Pluses: The breakfast is easily the highlight of this hotel, although the friendly staff is also a big plus. Rooms are clean and have good AC. Manager and owner are very friendly and speak very good English. Can arrange touristy trips around the area. Minuses: Bathrooms are not great, and water pressure can be an issue. If you don't ask, staff won't clean anything. Internet is basically non-existent, and the owner has lots of excuses to not do anything about it.

Stayed here a couple times since late 90's and it gets better each time I come. This successful family-owned business is now in the hand it's new generation and it keeps progressing. The original two-storied wooden buildings are now upgraded with better amenities and more comfortable. The rooms in the east side have views as far as eyes can see. And of course the breakfast is fabulous and you will dine like a king. It may not be the modern hotel but has an old charm. The service here is probably a secret to the successful hospitality business. You're surrounded with many helping hands and friendly smiles from the moment you walk in to the hotel and until you leave. There are a few things they can improve. However, you'll forgive the small needs and definitely enjoy your stay here.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights and we would definitely repeat. The host was extremely attentive, as well as the staff (not all of them spoke English though). The rooms were cosy and the bed extra comfortable. The breakfast was beyond amazing!!!! And they have the coolest toilet paper holders I've ever seen! 😜 we recommend it wholeheartedly!

We stayed here for two nights to go with the train to Kalaw. It was more than just a stop on the way but an unforgettable experience! The owner and all the staff are very caring and helpful and can tell you a lot about life in Myanmar! We had the best breakfast during our whole trip - we got more than 10 different dishes to try and couldn't finish all of it! Nice room (standard) and nice relaxing atmosphere. Beautiful villages with very friendly people around so you can spend a day or two exploring the surroundings! Stayed September 2016, travelled as a couple

Super in many ways. Very nice and friendly staff and owners and a great breakfast. The wooden house is very charming. A new big concrete building is being built, which most probably won't offer the present atmosphere of a home stay.

Very comfortable and great service. The breakfast is as good as others say. They grow most of the fruit themselves. Our group appreciated the table on the veranda for hanging out and eating together. Beautiful surroundings.

Nice Resort, caring staff, friendly owners who really care about their guests. For this area a pretty nice place, even if the rooms are a bit outdated I'll highly recommend this place. Breakfast is awesome and too much to eat :-) Will come back if around again.

Friendly and helpful staffs, neat and tidy traditional style room decoration, nice breakfast. The only cons of this hotel is the sound insulation. Voices and noises can be hear from outside or inside the rooms.

Traditional style hotel with budget and upgraded rooms. Very relaxed environment and overall the garden and the hotel is beautiful. The hotel is being expended and the restaurant is one of the best in the area. Do not miss the free breakfast.

I stayed here with my wife and two friends for two nights in January 2018. We were initially worried, since there were a great many construction projects going on, but it ended up being great! The staff are super friendly and the breakfast is by far the best I’ve been served at a hotel in Myanmar. It’s slightly away from the busy, dusty center of town and minutes away from the road that takes you up to Thandaunggyi, which is a fantastic day trip. Caveat emptor: there is extreme variability between the rooms. Ask for S1 or S2, as these are palatial terrace rooms overlooking rice paddies and gardens: room R5 is a tiny double bedroom not dissimilar from any random highway guesthouse in Myanmar. Showers are surprisingly good across the board.
