Tired old hotel. Intermittent hot water for the showers, only seemed available in the mornings. Extremely hard mattresses, pillows smelled bad, old towels. Laundry returned to me completely wet through-I was told they had no drier in the hotel and because there was no sunshine they couldn't dry the clothes. Reasonably clean rooms though. Staff quite pleasant. Decent food in restaurant. Overall would not go back.

Very elegant and comfortable hotel experience. The room was clean, well maintained, with comfortable bedding with a good view. The restaurant was very big and a variety of food was available to order. The food was tasty and good in quantity. The ambiance was really good to admire with in built fountain inside and outside of the restaurant. Their swimming pool design, the surround greenery, little fountain in the pool, and stool in the pool had given us a really amazing experience. It was a very photogenic property. Few of the rooms have other door opening towards pool to give luxury experience. Everyone in our group loved the stay. The Grand Anicut canal was just opposite the hotel front gate, one could take morning and evening walk there to admire the beauty.

Well preferred location. Rooms are good and spacious. The pool is surrounded by greenish lawn and enjoyable. Reception man and other Staff are very supportive and friendly. Extremely old furnishings with sunken bed which to be improved also bathroom wall and roof.

The rooms were amazing. Especially the rooms that have a back door connected to the swimming pool. Interior was artistically done. The food was just perfect so was the restaurant manager. Totally loved the place

This is a good family hotel located almost equal distance from Thanjavur railway station and bus stand. It is also close to the Thanjavur palace and big temple. All within 2 kms. Although an old property, the rooms are well maintained and clean. Towels provided were a bit worn down. The pillows were thin.a/c worked fine. The breakfast served was good. (Only south Indian vegetarian). The swimming pool seemed clean and good to use. There is also a bar and they provide service to your room as well although the price was quite high.

Old building and the service staffs wore very old dress( I mean the shirts were sold with ink, etc). The room was quiet old. The rooms in the second floor are work bathtubs and not friendly for elders. There management hyad to work on this if they want better rating from all. Good part was the breakfast was good and the person incharge was very friendly. Rooms are big but needs some refurbishment Need a good refurbishment of the rooms if you want a lot of clients coming in

All the rooms had pests. Cleanliness is not at all there. Stay at your own risk. The staff is good , i.e. they speak with booking agencies and allow guests to leave, If you don't like the room. Polite and supportive staff.

Rooms are clean. Staff is polite. Food is average. Restaurant's beers is drinkable. Unreliable wakeup call. Almost no hot water. In my room, we had a weird shower where the water came out of 2 slits out of the shower head. No room safe. Internet was horrible. Beds superhard but not too bad. In my room, even picking up airtel cell service for internet was so-so. Aircon was effective though.

This is a good hotel in Tanjavur. Rooms are neat and maintained well. They gave a good complementary breakfast. Location is very nice. During our stay bathroom drainage blocked and staffs are unable to rectify it. some how we managed and checked out.

It's okayish but for 3700β‚Ή per room i expect a complimentary breakfast with more varieties and options. And this place has one of the worst swimming pools I have ever swam in, The chlorine in the water is too much and it's too dirty that I can't even say what's infront of me with goggles and the worst part is the odour of the water. Please clean the pool i can't even see what's on the bottom

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the hotel. We were given a suite room, it was very big and had backdoor direct entry into the pool. The kitchen staff were very polite and helpful. We liked the dinner as well very much. The soup 'Coconut Chicken' was really awesome. I tried 'Chicken Sizzler' and it was way greater than what I used to get in finest hotels in Chennai. I didn't expect such quality in Thanjavur. I really wish we spent few more days in Thanjavur and enjoyed more!!

We had been there on 20.03.2023 for a days stay to attend our family temple festival. We usually stay at Hotel Gnanam but chose to stay at this hotel as this was wheel chair friendly. We had asked for interconnecting rooms with twin beds as my father is 86 years old and wheel chair bound and had an attender to take care of him. Unfortunately my father while resting overturned and fell from the bed and hit his nose on the dresser and started bleeding profusely all over. Our family attended to his bleeding immediately and after a while it stopped and then we left to the temple and while leaving requested at the reception to change his sheets. We returned from the temple at 12 am to find the manager Mr JAYABALAN waiting at the reception to see me immediately before I could go to the room. He was so discourteous and complained that the sheets and the quilt was completely soiled and that he won't be able to use them again and gave me a bill for Rs. 7800/- and asked me to settle it. My sister asked the manager on what basis he had arrived at the cost for which he had no explanation. I asked the manager what he would do if we refused to pay. He threatened us rudely saying he will refuse to let us leave the hotel. We then said we will discuss the matter the next day and retired for the night. Today morning while checking out the manager was waiting for us like a police man and while asking him for cost break up haggled with us for some compensation and we paid him 3200/-. But the behaviour of the manager was rude and discourteous and it is hard to believe that he's been running this hotel for so long. If the manager had shown some concern for my father's fall and then informed that we are supposed to compensate as per hotel policy we would have paid immediately. For a hotel manager to threaten two ladies at 12 am that he would not let us leave the hotel if we don't pay and that too with no logical or reasonable estimate of Rs.7800/- for a quilt and sheet which was already spotty and well used is not the way to run a business. Also the rates for the hotel is much more when we book directly than when you book online. We booked directly because we wanted to make sure we had certain comforts for my father. Am writing about this incident immediately just to caution about the service. As for restaurant the lunch was tolerable but breakfast was good. Hotel is in a good location and ambience is good. But the service and the manager was too bad.

The best stay at Tanjore. Most welcoming staffs. Best House keeping and room service. The staffs are so energetic and friendly nature. The front desk person is also too good. They will pick your call at night also. At last minute when I reach Tanjore I book room at 3:30am in that time also they pick my call and have polite reply for my call. Luckily I had a room on that day. Everything is so so good. I really really enjoyed the stay at here. Restaurant is also too good. They have complementary buffet breakfast at morning.

I have been staying at this property - once a year - for more than 10 years. Due to COVID, we haven’t travelled 2020-2022. I must say that the property appears very run down and neglected. The room was good. Bathrooms not great. Plumbing below par. The property is just about okay. What remains good is the courtesy and service of the staff. I am extremely pleased with that. I wish the owners would pay more attention to the upkeep and revive the hotel to its past glory.

Choice of food is very limited as only 4 or 5 rooms are occupied out of a total of 52 rooms. Hotel staff said there is a poor turnout of Indian and foreign tourists after covid outbreak. However our stay was peaceful.

A clean and neat place for stay, but the service especially at restaurant is very very poor. Firstly, no much varieties or options. Secondly even if we demand no chance of getting. Horrible.

Mohan is the perfect host, and the hotel is clearly the best, in terms of location, with all great landmarks just 10-15 minutes walk away Front desk staff are competent, cheerful and hospitable. The swimming pool is the perfect place to unwind after a tiring day

Best and reliable Hotel in Thanjavur. Accommodative Reception. Swimming pool is fine to have swim and relax. Breakfast is tastier. Service is warm and best at their restaurant. Not visited the attached bar but heard it is good. Good parking facility. Willing service team always available to assist. Stayed as group of 4 families from 6 to 9th Sept 2022. Tip: choose canal facing rooms for fabulous views of flowing water. Rain during our stay brought thunder β›ˆοΈ.

worst experience..Room was dusty and smelled smoke. The door lock wasn't proper and we had to struggle to get in. Very old property not properly maintained The restaurant was horrible (don't get misled when you see FREE BREAKFAST).better to go out and eat your breakfast our car also got scratched by their workers and no proper response for that.. Never take rooms here unless you don't 've any other choice

Hotel not unhygienic. Infested with mosquitoes. No proper room service. Reception dont answer calls. We have to approach them. I went with my twin babies under 1 year and it was a horrible night with mosquitoes. Electric outlets planning was so poor. We could not connect a mosquito repellent properly. I would not recommend this hotel especially if you are travelling with young babies
