Main Rottnest town with supermarket, cafes, bike hire, gift shops and information centre located here. Quokkas can be seen throughout this built up area, under tables and chairs especially in the main areas around the supermarket.

Rottnest Island was very interesting and beautiful especially with their residents of quokkas. Lovely scenery with beautiful coastline, delightful beaches to swim and snorkel, many walking paths, cycling, etc. There were lots of birds to see as well, including a couple of osprey nests.

A compact and we'll served centre for all you will need on Rottnest Island. The Settlement has a well stocked grocery and liquor store, a fine bakery, in addition to a good variety of places to eat serving all budgets. The central bike and flipper hire and the Visitors Centre are found there too. There are a couple of ok beaches, though others on the island are more picturesque and private. Of course it has the majority of the accommodation on the island, and is closest to the ferry terminal. It is also the place most of the island's quokkas seem to congregate. They are to be seen hopping down the main drag, under shady fig trees, are reasonably cooperative for selfies, and constantly attempting to get into the shops!

Good resources and facilities in a very busy space but still very well organised and managed. Beautiful setting.

Quokka's everywhere. Just remember not to feed them. Easy to get photos as they just aren't scared. We did a bus tour and thoroughly enjoyed seeing all around the island. Didnt know until we got there but you can also stay on the island with many different types of accommodation

Nice spot with plenty of facilities close by. If you plan to visit the island and want to hire bicycles, I recommend to hire them on the island and not through a ferry company. Main reason is they have a repair service on the island if your bike breaks. Quokkas are everywhere around here trying to steal food. Don’t feed them as they get manky from eating human food.

Beautiful spot, short ferry from Fremantle. Like a little Maldives :) without the warm water, but these cute quoakkas everywhere. Advice prebook bikes to ride . E scooters are in short supply. 4 stars because direction around the island when riding your bike around could be much better for first time visitors.

Always nice here, it a good place to sort yourself out before heading out for a ride or hike. Busy over the summer period so it's always nice to get out of the town. There is a new pop-up Bar serving nice cocktails and refreshing beers.

Everywhere is great to stay on the island, but Thomson is great for the elderly and families with young kids as everything is on the doorstep. Shops cafes bars beach. Never tire of coming to Rotto

Who doesn't love Quokkas! The whole of Rottnest Island is amazing... no wonder so many people love coming here... we travelled from Queensland to see this place and certainly wasn't disappointed... just love Rottnest and Quokkas! Thank you highly recommended + we did a guided tour, fantastic!

You can find quokkas around the settlement, they love people and hate water. They won't be around the beaches

👍 Its a nice place to take your family. It is a historic place with a sad history behind it. They show a small video of the history behind it. You should definitely visit when you go to rottnest island. Remember in the back room there will be two drawers that you can open to see cool stuff. They are a...
