    Supposedly the legendary lemang vendor in Tebing Tinggi. I could not really say much about this food, but forget srikaya. This is meant to be paired with durian! A perfect matrimony that no man should put apart.

    The legendary lemang seller. Lemang is a typical food, considered to be originated from West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. The lemang being sold in Tebing Tinggi City usually made by the seller of Minangnese (of West Sumatra) descendants. It is made by filling bamboo tube with sticky-rice grains, coconut milk and certain spices, then roast the tube in open fire. The result is a sort of rice cake that is extremely savory, rich, fluffy, and sticky. Traditionally served with various sides: beef rendang, durian, fermented black-sticky-rice (tape pulut hitam), or, as for the Tebing Tinggi style lemang: with srikaya/kaya (an extremely sweet, rich custard made with yolks, coconut milk, sugar and pandan leaves).
