Beautiful town square with lots of events occurring during the summer. We were there during the film festival '22. Plenty of places to eat and cheaper than in Tallinn. A few nice shops around the square too.

A two day stay is required here as it’s an enjoyable place. Lots of good restaurants to try delightful dishes. The square has lively colour to wonderful buildings.

The most beautiful Christmas Market in Estonia😍 Ice rink in winter time around the statue (free if you have your own skates otherwise you can rent for ca 3 euros), small glass cottages with different activities, snacks and drinks and a real fire. Created for locals but as tourists were very welcome, too 😊

The main square of the city of Tartu. There are lot of different activities depending on season. The most important place to visit in Tartu.

One of the nicest squares in Tartu. In summertime crowded with nice terraces and in wintertime the hotspot with a Christmas tree and market. Nice time for making a sleigh ride.

Amazing center place. Has many activities during the year. It serves as a main passing point with a lot of restaurants, clubs and stores on the side streets. There is also a park and shopping center nearby. It get busy on weekends/party days and it's a beautiful place overall

There was a skating rink in Rituše Square, a beautiful fir tree stood, a bonfire was burning for warming up, the mood was great.

We were here on the peak winter after christmas day, it was damn cold and the skating ring was open. Its good and worth visiting when you are in tartu. Nearby river was frozen and you have great view of town hall square from river side bridge. There is this famous kissing students statue as well you can found here.

Town Hall is an amazing place, and the vibe is extraordinary. Lots of nice cafés and restaurants around. One can visit in the evenings to enjoy the surroundings. Some upgradation work is going on as the city has been declared as the cultural capital of Europe, and there are 300+ events lined up in 2024. Town Hall Square is the centre of all tge events and activities.

Keskeinen paikka Tartossa. Kivasti terassit sijoitettu keskelle toria. Harmi kun Raatihuone sattui olemaan juuri käydessämme remontissa.

Tartu has got to be one of my favorite locations to visit in Estonia. The weather this year seems to be rather hot and humid compared to previous visits. There are several shops to visit and eating establishments. The walking around helps to burn the calories. Pay attention to the ground as it is marked showing historical markers or ages past. Friendly people who live, work, and study in Tartu. I look forward to visiting once again.

👍 That was the best thing to do in tartu. This place is closer to city, you can take a bus but recommend to take a taxi if you want to reduce walking. This is applicable only in case if you are not having your own vehicle. Its fun to take photos inside the house so go for it. If you are not that inter...

😐 It's a regular waterpark. It has three tube slides, a child area, sports pool, saunas and a cash/card bar. It was made a long time ago and shows it in it's design making it feel more dilapidated than it actually is.

🫤 You can visit the church, but it's not worth it paying the fee and going up 138 stairs steps as the obsertory is not well maintained and the view from up there (through glass) is super ordinary and not interesting as you see in the following photo I took:
