One of the oldest restaurants in Tvm. I have been a patron since a decade. We decided to visit after a long time. Tried their signature chilly chicken, chilly gobi, chicken fried rice and also butter chicken. Chilly Gobi was great. None of the other dishes stood out. The chilly was the greatest disappointment.

Tried this place for the first place .Ordered Chicken fried Rice & Chilli chicken via Swiggy. Chicken fried Rice was just fine ,not very happy ! Chilli chicken was ok,very spicy too! Have tried out their Chicken Shawai and Parotta along with mint chutney & garlic sauce for dinner ,food was really good & yummy esp Shawai....!!!

Great food at proper rates. Their chilli chicken and Fried rice is one of the best in town.They have menu food dishes to offer. There is only limited parking facility available. Dine in also available. Wait time of 5-10min is expected in the evening as it is relatively rush in eve hours.

A decently good restaurant in the centre of city. Doesn't have much options in the menu. Few chicken dishes, vegetarian dishes and 3-4 mutton dishes. But chicken dishes are good of the lot. No parking space. Well maintained washrooms. Nice ambience for family and all.

Read some online article says there fried rice and chilly chicken is too good and just tried.. No words to say both were mouthwatering.. ❤️❤️

The chilly chicken tasted different here..not bad..just different ..no capsicums ..didn't feel like Chinese .fired rice was lil too oily .the best thing we had from here was the hot wayer. The service guy was really rude ..the dine area is too cramped up and noisy . Wouldn't suggest this place for a dine out

First time i tasted the chilly chicken from here was in 2003, it taste remains the same now also. A kind of nostalgia for those who lived in Trivandrum. Lot of chicken and mutton items are there. But the most popular and best sellers are Chilly chicken, Parotta and fried rice. Not sure about the seating capacity and the atmosphere. 99% of the people prefer takeaways only.

Porotta -Chilli chicken combination is good, they have the same taste since my childhood... specially their"chilly chicken". It is the best chilly chicken I ever tasted in Thiruvananthapuram city. They have a special counter for the parcel ,where you could always see a long queue, sometimes had to wait for 10-15 minutes for the parcel.

Me and my 2 friends went there for a get together and no proper service got from the Boy who attended our table. We asked for several from Menu and nothing was available. At last we ended up with 3 fresh juices and one piece of Black forest. Management please look into this and give proper training to your staff because I am not a fresher to Open house and their food and services.

Famous for its delicious fried rice and cilli chicken. Tastes best as always. Schezwan Noodles also tastes good. Very delicious dishes. Good service. Demand for fried rice and cilli chicken the most.

I wouldn't say budget friendly but the taste is good, though not on the best side.

Everything was good previously but recently i am really disappointed with the pricing at Open House restaurant, charging fried rice and chilli chicken at par with metro city pricing. Chilli chicken quantity has drastically come done even after price hike. They seriously need to consider the quantity a priority.

One of the worst experience I've ever had. Pathetic service. I'll explain. me and my friend came to the place around 2:40 pm and ordered food. Food came after 10 minutes and around 3:10 one rude waiter ( malayali) came and said the restaurant will close in 10 minutes and he just walked away . We were so furious that we didnt feel like eating and left the place immediatly . probably the first time i wasted so much food.

Good food and average atmosphere, but service is not that much okay. The waiters dont even know whats available after taking order and go to kitchen they said its not available. This happened two times🤌🏻. Overall the food is very good. This servixe issue i got may be due to new staffs

The place has reasonable choice of food. The combo items were not available for dinner menu 😕. Food was OK and reasonably tasty - not of very high taste. Service and delivery of parcel was fast. Overall an OK restaurant for a once in a way take away 😁

The atmosphere of the restaurant is good. Staff is helpful and friendly. I ordered chicken fried rice, garlic chicken, porotta, and brownie with icecream. Porotta was good. I mean, I have had porottas from many restaurants before but this was soft, huge and was perfect in every sense. Fried rice and garlic chicken was average. Nothing wow in there. The best thing I had was brownie. It was soooooo deliciouss...

Remember this restaurant and the chilli chicken they serve from my childhood days, nostalgia took me there this time but the food was just okay. We ordered chilli chicken with parottas, parottas were soft and quite big, the chilli chicken was fine, I was expecting a great taste but it was a bit disappointing. We also ordered a plate of fried rice which was also a bit disappointing. Took home a chicken lollipops and they were fantastic, big tender and came with a neat sauce. The ambience was good, spacious dining area. We went around 10 PM so the roads were pretty empty so we could find a place to park by the roadside, during the busy time of the day it might be hard, so plan accordingly.

Too crowded ... minimum of 20min waiting. Their chilli chicken is one of the best in TVM. Something different! MUST TRY. There are some slight confusion regarding the pricing in online delivery app and their portion size. Overall good food.

Iconic restaurant in Thiruvananthapuram. I remember relishing it's chicken dishes in the 1980s. Decades later, time has brought changes to its taste for sure. That old flavour and fragrance of the dishes, however, remain.

Ordered chilli chicken, fried rice and Schezwan noodles. Noodles was okay. The fried rice was very dry, and tasteless. The chilly chicken was the worst. I ordered this dish after seeing so many positive reviews regarding the chilly chicken. The taste was totally different from actual chilly chicken. Was not able to eat the whole potion. So i just threw it away. It was a very disappointing experience.

On 1/03/2023 I bought a parcel of 1 pepper chicken, 1 chilli chicken and 12 porrota. By the time we reached home and opened the packet of pepper chicken a really bad smell came from the same and it was evident from the first sense that the thing was not edible. We tasted some and confirmed it . As for the next step we contacted the restaurant and they informed that they'll look into it and respond soon. We recieved a call after 15 mins just to get the reply that there's no fault in there part and the smell that we sensed to be foul is actually that of coriander and garam masala's. They were soo rude through the whole conversation and were not ready accept there mistake. I am a regular customer of this place and have known their food for almost 30 years, this wasn't something that I wanted to experience and I feel soo surprised that a restaurant with this legacy turned out to be having such low value for their customers.

Good food - not great but safe and good. Consistent in taste. Chinese is better than other dishes. The bakery is also good. Service is so-so. the people taking orders now still do not understand the local language or English. Hindi works. Last time after ordering, I got a dish and a juice different from what was ordered.

The quantity of food has decreased compared to what they used to provide early but the taste is good. All the bearers need to be friendly and must suggest their best dishes. We had to wait for a long time to get served.

Have been a regular since years and we still like the chilli chicken and fries rice served here. Recently tried Gobi Manchurian and paneer butter masala and it tasted good too with Parotta

My first review for one hotel. I have ordered 2 Veg fried rice and 2 Chilli Gobi. Total amount 514 i give 520 not give back balance too. Food is very worst and chilli gobi as not good for single bite.. i complained but no use...

A nice hotel with affordable, tasty meals is available. The cuisine is excellent in both quality and quantity. However, the issue is that there is too much waiting time after placing an order, and the hotel's dining room is upstairs.

Open house is a place which has been a local favorite since 90's. The taste of the chilli chicken and parotta has not changed ever. Always consistent...get some chicken fry too and you can have a very satisfying meal without hurting your pocket. In 90's, they had the best Chilli beef in town but then they stopped serving beef to my disappointment. Anyways, still , this place stays one of my favs.

Worst service and worst food, me and my friends went there last evening (1/8)22) the server said to dine on table which was in a dark area with no proper lighting, we asked to chage tables as we saw the other tables are empty, but he denied saying some excuses, after all we ordered chilli chicken and parotta which they are known for. There was no good pieces there in chilly chicken and it doesn't even tastes good. Feels liked they are using janatha chicken for preparing dishes, worst experience and spoiled our evening. 👎

We had their iconic chicken chilli, porotta and fried rice after seeing many reviews and other's siggestion. We didnt like the taste, chilli tastes different as they use too much soya sauce. They put chicken parts like liver, bum which are normally don't use in chilli. Above all dishes are costly compared to similar restaurants in town. Not worth the try. 😑

Years later. A lot of change. All the cooks are North Indians. Taste and from old to new.. Cleaning and harvesting are a thing of the past. I'm sorry.. Respectful behavior of the staff.. Ordered the Chicken Chilli, which I used to order a lot in the past. All food is good. A relief when I was given hot cumin water to drink. Although the price is high, Open House is a favorite place for taste lovers.

The chilly chicken is super delicious. I have been a customer since around 2005 and still they taste the same. The price is on the higher side, but is the quality and quantity. Highly recommended.
