It is a small man made waterfall. This fall is not very high but its certainly the one where you along with friends/family can enjoy the waters. Ladies have seperate place to bath, but have to bath with caution,I'm saying this because ,there is a way nearby which takes u uphill to a temple and boating area and one could have an open view of the ladies bathing area. Hope they cover the place where ladies take bath. We along with family had gala time here and we did not want to come out from water fall. Boating has been taken up by the government and is peaceful to go in a row boat. One can see elephants taking bath, elephants dung and has wonderful scenery everywhere u turn. Another thing is that the elephants dung water comes down the falls and we take bath in that they have Tea stalls and snacks shops outside which is a must try after a refreshing bath in the falls. This place needs some better facilities like toilets, changing rooms (govt may charge a fee for it). Apart of these facilities issues, everything was great.

Divine temple of Lord Siva. This is the 3rd Sivālaya Ottam temple. Sivālaya Ottam means running from one Siva temple to another. There are 12 Sivālaya Ottam temples. On Sivaratri day, pilgrims visit/worship 12 Sivālaya temples - Kanyakumari district covering a distance of 82kms within 24 hours by foot. Beautiful Waterfalls and river flowing beside the temple. Ancient architecture of the temple is wonderful. Divine and serene place of Spirituality. Hara Hara Mahadeva 🙏🏻

On the banks of Koothayar river, near the stunning Thirparappu waterfalls, blessed with abundant scenic beauty is the third temple of the Sivalaya Ottam, the Thirparappu Mahadevar temple. The temple has been built around 9th century though some carvings suggest it existed even before that. It is believed that Adi Shankaracharya used to visit and stay at this temple. King Sree Visakham Thirunal also used to visit this temple to offer his prayers.

Third temple in shivalaya ottam Very beautiful and big temple...... Presiding deity is jadadharar Other shrines include shri krishna, vinayagar, bhadrakali, sastha, murugan and many other gods... About architecture... The temple is fully styled in classical chera fashion... The sanctum santorum is circular with copper plated conical roof... Has beautiful sculptures... The temple is elevated by many levels... Area of this temple is one of the biggest among other shivalaya ottam temples... The temple is located next to thiruparapu waterfalls and the outside scenario is very serene at evenings

Temple#3 of the Sivalaya Ottam just by the falls. When we went as part of the 2022 Sivalaya Ottam, there wasn't much water in the river and the falls had very little flow. But took a quick snanam and went to the temple when it had just few devotees. Had a good darshan of Lord Mahadevar, thoroughly enjoying the Kerala style temple architecture.

Good ambience, nice atmosphere. The temple was built in the 9th century AD. The place is surrounded by lush greenery and is very quiet. There are many rocks at the top of the river and we can sit on them and enjoy the beauty. The waterfall is good for a good bath.Thripparappu Falls is a 300 feet (91 m) long rocky river basin at a height of about 50 feet (15 m). The waterfall has been flowing strongly for seven months. The bed above the waterfall is rocky, extending up to a quarter of a kilometer upwards, and a ditch is built to carry water to the nearby paddy fields.
