The place itself isn't ugly and it has a nice courtyard open to the sky. I found it interesting that the staff wear microphones and earpieces, presumably to communicate orders. I had the "tsar-style" meat. If that is what was served to Tsars, I am not surprised that Nicholas did not want to rule the Russian empire! It was nothing but a few chunks of meat and a few slices of baked potato. It was probably the least interesting meal I have had in Tashkent. The tea was also supposed to have thyme in it, but it just had a variety of other green leaves. I was told that I could not order the armenian food as it was "special order". But maybe I didn't understand what they were saying. No one seemed to speak any English, and my Russian is terrible. Luckily, there is an English menu. Wait staff were polite and helpful, as far as they could be given the language barrier. Quite efficient too.

The best shashlik restaurant with reasonable price. Many kinds of meats are prepared. Good restaurant.

So glad U Vlad’s is back open for business after a tasteful renovation and facelift. I didn’t realize how much I love this place until it closed for several months. Salads and Shashlik are excellent, pork and lamb are some of the best. Beer is always cold and fresh. Servers are great and patient with translation ! My favorite in Tashkent!

The place has decent food, I tried shashlik, but it was a bit far from wow! I believe it has a good reputation rooting in the past, but now there are many more competitive choices for foodies. The beer was good, though. Fair value for money.

Arguably the best pork bbq in Tashkent. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant - this is not the place for you. However if your goal is a delicious bite of food - the place to go.
