The best oldest Street food shop. Nowadays they have a dine in place. We use to call “Mama Kadai”. Taste awesome they still try to maintain the authentic recipe and taste. Varieties of dosa and chutney is popular here. Must try place once you visit world’s historical town Tanjore. Highly recommend. Yummy food. 🤤 😋

Highly recommended for economical yet tasty food.. Sticked to the basics of south Indian food like idly, dosa, poori, Pongal, adai etc and is definitely a good place to have food inside the railway premises. Ambience checkers stay away.

This is a well known restaurant in Thanjavur for serving 7 chutnies to their fare.They are 45th year in running and have a loyal clientele built in trust. Offers all South Indian staples and is highly pocket friendly. Don't get put off by the appearance this place is highly hygienic as well. Highly recommended. Also try their outlet near railway station Anjaneya temple.

Food items are nice. Rates are nominal. We have to wait for little time to get seats and for group it's not possible to sit together. Hygiene can be improved.

Rating is not for food or service. As per google information the hotel should be open by 7 am. When I went at 7.05 nothing was in service. Atleast 45 min will take to commence the service. Check the timing

I had ordered lunch vathakulambu and tomato rice vathakulambu rice is ok but tomato rice is not nice and is too salty

This is the chain that also runs "Railadi" canteen behind the parking lot of Thanjavur Railway station. It was closed on Sunday and thankfully our cab driver mentioned this new branch having started about 6 months back. We have been enjoying their dosa varieties, specifically Poondu Podi Dosa for over a decade. Subbiah Tiffins is notches better compared to Railadi when it comes to seating and ambience and the food, hygiene and service remaining unchanged or better. Their speciality is 6 varieties of chutneys and sambar as accompaniments to either dosas or idlis. We are used to just one variety of chutney from across the state border and 6 varieties are unique, to say the least. Hoping the qulaity and service will continue to be the same or better!!
