Here 30 years ago, and didn’t want to return, however friends booked a lovely holiday villa and I came back last year with my partner for Gay Pride. It was brilliant - the Island, facilities, Gay Pride organisation, food and drink. We loved every minute! ❤️ So we are back, this year in 2020. Of course everything has changed. Covid-19 has everyone on alert as a second wave increases. As I write this on return to the UK we will need to self-isolate for 2 weeks. This is probably putting a lot of people off travel. In September 2020 it’s very quiet. Some restaurants are still open. We’ve been to the Yumbo Centre last night and there were others but not huge numbers. Everyone is safe distancing and we are able to have a relaxing holiday, thanks to the bars and cafeterias Still open. I would encourage you to continue to visit Gran Canária for your holidays at this time especially. It’s a fabulous place, they need our help too.

I recommend going to the south where the weather is more stable and almost always sunny. Puerto Mogan, Tauro, Amadores and Puerto Rico are great options

Gran Canaria is the 4th of the Canary Islands we’ve spent time on. To be honest, we weren’t sure if we would like it as much as we do Tenerife and La Palma, but it did NOT disappoint! We only had 4 days here, but managed to fit a lot in. We did some hiking, shopping, and even went on an off-shore catamaran trip along the southern edge of the island. It was so much fun! We found some great little restaurants and bars, and of course soaked in the history of these amazing islands. Even though we were there in late October/early November, there was very little that wasn’t open. Even more surprising is that the islands were just starting to open back up after being locked down for nearly two years. The one thing we did notice was that several places seemed to be open later than we would have expected. Since this was our first time on GC, I’m not sure if this is the normal or not. We’re planning to go back later this year, so we’ll see if even more is open.

Gran Canaria is a beautiful island, full of tourists, but not in a bad way. Great food, restaurants directly on the beach, which is clean and invites to walk it. Very low parking possibilities. Best to go by cab. Great weather. The northern part features some old cities.

Very nice and small child. Coast with beautiful beaches while inland for hiking and cycling enthusiasts. The weather is ideal, only the wind that blows nonstop can be annoying, especially on cloudy days, unless of course you are a surfer or something like that. In other words, you can find all possible variants on this island. If you just want to lie down, you will find a hotel, of which there are many.

Beautiful Island for vacation. It is colder then expected in the winter, but nevertheless we had lots of fun exploring this island. Recommended is to leave Las Palmas and explore other cool places, you will not regret doing that. Gran Canaria is an island full of cool experiences and amazing places to visit. The prices are normal over here. Food is mediocre, but fine. Hiking routes are not well organized and not checked regularly. Reccomend!

Atlantic, Climate and atmosphere are a highlight. We always feel like home after so many years of being there. Corona has left its mark on the island as well. There‘s something for everyone. If biking, surfing and walking on the fabulous sand beach with its dune landscape between Maspalomas and San Agustin or the hustle and bustle of the big city Las Palmas with an awesome city beach. We highly recommend to go up-country! You won’t be disappointed.

Windy weather and wavy beaches as the island is in the ocean, which I don’t prefer. It gets cold at night. I expect hot weather, calm water and sandy beaches from a summer vacation so it is not for me. (There are some beaches they made effort on closing the water from the sides to make it calmer but those beaches are small in size) Nothing special in terms of nature except for dunes. Dunes of maspalomas is an interesting place and you can find good restaurants. I will prefer belek, kaş or marmaris for my next summer vacation.

Stayed in Mogan. Winter sun is amazing and people very friendly. Rocks to climb. Marina to get boats from. Ferry. Shopping. Beach. Has it all. What is t great is the Las Palmas airport...poor experience there and such a shame as the island is safe and lovely what I saw for 5 days in Winter sun.

Amazing winter escape for most of the northern Europe. The beach is probably the biggest attraction. Temperature in mid December was between 22 - 25. The accommodation prices are like everywhere higher in the peak season. Good choices of different types of food. Good place to experience dunes and sea / ocean at the same place.

No place is perfect. The reason for the 4 stars. The weather is always beautiful when I travel here. There are lots of shops, restaurants, and sites to see. The beaches are beautiful and great place to ride bikes.

I enjoyed my trip in Las Palmas. It was just amazing. People in Las Palmas were really friendly and welcoming. There is one of the most beautiful tourist destinations in Europe. Every thing was perfect.

Gran Canaria- a 5* island modern, clean and beautiful which will give you happiness, relax and a lot of sun. * Expect much more degrees than showing on weather apps, sometimes wind and a beautiful, warm ocean ❤️😍😍
