Everything was perfect! The rooms were clean. The food was delicious and the service was above and beyond! They helped us so good when the police took our license plate. They called the taxis for us and helped us to translate everything we got from the police. I definitely recommend this hotel!!!!

Beautiful hotel in the heart of the city. Breakfast buffet could use minor upgrades but satisfying overall. Very friendly people and always keen to help. I’d go back again !!

Best hotel in the heart of the city. Very good stuff. The rooms are beginning to get old, needs renovation soon.

A nice city hotel, centrally located close to everything. Small bit clean room. The only thing missing would be more plugs for the electronics. But nice overall, great complementary breakfast

Toilet kept dripping all night. Room door doesn't block hallway light. Breakfast is very very basic. You should add 2 Euros for cappuccino.

Great Experience! The staff has been very kind, professional end helpful. We really enjoyed our stay there. The hotel is situated in the middle of the heart of Thessaloniki. Bordered my beautiful and accurate restaurants, bars, bakery’s, shops. And much more. You can really do and see so much from it by foot or by public transport’s.

The rooms were awful. Decent size. Cheap furniture, beds that make noises when you move. Tv without smart features so you couldn't even see youtube or use your Netflix account. Sound proofing was non existent. The air conditioning was too noisy even at the lowest setting. The decoration was awful inside the rooms as well as the corridors. It was clean though. It should be much cheaper. It has 8 stories and 2 elevators. They are not close to each other and they are very small and not automatic. During the breakfast time, you cannot use any of them. They are constantly occupied. The location was At the center of the city. Great location for downtown activities. Lots of restaurants around.

My group & I stayed in city hotel Thesaloniki for 2 nights . This hotel has great location , very good breakfast and staffs in breakfast room are very polite and helpful. All staffs in the reception were very helpful to fulfill our requests regarding check in and booking taxis.... specially Maria who treats us with hospitality & efficiency. I highly recommend this hotel.

I am very satisffied for choosing this hotel! It is on the great location, although the rooms and indoor are like you are in some green oaza! Staff are super polite, whatever i asked they are more than happy to answer and to help. I asked on our arrival to change the room because the room i had in my mind is more convenient for staing with baby and they didn’t have and doubts to do me a favor, even they helped us to carry over the things. Breakfast is better than some other hotels in Thessaloniki and i really loved super details in the room, that you can make yourself a great doclegu*to coffee! Really great experience with this hotel in center near the sea side and all town facillities.

This place was a good hotel. It was clean, had good service and whatnot. The reason that it deserved a one star review is that we ordered room service and they mixed up our order. It took 20 minutes for them to deliver it, and the food wasn't so great.

Room was unbearably hot. Discussed with front desk, who controlled heat/air conditioning. Not helped Lovely breakfast and great location

My girlfriends and I went on a tour of Athens. We stayed at many hotels but the City Hotel Thessaloniki really stood out from the others. The position is perfect, right in the middle of town, the rooms are just so comfortable. The breakfast area works well and the lounge downstairs is a good meeting place. Thank you for looking after us and making our stay with you so pleasant

I stayed during the first week of June 2023 for business purposes with my manager. The hotel had an amazing staff, and the receptionists were professional and exhibited excellent behavior. Additionally, one of the ladies at the reception named Ms. Marika discovered that we shared the same birthday. She sent me a wonderful gift and arranged for one of the high-category rooms for our stating night. This hotel highly recommended. ✌🏼peach out

Superb Location in the center of the city. Room was ok and clean whereas the breakfast was very good with a big variety of goods. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to wait for the lift quite substantial time though the hotel features only two lifts. But there is always the options of the staircase :). Lastly, there in no parking in the hotel but there is the option to rent through the hotel in near park stations.

This is THE HOTEL what I choose while staying in the city. Great location, comfortable rooms and parking arranged by hotel for 25Eur per day. The hotel personel and service is superb, especially Tamara, the reception manager who is always up to the task and helps us with all our inquieries and demands.

We stayed her for 6 days and it was just lovely. The rooms are very clean. The bedding and towels very clean. The staff are all friendly, helpful and accommodating. There's a lovely spa on the lower level. But the breakfast is just amazing. Scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fresh yogurt with fruit preserves and my all time favorite honeyed figs. Nuts cereals tiropita, hearty rolls and breads. Thessaloniki bagels. Everyday the accompaniments with thenm scrampled eggs changed mushrooms potatoes sausages. We are still traveling the last two weeks and haven't stayed at a nicer place.

Hotel is in the heart of the city but close to the port. Good clean simple hotel . Staff where always very polite & helpful & spoke English very well. Breakfast between 7am to 11am was nice but at busy times the eating area was too small with not enough tables& chairs.. All in all a pleasent hotel

Hotel is located central downtown close to the promenade. Room was nice, roomy and clean with A/C and mini bar. A balcony with table and seats was also available (important for smokers). Wifi available for free. The noise level was okay for me, but could be a bit loud for some in the morning due to traffic. The reception staff were friendly, courteous and spoke understandable and good English. Recommended accommodation for business trips and city tours.

Location and cleanliness are good or maybe very good. Just be careful what rooms you are staying in because some have the window located into a dark and gloomy "back canyon" between the buildings. If you can, insist for those that look over the front street.

My sister booked a Junior Suite for her and her grandson for four nights a Junior Suite with city vies at Au$375 (215€) a night and the room had one bed and a sofa that turned into a bed.On Thor arrival on 21/8/23They asked for a room with two beds and were told the hotel was booked out. There was not much of a city view. The decor was outdated and not appropriate for a 4 star hotel that was advertised. The Elecra Palace Hotel down the road which is a 4.5-5 star hotel charges even less for a nights stay. Very disappointing

The room was quite small, especially the bathroom was quite cramped. Staff were visibly annoyed when we asked if we could order a few drinks around 11pm sitting in the lobby. The location is absolutely fantastic though. Close to the beach, cafes and landmarks like the White Tower and Aristoteles Square.

An extremely bad experience. the receptionist refused to show us a room before. It charged us more expensive than booking com. we got stuck in the bathroom due to the broken door, breakfast was a disaster. they had no slippers and towels. we had to call the front desk. A HOTEL OF MAXIMUM 3 STARS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND

The hotel is ok and very centrally located The reception staff is friendly and helpful, Room as ok, but bathroom very tiny The light in the lobby and toilet can improve a bit, it looked just a bit dark. There is no slippers.. The breakfast room is definitely tight on rush hours. Must improve They offer you 2 options for parking your car, either a kind of valet service (and you give them the key), or they will tell you how you can park yourself. Just a few seconds after I stopped in front of the hotel when arriving, one staff immediatel came out to help me regarding the car. Although, payment should be at property - they they charged me the full amount even before I arrived in Thessaloniki (right after the cancellation period expired) The furniture is not in good condition, there are signs of use: wobbly handles on the wardrobe, crooked doors on the mini bar Rooms are noisy with poor sound insulation. Air-conditioning (only heater) was also noisy... Not value for the money

A centrally located hotel within walking distance to most local amenities. Rooms are small, yet functional. Bathrooms are dated and prone to flooding when showering. Lifts are dated and very small. Aircon was hit and miss in our room and although mentioned, was hardly addressed. Staff and service however, made up for those shortcomings. Special mention to Christina from the breakfast staff was always helpful and cheerful.

Update!! The response from the director is full of lies and he should be ashamed of his conduct and what he has written. If the fridge was working why on earth did we have to ask for ice buckets several times? This is just one example of issues with the room. I have screen shot everything and taken photos and videos as proof for legal action under EU consumer laws. The manager and waiter both came into the room and agreed and were totally embarrassed, saying that an apology is not enough and would call Expedia to arrange a full refund, which you confirmed you would request on Monday, but quickly back tracking due to my honest review! I did not ask for a dirty taxi to the airport as I was happy to take the bus across the road nor did I ask for watered down non alcoholic mojitos. Very dishonest response you made to try and discredit a true and clear picture of events. -------- Avoid unless you want stress and anxiety as that is what this hotel does well. Night staff so arrogant gum chewing and staff dishonest and lied Very disappointed room not as described. Feel like staying in a linen cupboard with air con sounds like a plane taking off. Fridge is broken no bath or espresso machine as advertised and curtains not blackout. Reception don't want to add airline miles as saying not booked direct does not state that in terms and conditions. Again trying to Avoid doing the right thing. I would advise anyone Not to stay here. It's the Worst stay. And had no sleep.

Effective place to stay. Nice and busy, many restaurants, close to market, but for Parking need to goto Third party Parking Garage, such as Parking Planteia.

Personnel extremely polite and helpful. Rooms are clean and well maintained but basic Infrastructure is quite old and it shows - rooms need some serious refurbishment esp bathrooms, a/c etc.

I stayed here 9 nights recently with a group and City Hotel was amazing! Every staff member was friendly and helpful. They expedited a check-in when I had to change rooms, they remembered our names and said hello throughout our stay, and a special shout out to Nikolous at the bar in the evenings! He took care of us and helped us relax after busy days. The location is fantastic; the breakfast choices were plentiful; even the lunches and snacks we had were tasty. Everyone in the group liked their rooms; the beds were comfortable and room sizes were very good for Europe. I was a little sad to leave because they took such good care of us - looking forward to next time!

My best hotel option in city center

  • 5/5 Şafak A. 1 year ago on Google
Location, cleaning and the employees were perfect. Breakfast was good and enough. The size of the room was a little bit small, especially the bathroom. It would be better if the hotel had a free parking area. The one and only problem was the beds. Beds were really so soft and if you have any health problem like me (back hernia and etc.) and should sleep in a hard bed, unfortunately those beds are not suit for you.
