I
stayed
in
this
hotel
during
the
last
days
of
my
Expat
stay
in
Belgium,
and
chose
Tervuren
because
it
offered
easy
public
transport
to
Brussels
(Tram
44),
and
was
close
to
my
former
residence.
This
is
the
only
hotel
in
town.
Tervuren
is
very
nice
and
features
the
Afrikamuseum
and
the
Park
Van
Tervuren,
but
is
mostly
a
location
for
day
trips,
not
for
overnighters.
I
guess
the
clientele
for
this
hotel
are
travelling
professionals,
bicyclists,
or
people
that
are
in
some
way
affiliated
with
the
local
British
School.
For
the
purpose
of
my
stay,
the
hotel
was
perfectly
fine.
It
is
in
walking
distance
to
the
town
centre
and
its
many
venues,
and
in
extended
walking
distance
to
the
Tram44
terminus
and
the
Afrikamuseum.
Bus
line
317
offers
a
good
connection
to
Leuven.
The
room
was
clean,
spacious,
and
equipped
with
a
fridge
and
a
small
electric
range.
Bathroom
was
also
good,
with
an
impressive
water
pressure.
My
room
was
located
in
the
back,
with
the
patio
door
opening
to
a
terrace
that
is
jointly
used
by
several
other
rooms.
Seating
was
provided
for
each
room
there.
The
parking
space
in
the
back
is
easily
accessible,
and
there
was
plenty.
Breakfast:
Was
adequate
for
a
hotel
like
this,
featuring
scrambled
egg,
bacon,
sausages
and
various
cold
cuts.
There
are
also
a
couple
of
negatives.
The
walls
and
the
furniture
show
their
age
and
would
need
an
overhaul.
There
is
no
air
conditioning
or
at
least
some
adjustable
ventilation.
My
room
was
therefore
extremely
hot
and
unpleasant.
They
did
provide
a
fan,
but
that
only
helped
when
the
patio
door
was
open.
Keeping
the
patio
door
open
during
the
night
is
not
a
good
option
because
of
the
common
terrace.
The
hotel
description
lists
as
one
amenity
a
minibar.
As
mentioned
above,
there
is
a
fridge
(which
proved
great
in
the
summer),
but
it
is
not
a
mini
bar
in
the
classic
sense.
They
also
advertise
a
bar
in
the
lobby,
but
this
was
not
in
operation
(then
again,
there
are
plenty
of
nicer
bars
and
restaurants
in
walking
distance.
)
What
I
really
missed
was
a
safe
for
my
valuables,
which
is
almost
standard
nowadays.
Also,
they
really
should
provide
"Do
not
disturb"
signs
at
the
doors
so
that
housekeeping
is
aware.
Plenty
of
reviews
have
mentioned
the
unfriendliness
of
the
staff
(going
back
10
years
or
so).
I
can
see
were
this
is
coming
from
in
some
cases,
but
I
would
characterize
it
as
being
very
very
very
reserved,
as
it
is
not
unusual
in
Flanders.
