The parking lots and boardwalks get full early at most of these basins. We got to black sand at 7am on a Sunday and saw only 2 other cars during our visit. Cliff geyser was erupting as we walked up which was cool! There were a lot of fresh animal droppings right near the boardwalks but we didn't see anything. This is a nice stop if you have time and it's not crowded. It's an easy, short walk. I would recommend Biscuit basin and midway geyser over this one.

Located right by Old Faithful, this is a great stop to pair with it! Lots of bubbly geysers on an easy boardwalk. Handicapp accessible and stroller friendly. #crazykleinadventure

Geyser basin within walking distance from the old faithful inn. Worth the visit if time allows but like any sites in the area, better come very early (before 9am) to beat the crowd and the heat. It is also possible to do a short 15 minute hike to Kepler cascade from the site.

This was our first look at the thermal pools in Yellowstone and they were interesting. Their coloring wasn’t as pronounced as we’ve seen in pictures, but it was raining so we believe this had something to do with it. We watched the most active geyser go off there and it was neat to see, we actually got a better view of it when we walked away from it and up the boardwalk some.

Like all our Yellowstone stops this spot was amazing. The parking lot is small and fills quickly, I'd recommend early morning or after 3:00pm. The Sunset pool was one of my favorites lots of color variations reminded me of a small Grand Prismatic. Similar to the other geyser/pool features you walk on boardwalks throughout the area and there are pit toilets if you need them.

Interesting place with highly heated pools and also 'black sand'. Some pools are spewing water at a short height compared to the nearby old faithful. Nice to walk around and to take lots of photos and videos.

Came here Sunday before labor day, as it was pouring rain at Old Faithful and we decided to head North and see if the weather was a bit better. Luckily for us it was, and the cool weather and moisture led to the whole basin being covered in a beautiful mist. We loved it
