Definitely worth a visit in its own right or if on the way to Broadstairs or Ramsgate. This small museum has some unique exhibits. The Spitfire and Hurricane head the bill but I thought the smaller show case exhibits were fascinating. It was particularly poignant to read some of the real, human stories associated with some of the exhibits, about actual combatants. Some tragic, some heroic, all touching. The cafe is also decent, with good options for lunch.

Fantastic, lovely little museum full of fascinating and wonderful artifacts from our recent past. My son loved the exhibition and especially the spitfire Simulator.

Definitely a worthwhile experience with some of the most iconic British legendary war planes! We were met and greeted by extraordinarily friendly staff members, one of which is a local veteran, who actually flew one of those planes... Great spot with two must go museums a couple of steps across each other.

A great little musuem based at an old RAF base used during WW2. Admission is free and the cafe serves good basic cafe food, with inside and outside seating. They have a Spitfire flight simulator which looked really good, but I didn't get a chance to try. Well worth a visit.

A fascinating and deeply moving museum for all ages. Sited on part of the old WWII RAF Manston airfield which was at the forefront of Britains aerial fight against Germany. There are many extremely interesting artefacts to see but the museum is dominated by both a Spitfire and a Hurricane. Beautiful aircraft. There's also a good souvenir shop and cafe. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. Outside is a poignant memorial garden dedicated to allied air crew. Although free to enter it would be unfair not to make a generous donation to help with the continuation of this museum.

Great place to visit if ww2 aircraft is your thing. Both a Spitfire and Hurricane are on display. Lots of information about the battle of Britain. Free entry, but a donation is suggested. Good gift shop. Wheelchair accessible. Right next door is RAF Manston museum

Free museum funded entirely by donations, so please give freely. Really interesting displays on the two aircraft and very well laid out and informative. Good interesting exhibits. Attached is a nice cafe.

What a wonderful place to spend the afternoon. Staffed by a friendly and informative crew of volunteers, this lovely museum is a treasure trove of history. I highly recommend paying for the opportunity to try out the spitfire flight simulator. It was tremendous fun. Free entry to the museum but please be sure to leave a donation to support this great place.

I've lived in Deal for some years but never visited this attraction. It is very well presented by English Heritage and full of history. Particularly attractive to or those historians specialising in the Roman era in Britain. Richborough was originally by the sea, as becomes obvious from the top of the wooden structure. A must visit for visitors to the area.

Great to see two wonderfully restored examples of a Spitfire and Hurricane. Full credit to Medway Aircraft Preservation Society. It's a fairly small museum but that does mean you can get up close to the aircraft. If you want to know what it was like to fly a Spitfire, then you can always jump in the flight simulator. There's even a miniature cockpit for the kids. Well worth a visit and entrance is free. They'll appreciate a donation though.

Excellent free museum with small exhibition. There is a pay to enter hanger here also that costs £5 when I went which has more planes amd a small well stocked model and souvenir shop. Cafe serves good hot food also.

What a lovely little FREE museum. Lots of personal details about the war. Enough to keep youngster's occupied without getting bored, but lots for adults to read about. Really good cafe behind it with good coffee& excellent cakes, don't miss that! It has free onsite parking. It's closed on Mondays. You can also book a flight experience in a spitfire which looked fun & I thought very reasonable price!

Welcoming, informative and a great experience for all ages (our family group ranged from age 8 to 70s). My husband tried the spitfire simulator and really enjoyed the experience and welcomed the assistance of the instructor sat beside him. Great value and well worth a visit

Two amazing planes... great to see up close along with the historical exhibits. Plus a Lancaster cockpit, and 'bouncing bomb' prototype. Surprised by the number of weapons... even captured from the enemy. Free admission... donations welcomed.

Very well presented information and historical facts. Entrance is by donation, and the two main aircraft are very well presented , the other exhibits show the dedication to which the museum volunteers go to in researching their history. The Spitfire cafe , attached to the museum, was also very well presented and a great place to get a bite and a drink without breaking the bank.

I work in the shop regularly as a volunteer and thus museum is simply amazing and FREE! It has a fabulous and very realistic Spitfire simulator and more recently the cockpit section of a Lancaster bomber which is also being equipped as a flight simulator. It's an incredible and historic asset to Thanet and a must-visit!

Love the history of the items and planes inside. It’s small but can easily spend an hour or two inside, bonus that it’s free entry.

Great museum in 2 small but spacious halls containing a Spitfire and a Hurricane. Well laid out and run by friendly & knowledgeable volunteers. Free parking. There is a Spitfire Simulator that you can book online or turn up & hope for a 10 or 30 minute slot - well worth the £10 or £30 cost to be instructed & guided by a real pilot. A wide variety of food is available in the Merlin Cafeteria, a pleasant & spacious conservatory type place with outdoor seating too, overlooking the main runway. Behind the Museum is the Remembrance Garden, well worth a stroll through. There is no entrance fee, its run by donations in a really professional manner delivering a great experience for families and aviation enthusiasts alike.

Great place for Spitfire and Hurricane enthusiasts and for anyone interested in air battles of WWII. The full size Spitfire and Hurricane alone are worth the visit but there's lots more to see. It's worth spending time looking at the details on display. The staff are cheerful, friendly and helpful.

For those interested in such an important era in our history, this place is a "must visit". Though small, this museum has excellent exhibits. The Spitfire simulator is terrific, with knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff and instructors giving excellent background and 'hands on' help. Loved it!!

We had a lovely half day at the musem where the children explored the aeroplanes and the tanks on display. If you're passionate about history and aeroplanes, this place is great. The staff are very nice and entrance at a reasonable price.

    - [x] It’s always humbling to visit the Spitfire museum, so close to home. This museum relies solely on donations yet offers such a heartfelt and full experience of the Battle of Britain. I would say it is a fulfilling and enriching experience for adults and children alike. There are so many fascinating artefacts and articles that have been donated to the museum exhibition over the years from both home and abroad. I would highly recommend this important experience.
