About 40 Kms.from Karanjia, near Booring village in Thakurmunda P.S. is the sacred pool BHIMKUND” in the river Vaitarani. The legend reveals that Bhima, the second Pandava used to take his bath in this pool when the Pandavas were passing their incognito life in Birat Nagar, said to be the present Kaptipada.During Makar Festival in the month of January thousands of people gather here to take their holy dip. The place can also be approached from Dhenkikote (20 Kms.) on S.H. No 11 connecting Keonjhar and Panikoili.

    1. Bhimakunda Waterfall has a stunning spectacular natural environment encircled with lush green forest. 2.The majestic Baitarani river provides two most beautiful and scary waterfalls called Sanakunda & Badakunda to the natural lovers. 3. The waterfall has a terrific characteristic of imparting awesome experience to the visitors due to large vertical shaped gorge & speeding current and makes the environment smokey. Further huge roaring sound of waterfall makes the place most interesting among tourists. 4. This waterfalls is considered as a most sacred place in religious point of view. 5.Local people gather here during annual celebration of Makar Sankranti in large numbers. 6. Mythology is that Pandavas were staying some time here during their religious expedition 7. There are some rain shed, temple and a big statue of Bhim

One of the places to visit in keonjhar. It is located at a distance of 26km from Keonjhar town. Getting to the place is a bit tricky as it roads are not that good. Google map shows 3 routes but only one is fit for car. Once you get to the place you could enjoy a wonderful sunset.Built on the tributary of Brahmani river, this is a major irrigation project. 3.5 kms off the main road will lead you to this dam, An adjoining park serves as a great picnic spot. The views from the dam is great and there are not much restrictions (like tourists face in other dams in India) A must visit if in Keonjhar

Great place to visit and observe the natures beauty. River flows down through stones and turns. Well maintained by forest rangers. A big statue of Bhima is available. There are water and spot for picnic. Many dust beans are available to use. Few villagers have their shops if one need drinks or snacks but it costs bit more as its in remote area. But the place is really awesome for spending time for 1 hour. One can take bath on summer or winter as water is very clean but not in rainy season

Hello Friends, review on Bhima kunda.... There are couple of mythology stories belongs to this place. One of them is about the name of this place. This place is named after Bhima (bother of the Pandavas'). Due to the impact of his Gada this place had formed the name kept after that. Really an inspiring story of this place. This is an amazing place. A beautiful and gorgeous picnic spot as well. Everywhere you will find the greenery effect. There is a clock tower/ watch tower present. And from there the view is breath taking. There are two ways you can visit this place. One from Kendujhar side and other one from Mayurbhanja side. The road is really good. Only issue i find with the cleanliness. I don't find dustbin around the place. So little issue for cleanliness. But still this place is really good. So Friends please do visit the place and comment me below if this review helpful.
