Hotel Alakamanda Anuradhapura We as a family stayed this place last night. Worst disgusting experience we had in a hotel. Worst staff! unethical and most unprofessional hotel staff ever came across. No accountability on client’s safety. My vehicle was blocked by a tourist bus in the hotel’s car park. For more than half an hour I asked the security Officer, Front desk even the restaurant manager (who were the only person who was aware about his duties) to let us leave. Non of them were taking any action. The front desk person was showing his poor attitude by keep drinking his cup of tea instead of taking the needed action.( Evidence is there in CCTV footage). Finally we had to personally talked to the driver of the tourist bus and he verbally abused me and tried to physically abuse my husband. Not recommended to either foreigner or a local tourist. We had to book this place, because the Heritage Anuradhapura was fully booked on the dates we were able to come. Disgusting! This is to make you all aware about this hotel, if you are going to book a hotel Anuradhapura Though in the Google it says its 3 star, god knows how they have got it with clogged bathrooms, unkept pool and etc, etc.

I agreed what @Madushan senevirathne saying, very disappointing service, they don't have working POS machine, so asked us to go for ATM and bring cash until that they requested our ID's, Please make sure before serve that you don't have working POS machine and due to that reason u cannot accept cards.Dont Waste customers time...

One of the best stay in Sri Lanka. Nice and clean room. Swimming pool. Staffs are nice and friendly. Manager of the restaurant is kind and observant. (Thank you for nice chat! )Food is simply delicious!

We've booked two double bedrooms with 2 families. The food was delicious, rooms are clean and given very good service. We've given a safe place to night parking with security. Good area for children playing. They have masterpiece of architect design to keep natural cooling environment to as the city is famous for high temperature. Can recommend for your stay.

One of the best hotels in Anuradhapura to stay. Location is bit far from the sacred sites but If u r going on a vehicle it is highly recommended to stay in this hotel. Staff is excellent and very friendly. Rooms are really comfortable, very clean and lot of spacious for u to relax. If u want u can order ur meals from their menu. I personally recommend bed and breakfast is the ideal option for this hotel. They have a buffet breakfast which is having good variety of food mixing Sri lankan and English breakfast together. Swimming pool is also there for you relax. Price is also same or close to the other 3 to 4 star hotels in the area.

Even though there are some minor issues/concerns in the rooms ( some which were rectified within minutes and some were third party issues which could have resolved by putting enough pressure on third parties ), they were not able to tarnish the positive feeling we had about the hotel (have reserved two double rooms on F/B basis). Great place with cool environment. Went there with mixed feelings after checking the google reviews, but left the hotel with great satisfaction. Would recommend the place !!! :)

Nice hotel to stay. Peace and calm environment brings more joy to the stay. Pool was quite small but does the job. Staff was friendly and customer service is also good. Rooms are okay and it has space and most of the amenities are available in the room. For the corner room the wifi singles are very weak. Rest are fine. Buffet was good and can add more variations. But its worth for money.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It has a lovely garden with a nice pool. The rooms are big and very clean. The food was delicious and the live music during dinner was lovely. The staff is very friendly. We found our cocktail a bit to strong so they gave us a new one instantly, great service! I recommend booking your stay at this lovely hotel.

Very pleasant place to accommodate while you are in Anuradhapura. Pool is a little bit smaller but very clean and calming. Food is okay but didn’t have much varieties. Rooms are good. The staff is good but need more training

A good welcome was a good start for a happy and pleasant stay in the hotel. The hospitality of the entire staff was beyond excellent and they took personal care of all our needs and requirements and even kept a follow up for our requirements. The food tasted delicious and we had vegetarian options apart from non vegetarian options as well. The live music with dinner was an additional benefit to enhance our experience. The room was spacious and full of amenities. The pools, the swing, the location, the ambiance overall it was an amazing experience staying at the hotel and I would recommend you to visit this hotel again and again for their entire package of hospitality, services, food, room and ambience

Really good place to wind down. We were there for a few days and the stay was really peaceful. Also the staff is really friendly, more than being hospitality professionals, they welcome you to be a part of their family, and treat you like that and they take care of you....... Great stay, will surely visit again...

Overall, the hotel was average. The family room was spacious and clean, with plenty of beds and amenities for our family of four.We had to wait a long time for our lunch, and the service was not very attentive. This was likely due to the fact that there was a large wedding taking place at the hotel.The buffet breakfast was decent, but the food at dinner was not as good. Despite the average experience, we would recommend the hotel to other families looking for a budget-friendly option with a spacious family room

This is a must read review. We happened to visit on the family vacation. Though the hotel looked good. This hotel is a hotel is of scammers. The hotel tried to scam us 5000 rupees from room pantry even though we didnt touch anything at the time of checkout. They showed us the list of used items. I asked them to showed the trash or showed the used item in the luggage and they couldn’t show it. They later did not even speak of it. Do not choose this place ever again. They will scam you!!

Visited this place to participate for a wedding. Supportive staff were there. Food was tasty. Only issue was the lack of parking facilities and there wasn’t any one to handle the parking slots

Very good rooms and very good service, well maintained and clean rooms / bathrooms. The ambience was cool and the staff was very supportive. The dining room was good with a number of items for the breakfast, especially for vegetarians who dont eat eggs as well.

We had two days stay at the hotel . Food was delicious and had a good variety. Rooms were spacious and fairly clean. Hotel was beautiful and close to all the places of interest. Staff was friendly. Pool was small and clean, good enough for the purpose . Overall a good place to stay and enjoy with family.

This place is really worth the price. Food is awesome and the dining area is also nice. Rooms have A/C and hot water. Rooms are well cleaned and maintained. The staff is friendly and supportive. But the pool area is a bit small..

Customer service is better. Room condition is good other than some wash rooms. Because some taps are not working properly..

Very bad experience from the start to end of our stay. Room is not clean (We found human hair on our bed which seems like they haven't cleaned them properly or rented for short term before we arrive) Bathroom Locks are not working so we had to sing while inside the bathroom by preventing others come accidently. (We have booked 3 rooms) Only 500 ml drinking water bottle supplied per person per day (no extra provided even after requesting). If you really wanted to stay there please bring your own water bottles. Food served as buffet for dinner and breakfast. very low varieties of choices and they don't refill what ever finished. Found human hair in my plate while eating the foods which seems like they don't care about the cleanliness. We booked for Fullboard and At the end we were only guests there for lunch and they don't even have food menu to select (A la carte menu). The only option they given us was if you want rice and curry we can prepare or can make Fried Rice. We have asked if we can downgrade for Halfboard (As we consumed only dinner and breakfast and there is no any other guests available for lunch they don't have prepared anything) that will help. But they forced us we can't do that and forced us to eat that unhealthy foods. Also in the bathroom hand shower is also not working in one room, and in the other room when hand shower is on there is another tap is working where all you get wet even you don't want. Phones in the room is also not working. We need to call from our mobile to reach the front desk. Wifi signals not available in the rooms, Even if barely found few signals it will disconnect often.

very disappointed to say,they wasted our time while we pay from cards,no reception to the card payment, we went to atm machine to take cash, very frustrating service and even foods not taste dont come without cash lol 😂

There was a very beautiful wedding hall. But AC cool is low. It is may be due to the power cut problems.

Foods are tasty Good for the prices but mostly they are not caring local guests as foreign people... That's very bad.. So every one please consider before going there..

Food is good. Be careful when ordering two portions. Only one portion comes in a bigger dish. 😉

Had such a horrible experience. There was no water when we came to the hotel and it took them nearly 2hrs to fix it. Imagine having no water after a 4hrs long road trip. My brother lost a very expensive watch which was on the room table. Be careful of your stuff if you visit there. Not recommended.
