Nice & Conducive hostel indeed. I was having a quiet time on my own on the 6th floor because the other floors were busy and boisterous with too many guests running around. I was sitting on the sofa next to the lift reading when the vilest of attitude morning reception staff confronted me with the most obnoxiously aggressive demeanour and vehemently interrogated me which room I was in then proceeded in the most shrill condescending tone demanded that I removed myself this instance! How ludicrous and preposterous this is!?! So much for a pleasant stay. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

The bedroom was clean, but not comfortable. There were some ants coming in from the neighboring room, but nothing major. The common rooms were cluttered and dirty and the bathroom was a disaster. The toilets were all full of toilet paper and human feces. The hostel provides nothing: no shampoo, conditioner or body wash. They also do not provide any cleaning supplies to sanitize the space before you use it. We had to go to the local store to buy cleaning supplies to even think about using the shared showers. Even so we stood on a plastic bag to protect our feet. They also charge you for every little thing. Like an extra blanket or towel. We only booked because of the great reviews, but I regret staying there. We would have left and gone somewhere else, but they make you pay before seeing the room/space and don’t allow refunds. I wouldn’t recommend this hostel at all.

I have stayed in literally hundreds of hostels so have a good idea what makes for a good and a bad one: this is 1 of the best. It feels they have thought through everything a traveler would want - good WiFi, sockets beside each bed, clean bathrooms, multiple common areas, a lovely rooftop, super friendly staff and on it goes. They also thought through the little things which is not make or break but makes such a difference. This combined with the fact it's the cheapest hostel in Thessaloniki. Stay here!

I've given 5 stars to the rooms, service, and location, yet 4 stars overall, and for a reason. Virtually everything about STAY makes it the perfect hostel for any traveller in or through Thessaloniki. It is located perfectly, a 10-15 minute stroll to anything in the city, the rooms were clean, the AC worked perfectly, and when we arrived, exhausted after a 6 hour trip, the staff was kind and welcoming, and we got to our rooms instantly without a single problem. On top of this, pun intended, is a great rooftop terrace with tables, chairs, long chairs and couches where all the tenants hang out, a great and social part of STAY. However, I've removed 1 star due to small little issues that arose that I think could be improved upon. The bathroom was not as clean as the rooms, and every stall door, including the showers, didn't lock, which can be awkward in bathrooms shared among 20+ people. Additionally, the kitchen was under equipped with very little cutlery, no stove, a very small and dirty fridge which again was shared among many people. Removing a star may be harsh for such details, especially in a hostel, but I think given the attention to everything else shown by STAY, these are aspects that could be improved upon. Anyone who likes cooking their own food would have a difficult time, and that applies to me. I had to eat out in the city almost every night due to the underwhelming kitchen, and it quickly got expensive. Overall, I don't see any accomodation being better within Thessaloniki, especially for the price. Highly recommend.

FIrst of all i will start by saying it worth the price. The shared room are nice with space, comfertable beds, big lockers and also space near the bedto equip stuff. The rooms also have table and chairs, window and air condition, basiclly the rooms are great. Staff is lovely snd kind and avalible 24/7 in the reception. Location as well very good, in the center, few minutes from anything and everything. Two thibgs to improve and thats why i didnt gave 5 and marked the service as 4 as well. The public area facilities are not well reserved, some things are torn or broken, not enoufgh places in the showers to hang the clothes and towels and, as well the showers are shared for men and womenso you must wear clithes inside the shower chamber which is less comfertable. In the kitchen there is no cooking or baking options, just toaster and microwave. 2nd thing to imporve is the cleanessof the public areas, this is also guest responsbility to take care their garbadge and dirty dishes, but still the garbadge cans in the kitchen and in bathrooms were overfull many times and more cleaning and housekepping is needed for sure. at the end like i said atvthe begining its cool place and worth the price and i recommend it.

The place can be easily accessed by bus from the bus station or the airport. The location is perfect especially if you like walking. The waterfront is just 5-10mins walk from the hostel. Supermarket and convenience store are within walking distance too as well as some really good Greek Restaurant. The beds were comfortable and I had a good night sleep throughout my stay. The only downside and the reason why I didn’t give a perfect 5 is the Toilet. A lot of cubicles are broken. Showers are broken. Doors have no lock. I think out of the 5 available toilet only 2 have locks. For the shower almost all cubicle have defect

Great location, friendly staff, hugely comfortable bed, great roof terrace BUT the simple things were overlooked. The bathrooms were a disaster - each a big shared space with several toilets and showers. The toilets cisterns did t hold enough water for an effective flush and filled so slowly they were always full of other people’s business, and despite a cool sign warming the user not to put toilet roll in them they were always filled. Simple solution? Sticker on door! The showers leaked and had nowhere to keep a towel but what possessed design crew to have opaque glass as doors is a mystery. The ‘kitchen’ was a fridge, a kettle, an egg boiler? and a coffee pot. Only 2 butter knives and one spoon with plastic cutlery. Cleaners did a great job on their shift but don’t think it was cleaned again. so always a mess for most of the day. To fix these issues - and have smoking only on the roof where the smell wouldn’t permeate the building - would make the hostel an amazing space.

This is absolutely NOT the place to stay. 1. I was initially issued a room with drug addicts. I asked for change only to be moved to another room with drug addicts. The staff doesn't bother putting short-term visitors separately than those long-term addicts. They have many floors. 2. The other person (drug addict) in the room urinated on the floor when I came to take my stuff and leave for a different accomodation I booked. 3. The shared kitchen was in absolutely terrible condition and I could not sit there for even 1 minute. Nothing compared to the pictures on the net. Drug addicts had there leftover junk stuff everywhere. 4. Shared showers and even some toilets didn't have any doors. Were not cleaned. Open drains. Many diseases. No place to hang any clothes or even a towel while washing my face. NO NO NO! JUST DON'T BOOK this if you care about your physical safety. I had to book a different accomodation in the middle of the night and leave. Pro tip: I made friends with a German guy on a local tour and later visited the Zeus is Loose Hostel for a shared dinner. Very cool place and very cool crowd. Zeus is Loose Hostel had really really nice common spaces. Comparable to a hotel. Absolutely recommend it. I spent a nice Christmas eve with the crowd there which cheered me up a little on otherwise bad experience.

Unfortunately I didn't get to stay here because of cancelled flights due to corona. I kindly asked the hostel team to waive the fees since the cancellation of the accomodation was a result of forced circumstances (FC). The hostel told me so, themselves. Still, they refused to discuss the matter furthermore and simply stopped replying to my mails on booking.com. Very disappointed.

The toilets were very, very, very dirty and smelly, broken doors at the toilets, and the showers were full of hair at the drain. The bedsheets smelled nice though. The room smelled like feet. Cleaning service seemed to be absent. If they want to be good, they need to work on that. Not recommended.

Great rooms but absolutely terrible bathrooms and public spaces. There are 2 shared bathrooms for 8 floors. On 8 toilets there was only one with a lock. Also the toilet doors are made out of glass as well as the shower doors which is terrible and zero privacy.

The employees are super nice. The rooms were okay. The public space was a bit dirty but alright. But the bathroom and especially the toilets were so disgusting that 2 days was the absolute maximum I could have stayed in there. I checked out each floor to find a clean toilet but they were the worst I have ever experienced.

This is basically student housing, where each floor has shared common areas and baths. As a result, there is no social center, and the kitchens do not have stoves or ovens, so self-catering is difficult.
