quaint
homestay
near
Kovalam,
situated
right
on
the
bank
of
an
estuary,
it
has
been
a
great
experience
so
far.
First
to
reach
the
place,
you
would
need
to
take
the
service
road
near
the
True
Value
showroom
and
then
after
700metres,
turn
into
the
lane
that
goes
straight
to
Shalimar.
They
have
two
AC
rooms
and
a
bamboo
non-AC
hut.
Originally
we
planned
to
stay
in
the
hut
but
because
of
the
rains,
they
recommended
we
switch
to
the
AC
room.
The
homestay
had
a
good
lawn
and
the
rooms
are
well
maintained
and
with
good
facilities.
They
don't
have
WiFi
but
that
wasn't
much
of
a
bother.
The
best
part
of
the
homestay
is
usually
the
food
and
the
hospitality
and
that
is
where
Shalimar
really
shines.
John
and
his
family
have
been
running
this
homestay
for
10
years
now
and
they
were
very
attentive
to
our
needs.
Best
of
all,
the
food
was
delicious,
beautifully
cooked
and
totally
pleasing
to
the
eyes.
We
cleaned
out
everything
that
they
gave
us,
from
the
soft
chapattis
and
chicken
kurma
for
dinner
to
the
beautiful
idlis
and
dosa
for
breakfast.
Can't
wait
for
the
fish
at
lunch.
Overall
a
great
place
to
stay
and
relax
with
the
family.
