Love stopping here on our way home. Great pies that can be heated up if you want take out to enjoy on the road. Great service by die people working there. Always friendly. We had the Peppersteak, Chicken and bacon and the Spinach and feta pies. Every single one of them was delicious.

Outstanding. Hope you guys win the best of the cape award for the 3rd time in a row. Definitely deserve it. Pies are fantastic and so are the snacks. I drove out an hour just for it.

You need to get the chicken mayo toastie from here, it’s so so good! I’ve had it sit-down and takeaway and it’s consistent no matter how many times I’ve been here and whether you get it there or for the road. Highly recommend! If you’re a wine lover they have the most incredible wines at cellar prices, we always grab a few bottles from there before heading home

This must be one of the best farm stalls in South Africa. It's super clean. So many treasures there. From Biltong to the best pies ever. Wine, baked goods, gifts, fresh fruit and veg. Meat. The works. There is a restaurant for those who want to dine in, and even a hiking trail. You can stop for a quick leg stretch and grabbing a bite to eat, or spend the day or sleep over.

Absolutely love coming here. It’s my once a week stop when passing through to Hermanus. Great coffee, friendly staff and the resident cat, prince Harry, is just too sweet. Wide selection of food, condiments and confectionery. Take always and dine in. Nice breakfasts and cake. An essential to any passer-by.

On our way from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, we stopped for breakfast at Houw Hoek Farm stall and it was DELICIOUS. The breakfast was big and very tasteful, not expensive at all. We also purchased some goodies for the roadtrip, lovely treats, home baked meals, desserts and pies as well as a selection of wines and beverages. We'll definitely visit again.

I thought the pies would be over-hyped, they still exceeded my expectations! The flavours and quality are incredible. The baboti pie was out of this world. The stall had lots of cashiers so even though it was super busy (2PM in peak season) they queue still moved quickly. There are benches outside where you can sit and eat your spoils. They have good ice cream too - the Belgium chocolate lolly is particularly good.

It is a definite must do on the way home. I prefer to end off any trip along the N2 with a famous Houw Hoek pie. It is really delicious and so worth the stop. I usually choose one of the pies that are straight out of the oven and freshly baked, however, the venison pie is my favourite. This time I had a steak 🥩 and mushroom 🍄. It was good but not as good as the venison. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are used to helping people from all walks of life and this can be seen by their helpful and kind nature. Definitely worth the stop 👌👌👌

Wow wow wow! On our way to Struisbaai, my family and I had lunch at the restaurant. It was so good, that we had lunch there again on the way back (only 2 days later). I had the mango & chicken salad, which was absolutely delicious. Lots of chicken in the salad, which I loved. On the way back, I had a bran & banana muffin, which I also loved. I would definitely recommend eating here!

These pies and quiches are phenomenal. There isn't any better. We stopped here on the way to and on the way back from our destination. Their prices are reasonable. The surrounding vistas are beautiful, sitting at the picnic tables on the grass was lovely. There are jungle gyms to keep kids busy.

Great farm stall, no wonder it was voted best farm stall in 2021. Excellent fresh produce, baked goods, preserves, sauces, wines and much more. They even have a meat counter, biltong and droewors counter, ready made meals and bakery on site. There is also a coffee shop with excellent food. The shop it clean and immaculatly packed. Well worth the visit. We will be back.

Had the Beef Curry for lunch, and my wife ordered a burger. Food is made with care, curry was delish! We missed the rush, ordered around three o'clock. Waitress friendly and helpful, drinks delivered promptly, and food soon after.

This Farm stall is situated on the N2 freeway. They bake the the world's best pies. Wonderful place to go for a delicious breakfast! Food taste great and the kids have a wonderful time playing outside while the parents can relax. Plenty of parking and safe.

N2, National Rd, Elgin, Grabouw. Houw Hoek is a beautiful farm stall that you simply cannot pass by without stopping and exploring. There are quite a few businesses on one premises which promises to keep you entertained for a long time. There’s Padkos where you can have something to eat, Peregrines who sells a 3 cheese combo which is delicious and I can vouch for it! an amazing bookshop different from any book shop I have seen before, Annabel’s gift shop which is basically a tearoom surrounded by beautiful and colourful gift ideas, and the Barnyard which sells anything from baskets to antique wears. The farm stall also sells the most beautiful bags and baskets and I OFCOURSE own one of these beautiful baskets😁Parking is plentiful, the toilets are super clean and there’s a place for kids to play under the trees. If you want to buy something to eat or even bring your own food, you will be able to enjoy it on well placed benches under the trees. So much to do, all under one roof.

Nice cafe although sitting outside is at the risk of all the car fumes as the carpark surrounds the building. The apple crumble was nice, but only if you like coconut as the crumble is not traditionally made. The breakfast was good, a bit lacking with one slice of toast.

We did not stay long but wanted to buy the famous Pies which we always buy. This time the venous had bacon in and we were very disappointed but bought chicken and mushroom and Spinach and Feta. Just as good. The shop is so clean and everything is clearly marked. We will be back

What a wonderful experience. Lovely atmosphere. Speedy and efficient service with a smile. Lovely food. Hot and tasty from the kitchen. Wide variety on the menu and lots of daily specials. Shop with interesting buys and culinary delights. Clean bathrooms that is always a wonderful bonus. Enough parking and playpark for the kids. Pet friendly. All in all a nice place to visit and stop on your vacation or outing.

This is specifically for houwhoek pies Franschhoek bp garage, I don't know if you cater your pies as pre cook or not vut as someone that comes from Elgin and know your pies, these are a disgrace for being undercooked and soggy please stop blemishing your name by catering here as it does not live up to standards.

Excellent stop along the road to pick up essentials. The pies are amazing, wine selection is the best in the area. Wide selection of foods and snacks offered to you by very friendly and helpful staff. They always have a minute to stop and chat with you, helping you to decide what yummy item to add to your basket. Restaurant is also excellent with well prepared meals. I will try to make this a regular stop when travelling through this area.

Amazing farm stall on the N2, perfect for a stopover when travelling to/from Cape Town. They stock the most delicious freshly baked goods and a variety of other products (including a good selection of local wines). The restaurant/cafe has a good menu offering their pies and more. Great service!
