After decades staying in another city. I finally make my way home and decided to visit my favourite hangouts during my younger days the popular'Burmese Pool' in Taiping. I still haven't found the answer as to why this wonderful waterfall is named 'Burmese Pool'. I really missed my once favourite joint with fresh flowing stream water and the fond memories that lingers in my mind of it's serenely beautiful nature build up. Though many changes are sighted, from free to pay parking, red earth to marvel road, wooden to cemented bridge, without sheds to resting huts, but one thing remains intact is the flowing stream fabulously unchanged with the ever clear water and the fascinating and enchanting surrounding. It was indeed a delightful moment to cherish those bygone days, unfortunately upon entering the compound has given me a fright. The place was dirty with scattered rubbish everywhere. There were plenty of dustbins but not properly utilised and the smell was horrible. Those white foamy boxes can be seen scattered every where I visited. I sincerely hope that the authority with take immediate action positively to clean this place and take punitive action on these litterbugs. It's a waste to have such a beautiful recreation park poorly managed. I would be the first to applaud these positive efforts to improve cleanliness and to maintain a hygienic surrounding for visitors to enjoy.

This recreational Burmese pool has been very popular even during my teens. I will make a point to come here if I visit Taiping. Today it is still popular with added amenities such as food stalls and restrooms. Today, however, after the afternoon rainstorm the place was deserted and we had the place for ourselves.

I like this place. Its about 5min drive from Taiping lake. Enjoy the nature waterfall flowing along the jungles. Cool water rushing over the rocks.... But have to be careful of the slippery rocks in Burmese Pool. The forest and everything is lovely. The water looks beautiful. We saw lovely butterflies ... birds birping and the water is clear and lovely. Best place to rest your mind .... absorb the fresh air and listen to nature whispering sweet sounds of forest music to you.

Great place to escape to. Very quick trip from the city. Not too hard to find. The nearest spot to the parking is also pretty nice. There’s no need to hike up too far. Water is clear and cold and nice. Very refreshing. Not a lot of people even though we went on a public holiday. Would be nice to come again and do a proper picnic. There’s a lot of garbage though. I wish people would be more considerate of the environment.

Excellent way to calm your nerves. Visitors don't clean up after they're done so trash is found in some areas

Went there at 730am, and these are the photos taken. Definitely a better choice to go in the morning. The place is pristine, but I think more can be done to make it a better tourist's attraction.

After a trip to Spritzer Ecopark, we decided to visit the Burmese Pool. The road leading up to this place looked kind of spooky but the entrance to the area looked okay. We were charged rm2 for parking and there was no other charges. The Burmese Pool is actually a flowing river. The water looked clear and clean but there was a lot of garbage around the dustbins... We crossed the bridge and walked uphill before turning left at a surau and walked down a small path and saw (what the guy at the store said) the actual Burmese Pool. Here, the 'pools' looked really inviting with some parts appeared really deep. There are also more flat places for a picnic. Apparently there is also a really nice resort if we walked on (after the surau). Did not get a chance to visit... maybe next time. Hope that something is done to take care of the rubbish because truly, the place has potential.

The river were calm at night, making it a perfect spot for camping. The area was clean but the toilet was not really. Sadly it can be improved in the future.

We came on a weekday and there was hardly anyone here. We walked up the slope to a small entrance to the upstream. The streams were nice and great for a swim and relax. The surroundings are quite clean too. The place is quite poorly maintained and organized. The shops outside were all closed. Not recommended to visit alone as there are monkeys and nobody is around. A little scary.

A lovely spot for hang out during this hot weather. The lata is open during the PKPP, so let us enjoying the nature with our families and friends. The a more spot uphill after the bridge, so may choose to picnic near the bridge or trekking a bit uphill then turn to the left & you’ll see a building ( surau ).

Water stream is shallow and cool. So even children can bath. But in holidays, it's so crowded and its hard to get right place to keep belongings. Very less parking space with 2 way road to this spot. So the pathway is bit congested. Nvm, it's worth for a relaxing bath on a weekend.

The waterfall / pool itself is nice. The water was crystal clear. However, the cleanliness of the pool / waterfall area is a disappointment. Big time. The rubbish (food containers, baby dipers etc.) is everywhere. Strictler rules should be implemented to preserve this place.

Refreshing in this climate but foreigners do get stared at a lot and need 'modest' batching suits due to the local culture and also I hope that the river that feeds this pool is not polluted. There are, of course, mosquitoes (which is normal).

This was done in midweek so no one else except for me and my kids. Parking is at rm2 now. Also beware of monkeys if u bring any food with u.

The place is beautiful I come here every time I come to taiping i go here to this beautiful waterfall and scenic landscape the water is fresh only come straight from the mountain and it's clean the only thing is the surroundings is very dirty and the local government should clean it up and the owners and residents and visitor should make an effort to clean it up! there's rubbish and nappies and diapers and packaging everywhere apart from that the place is just so beautiful this and lake garden can take you a whole day to explore

Good to soak in this waterfall water for a refreshing day and cool down oneself on a hot day. Itsfree of charge except RM2 parking fees. It's pack during weekend. Beware of the free roaming monkeys which may snatch your belonging and food. Avoid feeding and disturbing them.

Nice cool place to enjoy nature. Take a cool dip in the river. Good for family and kids. Precaution to take, if raining in the hills avoid going into the river, may have strong rushing water...

Nice little pools in the river to cool of and have a pinic. There is way to much trash here, locals should be ashamed for throwing garbage after they are finished. I picked up many glass bottles discarded near river and handfuls of plastic. If you walk/boulder upstream 100m from the upper area (turn left 50m past abandoned paint ball park) you will find cleaner spots and pools, though not as deep. Also be aware of flash floods if its rainy.

In a small town where there are not so many touristy places, this can be bring you closer to nature. The place is in 100-150 mtrs in the jungle and you can hear the insects sounds while walking towards the pool. Flowing river water is very refreshing and can easily spend an hour or so in the water.
