The room was only set for two people in a 4 person space. We were there from Friday-Sunday and housekeeping did not clean our room. We only had towels for 2 people. The extra sheets and blanket for the pull out bed were not in the room. The AC did not work very well at all, one small trash can in the room, broken elevator, etc. We were charged for a 5 star hotel under 2 star conditions. We expect a lot more from Marriott, but this particular hotel needs much improvement.

As a platinum member of BonVoy this is by far the worst stay at a Marriott ever. Does not deserve to carry the Marriott brand. This could of been a one off but there were people screaming and running in the halls consistently. At one point it sounded like someone was being assaulted. Called downstairs and reported it and they said we can hear it too and did nothing. It is 11:30 at night and I’m leaving with my family to continue driving instead of resting and driving in morning. The AC didn’t work. Room smelled musty. Bed was hardest thing I have ever laid on. My wife felt as something was biting her feet when she got under covers. Truly felt like a super 8 and not a Marriott. Extremely disappointed.

Alert, Alert Alert. This hotel is under major reconstruction. The hotel looks like a it was hit by one of the Hurricanes. There are tarps on the roof and the entrance has been redirected to the East side for entry. The grounds all have dead flowers. Do not listen to the 5-star ratings others have given. Please do yourself and favor and book somewhere else because this information is not posted on their website. We immediately cancelled once I got back to the car and stayed across the street at Marriott Fairfield Inn which was decent. I have followed up with Marriott Bonvoy to inquire about this information and was told they too are not informed when a property is in this status which is a problematic for its members. I will dispute the charge for late cancellations and have opened a case with Bonvoy. I really hope this helps someone. I would never try and discourage for a stay but when travelling with elderly parents and have to redirect can be stressful

The room was a simple room. It was fine checking in, but returning to the room at night we were horrified to find our luggage and bed crawling with roaches. Unfortunately there was nothing they could do as the hotel was sold out, so we ended up leaving in the middle of the night to find a new place to stay. It was a terrible experience. Would never stay here again. Attached are pics of some of the roaches 🪳. Ones squished bc i killed it as it ran from under my suitcase 🤢 and the other was one of many smaller ones crawling around the desk area and bed.

Staff was great, we really liked them and they tried their best to accommodate us. Unfortunately the same cannot be said is the rooms. Avoid this hotel! We booked it, because we needed to be near the Moffitt hospital. We stayed in two rooms and both were filthy. They smelled heavily of mold and other bad smells. There was dirt/dust/cobwebs everywhere and we even had someone come knock on our door an hour after we’d used the shower and say water was dripping in to the kitchen. We didn’t have water on the bathroom floor so I’m not sure if it was coming from the toilet or what… but I’d avoid the food here if they have toilet/shower water dripping with in their kitchen. But overall don’t stay here it’s filthy and you will feel sick the next morning.

We stayed here for a soccer tournament. The location was selected for us - I would have chosen somewhere else if given the chance. The room smelled for the first 2 days we were there. We asked if any other rooms were available but were told there were no other rooms. When checking in someone at the front desk handed my daughter the bedding for the pull out couch - which we never even used. Why was he handing her bedding as we checked in - I don't know...so she had to balance all of that while carrying her backpack and rolling her suitcase. Strange. The worst part was that part of our team had their flight cancelled so they asked me to let the front desk know they would be late. I went down there and told them and they laughed it off and said they would pass that along to the nigh clerk. I didn't think much of it - we were all booked through a reservation service so they had all of our names. Come to find out the next morning that the hotel gave away many of the rooms! So not only did half the team spend all day getting to Florida - they were greeted by a hotel that gave away their rooms...even though they were told ahead of time that they would be coming! Overall - stay some place else. There is no breakfast included, the pool is ok but not great, the gym is small and the common area is also small and gets very loud with a crowd. And this hotel is not very close to anything other than Wendy's and Dunkin Donuts.

Very easy check-in and check-out process, very spacious rooms and free HBO movies included. Pool deck is very private, and front desk staff was very friendly, and very accommodating and patient when I lost my key card to my room! Close proximity to highway exit is great for convenience and traveling around Tampa. Definitely would stay again.

The location , for us, was perfect as we had to be at a location close by early the next morning. The staff was polite, and check-in was easy. The room was clean but required a bit of maintenance. The lamp shade on the desk fell off the lamp when it was touched, and when looking at it, the shade did not fir the lamp. The shower was clean and certainly HCA except there was no shower chair and the towel rack next to the sink fell off when we grab a hand towel, the bar was cut just a bit too short. But all in all, when we have to return to the area for the same reason, we will return to Courtyard, it still a clean and safe hotel 🏨 👌.

I am writing this review at 4:30 am. While in the room. The (filth has given me such anxiety that I can’t sleep.) worst Marriot I have ever stayed in. Upon arrival, late afternoon. We checked in and the desk clerk was friendly and helpful. The first room we were given was so damp and musty. It smelled like it was wet inside and the room was very damp feeling. We went back to the desk and politely asked if we could get a different room. The desk clerk was accommodating but not quite as friendly. We went up to our other room and it to smelled damp and musty but not as bad. Upon entering the room it looked clean, after being in it and unpacking, I noticed that it was not clean. The floor were dirty in the bathroom and main room. All surfaces were left sticky and streaked. Hair was stuck to the surface of the phone along with other debris. I wanted to leave but the husband convinced me to stay. I got out my sanitizing wipes and wiped down all the surfaces. I was inform upon check in that house keeping was every other day. So figuring they wood clean the next day I let it slide. Next day we got a couple of towels, they did t take the old ones and nothing else was touch. I could go on forever. This place is filthy and I do not recommend. It’s gross.

An update to this experience. A bright spot was speaking with on duty manager Keeli who listened, apologized and quickly assisted with the refund requested. I’m sure she could have objected to providing for one reason or another but was gracious enough not to be confrontational and took care of our account right away. This is the customer service experience that helps guests take a second chance on your brand when having a less than expected experience. Thank you Keeli for Helping provide a quick and satisfactory resolution!

The hotel has been completely renovated. That's a positive, but the structure and design is still very much antiquated. The rooms were clean but was difficult to sleep due to how loud the air conditioning unit was. The layout was a bit odd. Overall a reasonably priced place to stay for 1 night if it's convenient.

the absolute worst. The rooms are so outdated its depressing and the beds and pillows have that disgusting feeling where they feel damp even when supposedly "cleaned" . The "restaurant" should not be labeled as such its a chilled display and a panini press. The internet and television cut out every morning at 3 am on the dot and do not work again for hours. The window in my room is filthy... like they have never cleaned the outside of the window. The hallways are like a sauna they must have the house AC turned off for the upper floors to save money or something but it's awful getting to your room. Housekeeping left an empty roll of toilet paper on the holder and there was no safe in my room, felt like Russian roulette every time i left for work. Staff was friendly though

Place is run down. Wallpaper peeling, stains on walls. The shower curtain rod was falling off. I wouldn't dare sit on the nasty sofa. At least the rest of room was clean. The pool was closed. Which may not have been a bad thing. Bistro is closed on weekends due of course to Covid! (I guess the virus is more transmissible on weekends). Won't return unless the hotel is refurbished. First time I have been really disappointed in a Marriott hotel.

I only stayed for one night, and the place did what I needed it to do. It gave me a clean place in a good location with pleasant service. I needed somewhere to spend the night before hitting the road the next morning. They're right next to the expressway, so as soon as I checked out, I was back on the road quickly.

11/11/23 @5:37PM I would like to provide an update to my original review below. Post my review, I spoke with customer service and they opened up a customer complaint case. They shared my concern with the general manager, who then comped my one night stay which was a very kind and appreciated gesture. The general manager also followed up with me and needed clarification around my statements regarding the apathetic staff member and management not following up. I explained the following: "My comments regarding the gentleman on duty being apathetic was based on his response to my concern. He did not offer me another room, he did not apologize for the cockroach being in the room., nor did he state that he would follow-up with management regarding the matter. In my professional experience, when staff respond without a plan of action it gives the impression that they are unhappy in the workplace, are not well compensated, and do not have faith in their supervisors that patrons concerns will be adequately addressed. Which led me to believe that the supervisor would most likely not address this matter." Nevertheless, after speaking with the general manager, he explained that pest control will be making a visit to the grounds to ensure the cleanliness and safety for all patrons and staff. I want to say kudos to the general manager for going above and beyond to address this matter and acting so swiftly. With that said, I rescind my comments about management not addressing this matter. It is comforting to know that my voice did not go unheard. Therefore, I have changed my star rating as excellent customer service can go a long way. Sincerely, I wanted to give more stars, but given I had to kill a cockroach and the gentleman on duty was quite apathetic about the possible infestation, let's me know several things: 1. He knows cockroaches are a problem. 2. The staff is not well compensated. 3. Upper management does not plan on doing one thing to address this concern. I will say that the renovations that have been done at this establishment is nice; however, they failed to address their noisy AC/Heat units which made getting a good night's sleep impossible, along with knowing that creepy crawlers are running around; so unfortunate.

The service here is impeccable! The kind and caring staff is amazing! I ordered a late dinner and the young gentleman named Jr. is a TRUE professional!! He made me a delicious meal and brought it up to my room. I had been at the VA hospital with a sick father for 3 days and needed some rest. Jr. demonstrated exceptional people skills and customer service!!! GOD BLESS YOU! The nice young lady who ran the front desk was also amazing!!! Beautiful people here!!! when I find out her name, I will post again. She deserves to be recognized by name!!

Entire staff was phenomenal. Tyrill, nyeema, Betty, Keeli, Shea, Maddy, Galyna, Bam, Karolina. Stayed here for a couple of days, the experience, the hospitality, and all aspects which you would expect from a Ritz Carlton was genuine and mind blowing; Many times I was oblivious I was in a Courtyard by Marriott. Kudos to the General Manager Rick Dorman for having and maintaining a prestigious staff. I hope to stay again whenever I'm around the area.

Thank you junior From nick and julie

Everyone from the front desk to housekeeping was extremely nice and helpful. Miss Betty is a doll and made sure my room was acceptable for my wheelchair. We travel often to the casino and this hotel will be our go to place to stay. Our only concern was the sliding glass doors to the patio on the first floor did not seem securely locked (just a bar across the one door) and there is no fencing around the property to keep out non guests. It is a nice area so we weren't too worried but there should be locks on the doors to the outside especially on the first floor. Other than that we were very happy with our stay. Ps there's a Wendy's and a Dunkin right next to the hotel!

Was a little pricey for a simple room but i enjoyed the one night stay. The pool was a little dirty but i was glad it was open. The man who works at night was really helpful and kind.

Service was very good. 4 starts on location because it's hard to get in to, but it's close to the highway and to the office parks, and medical complexes. The bistro is a modified Starbucks. They did not have oatmeal, but we're friendly.

Great location in a semi-rural setting just East of the USF Campus and West of I-75. Rooms are always fantastic, the Staff friendly and accommodating, and the location is just a few miles from amazing food and shopping options. Will definitely stay here again when in the area.

Had a horrible stay with my father there due to uncleanliness of the toilet and shower. I took pictures of lots of black mold around the toilet to where we had to switch rooms. When we enter other room there was more black mold on the front of the toilets on the inside. That experience was enough to leave the hotel from night until early in morning due to the bathroom being safety hazard. I tried getting in contact with the hotel because I want a refund but they continue to say the manager isn’t there. The pictures I have of the hotel bathroom and toilet are enough to file a lawsuit because no one should have to stay somewhere in a unclean environment when I spent hard earned money to enjoy a day in town with my father

Great location, mostly terrible service. Depending on which shift you deal with, you will either have a great interaction or a one. This courtyard, like many others noticed no longer has ice machines on the first floor. I dealt with shift staff many times trying to get ice from the kitchen only to hear them complain and day I should go to the second floor to get my own ice. The room was good, and the pool was taken care of, but the staff here really got on my nerves. Also, my truck got ran into in the parking lot, and they have zero parking lot cameras. Not a knock against the hotel but good knowledge to know.

Friendly and helpful staff. Check in lady went out of her way to help us check in early so we could go to Taylor Swift concert. Teresa (check out) was extremely kind to my grandson and I. Both ladies have excellent customer service skills. The room was nice. Would definitely stay there again. Great staff, nice and clean hotel.

Great staff. Extra attentive to our needs. The rooms had all we needed for our weekend and an extra table which we especially were happy to use. Used the workout room (better than normal) and pool daily. Pool area needs some maintenance but it has potential to be a lot nicer. Like the lobby and gathering area alot for casual relaxing or watching games or eating. Rates were very competitive. Will be back.

I was not a guest here, but had to make a quick emergency stop for one of my 4 kids this morning. Front desk employee was rude and unaccommodating about our situation. She referred to them as "her" restrooms and she was more concerned about her power trip than being an understanding and hospitable human being. I will likely be traveling down here many times in the future since my elderly parents just moved to the area, but I certainly will not be staying at this Courtyard.

  • 1/5 A S. 1 year ago on Google
No complementary breakfast, you have to pay for breakfast! The cook doesn’t understand English so I watched her make an elderly man’s order completely wrong with fruit he probably can’t consume. When he told her his order was wrong she just keep repeating the words “yes” & “avocado toast” back to him. Never fixed the problem. No free laundry! For a hotel to be by Marriott this is absolutely ridiculous. This is NOWHERE you would want to have an extended stay. If you absolutely need somewhere to stay & have money to waste for poor service, this is for you!

Front Desk distracted and unwelcoming Rooms were outdated, tv didn’t work in my room or my associates rooms Breakfast unavailable for both days and no one stated this upon checking in Just lacking for 150$ plus a night. Only plus side was the housekeepers were very sweet and the head housekeeper Jamie went out her way to make sure we were comfortable.

3 stars and im being generous. Toilet ran all night. AC was bad at best. Room was smelly and humid. Odd room layout. Furniture starting to show signs on wear.

If I could give it 0 I would! The absolute worst I ever stayed in! First the pictures are deceiving so be aware! The place is just depressing, dirty and terrible customer service. We stayed here over 4 days for my sons soccer tournament along with other 30 families and honestly it couldn’t have been worst! The first day I saw two roaches and my room was super dirty and smelly! Not once did they come to clean the rooms and you have to beg to get clean towels which they don’t even smell clean! They fool you into thinking they have breakfast and it’s a lie. The breakfast they served was in a brown bag and it was the same thing for the first two days with a terrible sandwich and a muffin that was as hard as a rock! Don’t waste you money here! Overall dissatisfied and would not recommend at all!

  • 4/5 Douglas W. 2 years ago on Google
Everything was good except the front desk was unoccupied briefly when I got there for check-in. There's no dinner on the weekends, no buffet/included breakfast, ice machines were not working and so I had to go to the front desk after trying floor 1 (not working/NO sign saying so) and finally floor 2 had a sign this ice machine is not working, go to front desk for ice. The front desk staff talked to what looked like another employee without acknowledging me for a minute, no "Hi I'll be right with you" courtesy. They were friendly once they gave me their full attention. Maybe I'm just a northerner in the South expecting the world to revolve around me. This is the bad stuff, and I'm particular, but the rest was all good. It's pretty close to the airport and some major businesses. The room was very nice, just a few paint scrapes on the walls, the hallway smelled a bit stale but not the room.

Nasty, old, dirty. Our sink had toothpaste all over in it. There's one thingy about staying in an old hotel, but to have it dirty, sticky bathroom floor, stained chair, etc., etc.is deplorable especially for a Marriott Courtyard hotel. Marriott has gone downhill to say the least. I regret being a Bonvoy member. Marriott needs a complete overhaul starting with the top. This particular hotel needs to be shut down!.

First let me this, the whole staff was amazing!! A special shout out goes to Mrs. Betty that reminds me of that aunt/grandmother that always saying what are you doing now son? Very sweet and personable in every manner. She made sure me and my guest was well taken care of. The first night we checked in, we notice that was a whasp nest on our balcony seating area. Right away she rectified the situation. Great sitting area for me and the crew to watch the NBA game 7 series with an awesome kitchen/restaurant. With that been said, I WILL DEFINITELY RETURN AND STAY THERE!!!

  • 2/5 Ty S. 2 years ago on Google
I was not pleased with how rundown the place look! First off the website doesn't state that they don't offer late checkout or does it state that you have to pay for breakfast! Upon arrival I asked the very friendly attendant about checking out late and was told "due to short staffing, the latest I could check out was the regular time". Our room wasn't anywhere near as big as the pictures on the website and they don't even give you a microwave inside your room. I booked a room with a balcony but was told the balcony was closed off and alot of things haven't reopened fully because of what's going on!

  • 1/5 William K. 2 years ago on Google
First off I always use the app from Bonvoy so I can do check in and check out with it. Well that doesn't work here even though it says it does. Your are still required to check in at the counter, still required to present your ID and credit card even though you already have through the app. The room... sucked. We were tired so we just dealt with it and went to sleep. When we checked out I had to wait on someone to come up to the counter from taking in the back. They never asked how things where, it's like they know better. For your information we were in room 103 and had progeny with the following: Ac filthy/ noisy Cracks/stains on walls Stains on lamp shades? Outlet broken under the bedside lamp. Floor filthy(look under things) Holes in the closet walls Rusty bathroom hinges Toilet seat falling off Shower head broken No wash clothes Bathroom floor had water pooled on it when we came in last night. Oh and when I went to make coffee with the one cup I had left, there was no sugar or anything with it. I did message the hotel and their entire response was "Thank you and I will share with the team."
