Absolutely delicious Chinese hot pot!! Everything was super fresh and the staff was really kind. On top of that, the service was extremely quick. My favourite items to dip in the Yin and Yang soups were definitely the lamb and the beef however all the mushrooms on the menu worked perfectly as well. The 2 soups we had were super delicious they worked really well to elevate the flavours in all the ingredients without overpowering some of the more subtle flavoured items. Overall great experience, looking forward to coming back.

This was my first time and I really loved it! It was a buffet so I was able to bring vegetables and seafood that I wanted. You had to order the meat to the staff; but other than that, you had to use the buffet! The restaurant was very clean and the staffs were super nice!! I really liked the broth that I chose - it wasn’t spicy for me but had a really good flavour! Definitely recommend for people who like hotpot!

Shoutout to Carmen and the lunch staff for being dedicated, caring and efficient. 2023 Update: It keeps getting better. You can get your own food now and the selection is 10/10 super fresh. Autumn 2021 Update: It keeps getting better! Service is so friendly, the manager remembers our requests for spoons and a waitress (Nicky?) is super efficient and friendly. 100% recommended! 2021 Update: it's even better now! Customer service is 10/10, a waitress noticed I was vegetarian and gave me the right broth refill. Incredible hotpot and fresh ingredients. Really good service!

Update September 2023: they renovated the restaurant with open buffet bar now, which is great!! Food are very fresh and staff is friendly, efficient. Reconfirm the best buffet hotpot in town!! A+ -- Update after reopen from pandemic: Still the best lamb hot pot in town. If you're into hotpot and value the broth and lamb: Happy Lamb is your go-to hot pot spot. The service is fast and the waiters/waitresses are friendly. The food is served as ordered. They have the most quality lamb over here! Sliced thin, dipped in hot pot and then dipped in the mixed sauce: Taste delicious! For the soup, you get the choice between spicy and non spicy. Food options include many choices such as seafood (fish, squid, octopus, shrimps, mussels, fish balls, etc.), Spinach, mushrooms (king trumpet mushrooms, needle mushrooms..), beef, pork, tofu, fried tofu.. I'm drooling writing this review. Love the place. You will like it you don't mind the smell of lamb!

If you think the food in the picture worth 120+ dollars. Fine, for me, two piece of sausage for 10 dollars is fxxking ridiculous!!! Worst hot pot restaurant ever.

The all-you-can eat option is 28.99$ per person plus hotpot soup base. The Ying-Yang hotpot (7.99$) was more than enough for our group of 3. There was a good variety of options to try. They provide some thin sliced meats to start but there are plenty of vegetarian options available for self-serve. A limited variety of cooked items were available such as stir fry noodles, spring rolls, and crispy bread rolls. There are a few desserts like jelly, preserved fruits, and cookies. Come with an appetite! We arrived on a Saturday around 3:30pm and it was not yet too busy. It is a second floor seating area with large windows.

I love the all-you-can-eat hotpot concept! There are a lot of tasty things to try out from the wall of ingredients (if you're not a picky eater), such as greens, all types of mushrooms, tofu, clams, octopus and noodles to name a few. As for the meats, they get served separately depending on the combo you choose. Ended up spending just 35$ total for a huge amount of food, and way too much left over!

Had a good experience here several times w family. We loved the lamb! I grew up eating spicey food, I am not as hardcore as a Thai person, I found the spicey hotpot a bit spicier than I would’ve liked but still ok. But if you are unsure it’s better to order the ting yang pot or another non-spicy one. Considering the high cost of everything for restaurants these days I am glad they can keep a reasonable price. I try not to over order because food waste is awful, and it’s hard enough for restaurants these days w the high cost of everything. Service in my experience has always been good

I am a big fan of this chain. Wherever city I go to I look for happy Lamb. This location was just ok. My meat was frozen frozen. I loved the handmade noodles. I give it 3 stars because it was not the best and I am not sure I would return but it was not bad.

Decent hot pot! The food was fresh and tasty! The servers are nice, informative, and offered help without us asking. The vibe in the restaurant was nice!

My friend got the spicy broth, and it was very oily. I got the original and the broth was fine! Good eating experience overall, there was a very small insect on one of the napas.

Broth was average, selection was boring. The dipping make your own dipping is small. After we give our first selection to the waitress (6 items for 4 guest), she brought them and never came back. After waiting for an hour for her to take another round, we got up, paid and left. So.....160$ for about 400 grams of lamb some bokchoi, mushroom, noodle, corn and tofu.......

Perfect on a cold day. Soup bases were the perfect balance of flavour. Food quality was quite good. It may be overshadowed by the other flavourful soup options, but the clear soup holds its own!!

Great quality hot pot at a competitive price! There's a wide variety of delicious items to add to your pot, wether you're a meat lover or veggie lover! Also, it's rare to find an all you can eat that has free soda on tap. Facilities and atmosphere were good, plenty of seating for a busy Saturday night dinner. Service was always fast and attentive. Location is great, right in the heart of Chinatown. Close to the old port and place des Arts if you're looking for other locations to visit after your belly is stuffed. Spent around 40$ for two! Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a warm cozy soup night this winter! (Also, they have a happy hour! Hard to come by these days)

Went out to here to celebrate the anniversary with my boyfriend and even though it was a little pricey, it was worth it. The wait wasn't too long and our server was so nice when we realized we weren't going to be able to share a hot pot due to my allergies and she was more than willing to remake it for us. I ended up spending $103 (2 all-you-can-eats, 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 broths, +tip) so honestly I think it was pretty worth it. I can't speak on it personally but my boyfriend really enjoyed the meat by the looks of it. I'd definitely recommend going here! It's a little loud and pricey but well worth it.

Went there yesterday and today I’m lying down at home with a stomach virus very bad. I cooked meat properly but now I have doubts about the freshness and food safety practices at that place. Sauce choices lacked a lot, there’s not that much choice for toppings and sauces themselves. As far as choices for meat and food, they weren’t bad but some meat definitely had a strange taste. Service is alright, nothing bad and nothing special. The place was very loud and hot, but that may be expected of a hot pot spot. I’m just disappointed that this visit left me with an illness and I hope they improve. I can’t 100% guarantee that this is why I’m sick but the circumstances point towards it. I would opt for a different place just to be safe

Great place to get hotpot as a group. I love the large bowls of broth, very classic. Hand pulled noodle is great.

The restaurant is within a spacious room, with pleasing aesthetic, which was also comforting. The staff is quite welcoming, and helpful if they're aware it's your first time visiting their establishment. The options for the hot pot is quite eclectic, and enjoyable, as well. Conveniently well located in Chinatown, and is upstairs, one can fortunately get to overlook around if they opt to sit near a window that permits said person to look around and embrace their bird's eye view around them.

I don't know of other Chinese hotpot places in/around Montreal but I would be very impressed if they were better than this one. Happy Lamb is a must go to experience Chinese hotpot. We go to it at least twice a year. This time we went as a party of 7. We spent nearly 3 hours chatting and slowly eating. We never felt pressured or rushed, we were always treated by the staff with utmost care and respect. We were practically kings and queens by their service! The food is excellent, all the ingredients available for us to cook in the soup are fresh and flavourful. Whether it's the lamb slices or shitake mushrooms, everything was an absolute pleasure to eat. Created an unforgettable moment in-between friends getting together to catch-up and chat. Thank you for the experience!

Very clean and delicious. Staff was incredibly sweet and attentive! Food was delicious. Wish there were more meat. Still super happy! Broths were wonderful! I highly recommend the skewers. They are an extra cost but worth it! Will definitely be back!

I have been to this place for over 10 years, and it is still my favourite all-you-can-eat chinese hotpot place. For those who have never been to this place, they give you a menu sheet and you have to write down the number of items you want Just make sure you read well because certain items are written like - dumplings (2 per order) so lets say you want 6 dumplings total then you write down 3 - squid (nothing written next to it) meaning you write down the exact total of squid you want I always take the Ying & Yang broth ( one clear and one spicy). I also heard the tomato broth is delicious but I end up taking the usual. One minus for me, there is a counter of all different meat/seafood dipping sauces in small containers (soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin, red hot chili pepper oil) but there got no lids, so just to think of what goes in there in the air makes me wonder. I wish they would be more considerate for small details. but overall, everything is great! Great food, fast efficient service, spacious location and decent price ($28.99 per adult for dinner time)

went there wednesday night, there was a lot of staff and everyone was very friendly. if its your first time at a hot pot place, they take the time to explain everything. service was very good and quick !! we didnt wait at all even though there were a lot of ppl (we arrived around 7pm). they would often come by to re fill our broth and ask if we needed anything we had the yin yang broth: the spicy one wasnt spicy at all but it was still flavourful and good. the other broth didnt taste much, but you can order kelp, pork bones etc so i guess thats a way you could make it taste less bland i personally dont eat meat, but my friends said it was very good, especially the garlic beef. i did eat some cow/beef stomach by mistake and it was really good (which tells a lot bc i dont usually like beef). everything was fresh, the squid and mussels were good, they have lots of tofu and vegetable options !! as for the sauce bar thingy, there was no garlic. i literally had to fish garlic cloves out of our broth. but other than the missing garlic, everything else was pretty much there !! the dessert bar was perfect, after a big hot pot meal fruits are just the right thing !! with tips and taxes, the meal was around $40 which is a very good price for an all you can eat personally not sure if ill go back simply bc i dont eat much so all you can eat restaurants are never my go-to, but its super enjoyable to go there with friends, you get to spend a lot of time together and eating (we were there for a bit more than two hours)

This is my go to spot for Hot Pot since I was like 10 years old, my parents will always bring me there,I forgot their old name since they recently changed it. There’s everything you need from meat to vegetables. My favorite thing is the garlic sauce I mix it myself with other things in front of the counter beside the soft drink machine. I also really like the small fried buns that you can dip in some sweet condensed milk. Overall 9,5/10 a lil expensive 👀🐑

Currently the most affordable hotpot place in Montreal downtown. The food is fresh. Great selection of seafood and vegetable. Service was quick. Comes with some free items available on the sauce counter.

Omg the amount of food we ate was incredible! It's not expensive for all you can get. Good variety of food you can add to your hot pot, seafood, beef, pork, and vegetables. To finish with a small dessert. I really like it. It gets quite busy at dinner time. It's better to get there early or be ready to wait around 20 min.

Great hotpot place. All you can eat, you order of a sheet and they bring you the food. Single pot in the middle of the table or individual pots. The selection for lunch doesn't have the seafood, but it was still varied enough that we didn't feel we were missing anything. Too bad they reduced their hours, lunch is only on Fridays and weekends now.

  • 5/5 Sweet J. 2 years ago on Google
The spicy and regular soup was perfect!! They were extremely busy and ran out of a few condiments but overall worth it.

One star off because the taro we ate was not fresh, otherwise everything else was pretty nice. $2 for soy milk refills, pretty great deal I'd say. Really tasty broth, definitely recommend the tomato soup base 🍅

Had an amazing and really fun birthday dinner at Happy Lamb Hot Pot. It's around 30$ per person for unlimited food to dip in your hot pot, for dinner. We went on a Saturday night and while it was bustling, it wasn't overflowing. The food was delicious and we had a lot of fun. Would highly recommend!

We come here a few times per month to enjoy their grilled squid skewers, their beef, lamb and seafood. The taste is unique and we absolutely love the quality. Never been sick from there. Fast service. Very good broth. Service was very slow last time but you cant beat their quality.

This is the third time going to happy lamb hot pot. Prices are good for what it is. The service was a bit slow. We got there at 6:30 and waited for over an hour for a table. Our group had to be split. There was a reservation table that was empty for the whole time we waited and there was a few empty tables in the back for bigger groups but yet we had to wait. Finally got seated and ordered our soup broth right away. What’s nice is that it is all you can eat. They have an appetizer section that has fried rice and chicken wings. A whole area for DIY sauces, and now a new area for getting your own ingredients. they have a good amount of stock choices to choose from. And a small section for dessert. The broth came out quick so we were able to start eating right away.

I love coming back here, it reminds me of my years in China. I always order the ring yang broth because you can try two of the traditional flavours without compromise. The ingredients and meats have a good variety, just wish they added lotus root to their menu (although maybe I just dust see it). This place has a great sauce bar and a good small of breads. I recommend

Absolutely delicious, a must try in Montreal! The service is incredibly fast, the waiters are kind and everything tastes amazing. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, the prices are very affordable for an all you can eat, especially during happy hour.

It was a very good experience. The broth was nice and flavoured. Some of the meats were frozen, but they cooked up nice and tasted delicious. Most of the vegetables were fresh, some were a bit old but still consumable. The servers were okay, not great, but they were very polite. I would definitely go back.

  • 2/5 Jasmine S. 11 months ago on Google
Very disappointing hot pot - sea food is served with ice, meat balls taste artificial, meat is dry and too thinly sliced. Most importantly the sauce station has too few sauces that it’s impossible to make any basic dips for the sauce. How can you eat a proper hot pot if you don’t even provide oyster sauce or preserved tofu sauce? Even the sesame sauce is watery and no flavour at all :((((((( You are better off preparing your own hot pot than coming to this place…
