here
because
this
is
the
place
of
lord
Shiva

amalgamation
of
temple
and
namghar.
Idol
worshipping
as
well
as
non-idol
worshipping
place.
The
complex
consists
of
Ganesh,
Shiva,
Hanuman,
Vishwakarma
and
Shani
temple
and
a
big
namghar.
There's
a
big
pond
with
an
impressive
Shiva
statue
in
the
middle
of
the
pond,
accessable
via
a
small
bridge.
At
least
7
puja-samagri
stalls
inside
the
complex.
Prasad
distribution
after
12.30
everyday.
Good
place
to
worship
and
spend
time.
Haleshwar
temple
is
one
of
the
oldest
temples
of
tezpur
which
is
located
about
10kms
north
of
Tezpur.

temple
is
the
oldest
temple
built
by
the
king
who
established
the
capital
of
Kamrupa
at
Harupeswar.
This
temple
of
Haleswsar
is

Mythology,

'linga'
was
found
by
a
cultivator
while
he

ploughing
in
the
fields.
Cultivator
is
also
known
as
'Halowa'
vernacularly
so
the
term
Haleswar
is
derived
from
the
word
Halowa.

temple
was
constructed
initially
on
it
and
later
Ahom
king
Rudra
Singha
constructed
the
temple
in
1705
A.D.
The
speciality
of
this
temple
is
that
it
is
a
worship
place
for
both
Vaishavites
and
Shivaites.
