We didn’t actually stayed in this place but just came in to ask for directions to the nearest beach. As soon as we entered (literally 5 meters after the entrance), a man from the personnel started almost yelling at us to get out and telling us that this is a youth hostel. We told him that there is no need to be rude and that we only wanted to ask for the direction to the free beach and he said that there is no beach and that this is not an information point and we should get out immediately. I am 7 month pregnant, we were walking around for 20 min to find a beach and I found that especially rude that he didn’t want to help a women that clearly is not in the most comfortable time in her life.

Great nature arround. S Bahn station amd bus stations are near. In the summer you have one of the biggest beaches near. Rooms are clean , food is different and you can choose vegeterian, no pig meat etc. Lot of juices, coffees, teas.

The youth hostel is located in the south of Berlin directly on the Wannsee, very well located in terms of transport because it is only about 300 minutes away from the A115 (AVUS) exit Spanish Allee and yet you really don't notice anything from the motorway. The rooms are not huge, but they are big enough for 4 people. There are 2 bunk beds in the rooms and the rooms have a bathroom with a shower. I can particularly highlight the food, which really surprised me. The breakfast was more than plentiful and really left nothing to be desired - even GLUTEN-FREE is possible upon request WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. The dinner was also delicious and much better than what I knew from my youth. The staff, from the boss to the kitchen staff to the reception staff and the night porters, were super friendly and very helpful. We were there with 120 people and everything worked out perfectly - we'll be back next year when our friends from Spandau HTC's hockey tournament takes place. Best regards from Ahrensburg

We were there one night from October 23rd to 24th, 2023 as a youth group with 49 people. The service was very good, the staff very friendly. Breakfast and (warm) dinner were very rich, varied and tasted good. The rooms were clean and had good facilities. All in all, we were very satisfied and would like to come back. Thank you for everything!

Some of the food was good, but it was a bit annoying that there were ants on the table and in our spices. The rooms weren't too good either. Some have an extra storage room, but there wasn't really anything more positive. One of our mattresses had what we identified as vomit on the side. Also, we were more than four people, which is why we asked if we could use another mattress from another room we booked. After we asked at reception we were told that there is a bed frame in most rooms. However, we only found one after searching in about 10 rooms. Because of this, one of us had to sleep with his mattress on the floor. In general you can still say that some things like trash cans or chairs were broken (see pictures). To end the review on a good point: there was a pool table, table football and ping pong tables.

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The breakfast is super tasty and has a large selection. The rooms are clean and have enough storage space. The location is a bit far from the S-Bahn. So it's a 10 minute walk but it's easily doable. Very nice view of the Wannsee.

The breakfast buffet is really good and varied, even for vegetarians. There is a warm dinner and lunch is perfectly fine. The youth hostel is beautifully located on Wannsee and Grunewald. There are lots of things you can do outside or explore by bike. The rooms are equipped with enough chairs and cupboards and the cleanliness was fine. We were there as a group for 3 days. Everything was well prepared for our seminar room.

The youth hostel seems a bit older, but makes up for it with charm, friendliness and a great ambience. The room was bright and clean and the breakfast was exceptionally varied. Dinner was also delicious and there was a vegan alternative every evening. The children could play table football, table tennis and billiards and the small bar had great cocktails and delicious pizza. Thanks to the whole team!

Great hostel in lovely surroundings. Unfortunately you can't walk round the lake, but it's lovely to be so close to it. Rooms are basic as expected with a hostel, but the beds are comfy. There were 4 beds (2 bunk beds) in my room, but not all were filled. Large lockers big enough to store your case. A sink in the room and shared shower in between this room and the next. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Good choice of food for breakfast.

Location of the place is the most memorable-beautiful scenery surrounding the youth hostel: lake is behind and it is almost inside the forest! Amazing..

Great place for youth. Clean, well kept rooms, good service. Peaceful lakeside location, absolute quiet, and in close proximity to the center of berlin.

Insane good Jugendherberge! I stayed there from Friday evening to Sunday lunch. Never had such a big variety of things. First of all the breakfast & dinner ALSO VEGAN <3 Breakfast had fruits, different bread, jams, tee, coffee, etc. Dinner I could choose from 2 different hot meals. One with meat and one vegan. Also the freetime activities. I was there end of October. Outside they have a little soccer place, Beachvolleyball and few meters outside of the Jugendherberge area there is a beach where you can enter the "Wannsee". Also some boardgames in the lobby. Service and employee was very friendly and kind. Absolutely a place to be and a recommendation when YOU looking for a special Jugendherberge experience.

It was a nice place to stay here for one week. It is outside the Berlin center and in the direction to Potsdam. I must appreciate their mess menu. Moreover, the place is quite peaceful and very close to beach. I hope you would also have good experience.

I went with a large group (~150 people) that booked most rooms and conference rooms. The bedrooms (two bunkbeds each) were in very good condition - clean, solidly built, good personal lockers and adequate ventilation. Only the shower drains were clogged with hair (in several of our groups' rooms), though this was easily fixed by hand. The food in the cafeteria was fine. Nothing special, but perfectly edible, healthy, with enough variation for 4 days' stay, and they were willing to provide vegan options for our group. The cafeteria itself was rather noisy, though, and conversations quickly became hard to follow. Someone from our group mentioned this shouldn't be too hard to fix with some basic sound-absorbant tiles, but I'm not an expert. The halls and conference rooms were again in good condition: clean, well-furnished, with projectors and other conveniences available. The acoustics were again a bit subpar, but not terrible. The location near the Wannsee and forest is great for walks or a swim. Unfortunately the garden behind the hostel is fully enclosed by fences with the waterline fully taken up by boats and jetties, but a short walk along a gravel path (make sure to bring footwear!) takes you to a large, clean sand beach.

Rooms are very questionable. But no matter, they are only for overnight stays. In return, the breakfast is really phenomenal. Full buffet and still small things, pancakes, cappuccino and co. Great! If you like jogging, I can also recommend Schlachtensee

Hey! We were with a sports club about 120 people from March 22nd. - 03/24/24 in the house. A great, rich breakfast, and the roast dinner was also very tasty. The children also liked it in the house. Many opportunities for leisure. We would like to send a thank you to the bus driver! Good luck to you and stay healthy.

As the organizer of an event with almost 70 people, I can only report positive things. We were supported very patiently and competently during the planning and preparation stages. We always had someone at our side with advice and support throughout every step of the almost 7-day event. We felt very comfortable, were looked after attentively, had a great breakfast, ate a variety of foods and slept peacefully. Admittedly, the house wasn't built yesterday, but everything is well maintained, clean and originally decorated. And on top of all that, it's just fantastic. The Felt Encounter 2024 organized by the Filz Network e.V. was a complete success, not least thanks to the youth hostel. Thank you! We will be back.

Very good choice for groups. Apartments with kitchens are available for 6-8 people for a very reasonable price.

For a "Jugendherberge" the room qualities are acceptable and the price was quite ok. The atmosphere is really fantastic, outside it's so relaxing and one cannot imagen that it's actually Berlin - full of nature, a little landing stage and a little forest path. Just great. πŸ‘

This place was disgusting when we got in are room there was bugs everywhere. The food wasn’t eatable and it was a guy that slammed on the door and said that we couldn’t lock the door.

The location by the lake, surrounded by forest, is a dream. For a youth hostel, the cleanliness and size of the rooms are completely fine. We had no bedbugs or stained bedding in the rooms. The staff at the reception were always friendly and very helpful, but the kitchen could use some improvement in this regard. We really enjoyed the breakfast. Dinner was also okay in terms of taste, but unfortunately there was no choice and often a bit too little. Here you should change the portion size or cook enough so that you can have a second helping if necessary. It would also be good if you could choose between meat and vegan after looking at the menu and not have to decide weeks in advance and then no longer have a choice on site. More attention must be paid to registered special requests due to intolerances!!!

Good hostel. GOOD POINTS : Clean rooms, nice staff. Food - tasty and fresh. Good transport (Nicolassee s-bahn directly to the centre of Berlin, close to Potsdam). Free parking lot. BAD POINTS: First we had a 4-bed room with a bathroom shared with another room (3rd floor). I wish we were nofified about that fact at the start... The second room was ok: 4 beds, clean bathroom not shared this time, with a beautiful view overlooking the lake....Wi-fi - weak signal and paid service.

Quite old place with a renovated bathroom. The lack of kiosk or shopping options nearby was a drawback. The kitchen was fine

I've never had a great experience at djh. Yes! The location & ambiance is breathtaking; but the service and the hostel in general is not exactly worth of the price. There are a hundred other better/cheaper places out there.

The room is very tidy the staffs are very nice, and always wearing a smile. Breakfast is great. The environment is very quiet, and the hostel is not far from the S Bahn train station (~8mins by foot)

Youth prison looks better. Where should I start: 1. So when we got here it took a while before we could get to our rooms 2. The days we were here there were lots of bedbugs in our room every day 3. We don't need to talk about the mattresses, it gives me sports mat vibes 4. I can't say much about breakfast - I only ever ate the shrink-wrapped items I had stomach problems every evening at dinner. 6. So the location it takes at least 40 minutes to get to Berlin - the train is always crowded. 7. Likewise, the water is yellow when you eat.

We held the German Chess Youth retreat at Wannsee. The youth hostel is very charming and in a beautiful location! The rooms are winding, have their own charm and there are many areas/game corners to linger and get together. The rooms and the food are tidy and totally appropriate for a DJH. The service was very good. The employees are very courteous and helpful. We are completely satisfied and would love to come back!

I was in this β€œold school” JH with a certain charm over Easter 2024 and was pleasantly surprised! My single room had a shower and toilet, was very clean and was cleaned daily. My meals as part of the half board booked (breakfast and dinner) were rich and very tasty! A special thanks to the kitchen crew! I also have very fond memories of the service in the other areas (reception, bar)! I felt very comfortable with you...thank you very much for that :-)

There are bugs in the rooms and dining room. The Wi-Fi is advertised quite actively, but it only works directly in front of the reception and only to a limited extent. The few employees I encountered were quite friendly. The food tastes like average to good cafeteria food, unfortunately I couldn't enjoy much of it as I lost my appetite after seeing the trails of ants on the tables. We share the shower with our next room, which definitely creates embarrassing moments. Unfortunately, each room was also advertised as having its own toilet and shower. In terms of location, it is acceptable; the S-Bahn can be reached in about 20 minutes on foot. All in all, definitely not a recommendation.

All very sweet. The lobby and generally the whole building is very cozy, with plenty of space/bean bags and a pleasant atmosphere. The leisure activities are accessible free of charge (with a deposit). In addition, the view of Lake Wannsee and the outdoor area in general is very beautiful. The food was delicious and the staff was always very helpful. About 5 minutes from S Nikolassee.

The condition of the room is bad, bare concrete, splintered wood and worn out furniture. The shower is shared between two rooms and you need to lock your door to the shower in order to prevent people from going into your room. My bedsheets were dirty and when I went to replace them they gave me dirty sheets again. They promise high speed WiFi but it's barely enough to send a text message

The youth hostel is beautifully located by the lake. My room had a lake view. The hostel offers many games and sports activities outside and inside. Billiards, table tennis, volleyball, table football, badminton etc. The lounge area in the entrance is comfortably designed. There are drinks and coffee machines, a bar and a piano. The staff is open-minded and friendly. The hostel is a bit old on the outside and partly on the inside.

Super nice team, good breakfast with a lot of choice, everything was absolutely clean. Rooms actually felt relatively large for a youth hostel and, in my opinion, the beds and especially pillows were more comfortable than in some much more expensive hotels (but of course still narrow and not brand new).

It was good but there wasn't a toilet in the bedroom.. ohh that was too stressful. Ohhh, and there wasn't also the lift. Our room was on the 4th floor...😐
