food, best authentic Indian around... 👍 for the chefs. 3 ⭐️’s for the poor service by the female waitress; it seems serving subcontinent background seems either embarrassing or can’t be bothered. Hope it would only improve!

Tasty curries, and plenty of GF and vegan options. Very nice and accommodating staff. We'll definitely be back.

I spent $95 here and all 3 naan were undercooked, mango Lassi was warm and all dishes were way to hot when I ordered mild/medium spice. I called to see if I could arrange some sort of discount or replacement but was met with a very aggravated lady on the phone who was ready for what seemed like a defensive argument. I think you can see based off past reviews a lot of previous customers had this same issue. In the end all I was offered was free naan at my next visit. Very unprofessional and basically accused me of lying that the mango lassi wasn’t warm.

Great food and ambience. The staff was really friendly and looks after you. Curry’s were a bit high on salt. Men’s toilet is a no go. Overall good experience for a small town dine-in restaurant.

Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Everything we had was delicious. Service was great and the decor is lush. We really enjoyed our meal here and look forward to returning.

We had a chicken tikka entree and shared a butter chicken with jeera rice. It was nothing short of sensational!!! We’re English and it was hands down one of the best Indians we’ve eaten in Australia. Highly recommend!!

We ended up discovering this place on our way to Sydney ! I guess this is the only Indian restaurant in Tarre ! The ambience of this place is really nice ! The lounge area is designed very nicely and has a feel of India ! The staff were friendly and accommodating! Loved the papdi chat and the veg biryani ! The Malai kofta was not cooked very well and none of us liked it , but other than this, the food was good !if you are in Tarre ,and craving Indian food, you should visit this place !

My family went to Jashan to have lunch one afternoon. As my 7 year old wanted to have a burger, we got one from outside. At Jashan, they haven't mentioned anywhere (outside) that BYO is not allowed. Although the restaurant was empty, the lady who manages the place did not let my son have his burger inside the restaurant. Her attitude was good enough for us to cancel the order and find some better place for lunch. I can understand if the restaurant is full or even had a single customer. But refusing a small kid to have his lunch was the meanest thing one can do. Shame!!

This was our third visit but I think it will be our last. Beef Vindaloo was too hot, we eat birds eye chilli at home everyday but struggled to eat this meal. Vegetarian curries x 2 both ordinary. The Samosa was delicious but the colour/flavour of the yoghurt dipping sauce was off. The lamb chops were great. The prices were higher than listed on the menu. She had just put them up and not changed the menu. ….and the final kick, we were traveling through to Coffs from Port Steven’s and we needed to use their charger. The didn’t have one although brought out some shonky thing that they said belonged to their children. We stayed there one hour, our battery went up 1 percent. We only stopped there to charge. I think the final bill was around $160. We packaged most of it as takeaway but we didn’t finish it at home.

This is a second time we had dinner here. Food is perfect. Staff is very friendly and helpful. But most annoying thing is price of food are not same as mentioned in menu(as refer to the staff it will be higher than mentioned in menu didn’t know the price of each food ) They have provide the takeway containers for leftovers and charge $3 each for a container. Very good experience so far hope a best for your business .

We went for dinner on Easter Sunday when we were on our way back to Sydney. The owner welcomed us with open heart. The restaurant was nearing its closing hours, however they served us with amazingly delicious food and quick service. The owner and the staff are extremely kind. They also made masala tea for us as we still had long way to drive home. Much much recommended if u are in Taree or travelling around.

We always buy Indian take away. The volume here is half what you get in Sydney. We ordered samosa, chicken korma, rogan gosh, fish curry. Sauce too watery. Very little meat.

Chicken was undercooked and goat meat was overcooked. Food was definitely not fresh and taste was below mediocre. I have vomited twice since and my children keep going to the toilet. I am only giving them a one star for good service.

Jashan Lounge is the highest-ranking restaurant in Taree open for dinner during the week. There has been care to replicate the style and atmosphere of an Indian tea house/restaurant. The front of house staff (Indian lady and an Aussie girl) were attentive, polite almost like it was back in the days of the Raj and discreet - highly commendable, even with a bit of 21st century banter. The serving sizes were just right. We were 3 so each selection was adjusted for the odd number as if by magic. One of the other 2 in our party grew up in India so he knew what to order. I just ate and enjoyed. Dishes just kept coming ~ the flavours, colours and aromas were fabulous. Could barely move when finished and, including one drink each, was only $50ph ~ bargain! Easy to see why Jashan Lounge is so highly ranked. Thoroughly recommend 👌.

My husband Jason and I have travelled extensively and this restaurant is our favourite place to eat. The food is always amazing, the service is impeccable and when we travel to Taree we always go. Sometimes 2 nights in a row. The wait staff are amazing and may not see us for 6 months but as soon as we walk in, they even remember what we always order. I could eat there everyday!!!!

The food, atmosphere & service is first rate here. We’ve been there twice and both times the food was unbelievably good. I can’t wait to come back to Taree so I can eat here again.

Tasty garlic naan. Ordered masala chicken curry and palak paneer. Good curry and service. And they kindly provided us an off menu dish - samosa chaat.

Found this place through searching reviews online for a restaurant in Taree and we couldn’t have been happier. Loads of vegan options, wonderful friendly staff, child friendly and incredible authentic Indian food. Would definitely highly recommend.

Good India Food in Taree!! Summary - freshly prepared dishes, breads are light and well made, hotness of food is made to order (mild to spicy), servings are usual size (not overtly big, you may want to order more than usual in breads) We ordered Dal Makhani, Mix Veg, Chicken Tikka Masala, 5 Tandoori Roti and 2 Butter Naan for 4 adults - the restaurant gave us plenty of onion salad in request as well! Taste was great, we were craving for Indian food and weren’t disappointed at all! Plenty of chicken pieces in curry, mix veg has seasonal veggies like zucchini peas carrots etc and dal makhani was yummy more like homemade dal. Naan size is small so go for a couple of naans more than usual, and rotis were light and great! Overall - 4, as for Indian food this is a safe place to have fresh hot Indian dishes. Worthy recommendation for hot food!

My girlfriend wanted to try an indian restaurant in Taree and I am not really into indian food. However. It was a pleasant surprise. Not only the food, which was very well done and presented but, the actual interior which can be witnessed in the photos I took. I ordered a Lamb Nilgiri which is lamb slow cooked. The meat was very soft and tender and it fell apart. It wasnt too hot either just right. I hate hot food.
