Horrible skate sharpening. I don’t know if the person was having a bad day but I got my skates and my little brothers skates done and they were worse after the sharpening. I’ve been skating since I could walk and I know when a pair of skates has been properly sharpened. Highly don’t recommend, it’s very unfortunate because the staff was really nice.

Got a skate sharpening right before my game and as soon as the game started I noticed my left skate had weak outside edge. In my second shift of the game I slipped, felt into the board, hurt my shoulder and I had to leave the game. I went back to monkey sports to explain the problem and the one who sharpened my skates (the manager) said that I stepped on a rock and messed up his sharpening. I told him that the whole outside edge was missing. A little bit surprised by what I said he checked it out himself, passed his nail on it and notice I was right but he still didn’t say anything and proceed to resharpened my skates. Once he was done I tried to explain to him that I don’t have to sharpen my skates very often and one sharpening can last me up to 3 months. He told me that he passed the grinder on my blades before sharpening them, so I told him that maybe he just messed up that sharpening. Still closed to the idea that he was wrong even though 1/2 of my outside edge wasn’t there I said to him “can I get the value of the cost of my hockey game in sharpening (20$)” he said no so I left. I buy 2000$ in equipment every year at monkey sports without the sharpening and tape. I felt like the manager wasn’t considerate of what happened and that he didn’t want to listen to my point view. So the right thing to do for me is writing a review of what happened exactly and not going back there again. Leaving me with a messed up shoulder and no hockey game.

The selection was the best we’ve seen in Canada for Goalie gear…. the service was in the bottom of the sport stores that we have frequented.

Great place to get hockey equipment of all kinds. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Prices are high, but on par with all hockey equipment... it's the sport that is expensive.

Pretty good store, MANY sticks and helmet choices. I was looking for ball hockey shoes and gloves and couldn't find any or anybody to talk to me or offer help. I like to support local but I'll find them online.

Very friendly and helpful service. A wide selection of hockey and goalie gear are offered. The best skate sharpening in town in my opinion. Note: you may want to phone to ask whether certain gear is in stock before driving long distances.

Great store, had everything I was looking for and more. I just started playing goalie and came in for new gear, Cam working there helped me get everything I was looking for and answered all of my questions along the way, really above and beyond, great service!

Called to ask if they had a specific skate in stock and was told they were “too busy to check”. The man on the phone told me to check the website, I told him the website doesn’t give inventory which is the reason I was calling. He told me he couldn’t help and that I have to come to the store if I wanted to see if the skates were in stock. How ridiculous! If the store was so busy he could have offered to call me back later and took my number. As an adult getting back into hockey I have a full set of equipment I need to buy. After basically being told that they don’t want my business I will go somewhere else with good customer service. Lost customer

We have driven 350km one way , once or twice a season to deal with them since day one. Great people, very knowledgeable and there is a great selection to choose from. They do get very busy and it's not because they are short staffed. We have bought 2 full sets , skates and pants over the years. Always a pleasure dealing with the staff and the couple times, we were helped directly with the manager. Worth the drive everytime.

Visited from the United States on our trip in Montreal for my son to buy goalie ice hockey skates. Excellent customer service. Free sharpening and "baking" of the skates (for forming to the feet). Good prices. Even encouraged my son to try on goalie pads so he could order them online after we return home and he acquires the money to purchase. Highly recommend and very professional.

A goalies' dream store. Amazing selection and knowledgeable staff. Huge player selection as well. Massive wall of skates and many 'hard to find in Canada' brands.

Ordered a youth goalie mask online that was unavailable anywhere in Calgary - received it in 3days - my son is stoked and saved me many hundreds of dollars as the only options available locally were premium masks; where all we needed is an entry level one to try out the position! very happy with the purchase

Drove from Ottawa to Montreal for the fathers day goalie event only to find that the pads my daughter wanted were not in stock. OKAY?. So your having a huge event but have no stock? Great! I ordered what I wanted online from my car in the stores parking lot. From a different sports store. Good job!

Great experience for sure. I unfortunately didn't find the exact product I was looking for but we had a great customer service from Cam. I would recommend and definitely come back again. You feel welcome the minute you step in.

Great place to get a good and quick last minute skate sharpening (Skate sharpening price 6$). Always very clean with friendly staff and organized inventory and huge selection. The guy at the pro shop was very helpful and went above and beyond to repair my skates. They have a little area to try out sticks and take shots. Everything from rollerblades to hockey bags to helmet repair kit available for purchase! You’ll find what your looking for :). Reliable opening hours

Went there to order custom goalie gear for my son. Cam went above and beyond to help out and ordering the Bauer set up. We were kept up to date on the order and when it arrived was shipped to us with ease. Jen was amazing when placing the order and made the shopping experience better. Definitely worth the visit evening living over 1000 km away. Please open a store on the east coast…. Top service definitely recommend to any goalies… thank you for everything Jaks Johnstone !!!
