This
is
a
large
complex
placed
inside
the
old
fortification
wall.
The
area
is
quite
big.
The
walls
are
built
of
uncut
stones.
Probably
this
is
because
this
city
has
been
besieged
many
times
by
hordes
of
disgusting
numerous
enemies
who
have
destroyed
it
many
times.
And
as
I
guess,
there
was
no
point
in
building
high-quality
and
elegant
walls.
There
are
many
historical
and
important
things
remained
inside
this
fortress.
There
is
King
Erekle
II
Palace,
new
Telavi
Historical
Museum
and
a
couple
of
preserved
old
churches.
One
of
them,
which
is
smaller,
as
we
know,
was
built
in
the
17th
century
by
the
son
of
St.
Ketevan,
King
Teimuraz
I
of
Kakheti.
And
the
second,
comparatively
large
church
was
built
under
the
reign
of
King
Erekle
II
himself.
This
is
an
important
spiritual
place
for
Georgians.
