This place had no regard for its neighbours in the local community. The onwers prefer to block reviews rather than apologise for late night noise nuisance their "functions" cause. In response to the owners reply, this review will not be removed until an apology and acknowledgement of the disturbance received by local residents following the "event" at the beginning of June. An assurance that this will not happen again would be required. This has everything to do with this Ugbrooke House. You allowed the "Burning Nest 2018 - Portals of the Multiverse" event (I'm not making this up) to use your grounds for a week long late night rave in the guise of a creative art event. Even after complaints were made during the event no effort was made to limit disturbance to local residents and our sleep was disturbed almost every night up to 4 and 5 am. Some kind of acknowledgement of this rather than complete denial would be s start. Attached photo is the type of thing these people were getting up to in the middle of the night.

I hadn't realised just how large and picturesque the estate is. I attended a garden party and was impressed with the parking facilities among a small orchard. I will certainly go back again for a walk of the grounds and a tour of the house.

Came here on a day out with my mum, we both really enjoyed the tour and walking around the gardens. The cafe was good but a little lacking in options, and my quiche was definitely microwaved.

Ugbrooke House is the private home of the historic Clifford family. Open in June and July each year you can book a tour of the house from their web site. Fascinating architecture and artworks throughout the house. Walks around the picturesque gardens and lakes. Easy to find the house and good parking. We'll worth a visit and don't miss a delicious cream tea or cakes from the café / tea rooms.

Lovely afternoon, very interesting tour of the house, beautifully grounds. Do be aware that not particularly disabled friendly and only 30 people per tour (only 2 tours per day). Was very busy when we visited, so probably best to book ahead so you're not disappointed.

We have wanted to visit this house for years, on our visits to Devon, we finally managed to be in the area on one of its days open. Our tour guide Donna was very amusing and knowledgeable and an 1 hour 20 mins tour had gone by in a flash. A very interesting house with lots of history including some stunning interiors. The gardens were beautiful, although not very large, a very worthwhile and lovely afternoon.

Love that it's still a private house and so beautifully maintained. The grounds are stunning.

Lovely gardens. There is a lovely house to explore but this costs extra.

Having driven past the signs to Ugbrooke House for years it was great to take the opportunity to book a tour of the house and gardens. So much local history in both the house itself and its many owners. Although still privately owned it was as interesting and historical as any National Trust properties. Well worth a visit.

We arrived to a well laid out carpark and Avery friendly staff member in the welcome hut. The house guides were very informative and answered all my questions. A beautiful interior with lots to see. A pleasant cafe with super staff helpful and smiling. We wondered into the gardens, unfortunately we didn't have time to walk around the lake, but the Spanish garden was very pretty. A lovely day. Many thanks
