Been here many times since I was a child. Very interesting and a huge collection of artefacts and stuffed animals from all over Africa. I feel like they have made the museum smaller? I like the interactive stuff toward the back that you can physically touch and feel. Vegans and animal lovers may not appreciate all the stuffed animals but for better or worse they’re there and can be used and viewed for educational purposes. It’s history.

It's taxidermy on steroids, not too busy and has amazing gardens and estate home tours. If you aren't big on animal hunters, I don't recommend gallery's 1 to 3, but the gallery's of the Powell daughters anthropological finds are amazing shows of the cultures seen

Excellent history of travel and animals from Africa. Very well presented. Can't fault the exhibition for the price. Would have paid three times admission price for what you got. Well worth a visit.

Very impressive museum with a lot of African animals. The rooms with the animals were impressive. We also really liked the beautiful gardens. They old house was nice to see and the staff was very friendly and explained a lot of things about the family and the house.

Went to the Country show which is a wonderful weekend for dog owners. If you go in the museum be prepared there are lots of stuffed animals The restaurant is fantastic and there are lots of other things for children to do, mini golf, maize maze at the right time of the year. Dome lovely products to buy in the restaurant shop.

Fantastic museum! Visited for the first time and was blown away! Plenty to see and the staff were fantastic. Particularly impressed with the aids available for those on the spectrum. The rucksacks etc at each location meant our son got to really enjoy the experience. Thank you ❤️

Manor house - closed. Museum - closed. Gardens accessed though museum - closed. Archery and axe throwing - needed to book in advance, no-one told us this. Signposts - too few, too vague, no idea where l was half the time. Prices of cakes in shop - ridiculously high. Crazy golf - brilliant, great fun.

What a fantastic museum for younger children! They provide backpacks for little ones with binoculars and themed learning aids and a whole room of hands-on exhibits. We were there on a bank holiday with traditional Japanese music in one of the rooms. The cafe opposite is super friendly and excellent value but I recommend popping in to book for lunch or tea when you first arrive as it gets very busy.

Really nice museum with well displayed exhibits, we had a great highlights tour by Alison and all the staff there were really lovely. The gardens are also well worth a wander round. Lovely day out to spend with a friend or on your own.

Really enjoyed a family trip to the museum. A very very impressive taxidermy collection of very large animals...a bit sad but the specimens were collected many moons ago during the age of exploration. Lovely activities for children within the museum with a good handling collection. Children get some accessories to dress up with on arrival should they wish, which was a nice touch. We had a picnic in the formal gardens which were beautiful bin the late summer. We loved the walled garden especially. There was a nice woodland walk also and a nice café on site which we enjoyed a cream tea at in the afternoon. Very tasty. Recommend!

The gardens are my favourite place to visit, and it is good to see that restoration projects are underway to restore various features. The house and museum are full of beautiful objects and much of educational value, and I enjoyed the recent Japanese exhibition.

Brilliant place for a day out. Inexpensive entry fee and some fascinating exhibits. They have a handling room so the kids could touch things and feel them. They also tried the paper plane making with great success. The grounds are beautiful to explore or enjoy a picnic. Highly recommended !
