I stopped in for a visit as a guest recently and really enjoyed the clean gym, the fellow students, and Professor Mendanha's instruction. I found everyone at GB Brossard to be very nice and welcoming. It felt just like being at my home gym. My only regret is that, due to time constraints, I couldn't make it back for another class or two.

Very family oriented school. The people here are very talented, helpful and respectful. A must try.

I've been training here since June of 2018 and I can confirm it's a fantastic gym. The atmosphere is both welcoming and competitive, the teachers are great at giving instruction, and everyone I've rolled with is eager to both share techniques and learn from their training partners. Also, if you're out of shape or wondering if BJJ is right for you, don't even hesitate, come down and train! I started out of shape & overweight and wasn't treated any differently. I did what I could, worked hard, and everyone was really accommodating. I couldn't imagine training anywhere else!

Best place to train Martial Arts in the South Shore. Learn real life self-defense in a safe and friendly environment regardless of your age or gender. Professor Rodrigo is awesome! GB Brossard has a program for everyone!

For work I travel up to Canada all the time and roll at different Gracie Barra locations. GB Bossard has been my favorite. Professor Rodrigo Lima Mendanha is one of the best BJJ the sport could ask for. I was recently there for a tournament and not only did him and his staff help prepare me he also took the time to coach me. He is definitely salt of the earth type of guy and very inspiring to just be around. It was humbling and exciting for me to be trained by him. He breaks down techniques easily that the learner can digest them and apply the techniques adequately. The facility is very clean. My only regret is that I can’t travel up there more often because I can’t wait to go back. Thanks for everything Professor Rodrigo!

Although my experience was short lived due to Covid (I haven’t trained since) you are not just getting practical self defence knowledge but also a full experience of kinship. Egos are left at the door and an aura of mutual respect surrounds every student and professor alike. Without trying to come off as preachy or cliché as hell, the benefits of jiu jitsu extend far beyond the physical side. For someone like myself, self esteem and confidence are parts of my life that I’ve always struggled with. Jiu jitsu became an outlet for me to practice mindfulness and being present in the moment (or get choked out!). Also worth noting: the academy itself is super clean!

What can I say....my kids have been going there for two years and it is just an amazing environment for them and they have made many close friends. I also just joined a few months ago and the other students are really cool and go at your pace so you never feel out of place regardless of your fitness/skill level.

Best schedule on the South shore, no doubt about it. Solid fundamentals and curriculum. Good location. Has parking. Excellent kids program. Expensive and mandatory uniforms. No showers. Expect to pay around 150$/month.

Had an amazing time at GBB but sadly, had to relocate for work for the near future. Carl Légaré is an exceptional instructor. His teaching style, dedication and supportive nature makes me want to train harder and more often. Highly recommend this gym and I hope to return soon!

I’m posting this review 3 years after we left GBB and moved to the US, and there’s a reason! Today I took my youngest (3 yrs old) to a try out class at our local GB & it was fine the instructor were good, the school was good, but it wasn’t OUR SCHOOL! It wasn’t professor Rodrigo making all the kids fall in love with Jiujitsu as young as 2-3. It wasn’t coach Fernanda loving all the kids as if they were hers! It wasn’t coach Clair with her pink Gi making all the little girls want to be her! Coach Jp, Lev, Andre & many many others each one of them knew every single kids name their strengths & weaknesses, what makes them engage, what makes them calm down, how to make them laugh & learn at the same time. All the parents knew all the kids. We had birthday parties & picnics. We felt like a family everyone looked after everyone. Made me fall in love with JJ myself so I joined the BarraFit Course & got a text from coach Fernanda 15 minutes before the class reminding me that both my body & soul need to workout. I love that school I miss it, and I encourage you not to miss out on joining the best JJ family, the home of the champions. The best 4 years ever

Sensei Rodrigo is a bjj champion and also a 3 degree black belt. He is an awesome professor and he is able to share his knowledge in a fun environment. I really recommend Gracie Barra Brossard for everyone that wants to try and do BJJ.

Only had one experience with the gym, and I was very disappointed. I moved to Quebec and looked to continue training with my kids. After looking at the Gracie Barra Brossard website, I noticed they offered a Parent/children's class on Saturday. I contacted through email and received a response to come by the next Saturday to have a class. I showed up at 11h, the same time as indicated on the website schedule only to find out the class time changed to 10h30. They did not notify me of the time in the email response, and I noticed it was only a children's class not a Parent/children's class. In addition, I already had Gi's for myself and my children, but was informed that I would have to purchase the "official" Gracie Barra Gi. I would recommend looking at other gyms first before doing business here.

If you’re looking for a place to your kid to learn good values and sport, this is The place! I took my son for the first time to the kid/parent class, he was 3 years old (almost 4y). Since there, we never stopped. My son now is 9 years old and he still loves to go! Fernanda and Rodrigo make every kid feel special. Thank you 😊 Barra Gracie Brossard
