Tried chicken barbecue and chicken fried rice from this Azad outlet. Fired rice was flavourful and enough for an average person. The barbecue surprised me. Didn't expect such a moist and delicious barbecue from here. Would recommend this to everyone. Their biriyani is also good. Both chicken barbecue half and fried rice costs 499 including tax.

Too busy thus services are getting late. Can't see happiness on staff's face. Found small cockroache on the table while eating 😖 But Chalai Market Azad Restaurant is good in service as well as tasty food 👌🏼

It's been a while since we went out to eat and we decided feb 14 is as good day as any. I had my mind set on a set of butter Nan's and mutton rogan josh. Unfortunately mutton rogan josh was not in the menu and we settled for szhechuan chilli chicken. We loved it. The look and feel of the restaurant itself was very authentic and classy. The one problem i had was with the service. It's not that they were bad. But, it took them so damn long to give us any service. To clean the table, to provide us with menu, to serve the food. The amount of time i spent bored out of my mind still irritates me. Other than that, great experience.

We tried their Chicken biriyani a week ago, and it was delicious the chicken pieces were very tender 🤤 and today got a chance to try their mutton biriyani which was not up to our expectations, mutton pieces were not satisfactory but still would love to try their biryani again.

Service is very very bad👎. It took half an hour to clear our table. Then it took another half an hour for the staff to take our order. Then it took another 45 minutes to get the food. We felt like we had spent a decade there to eat. It's a very awful experience from the side of management of such a reputed firm. The quantity of food was very very less compared to its price. Most of them are overpriced. As per our opinion, the taste of the food is just average (PS: Personal opinion). We could get better and economic food from many other restaurants. I haven't tasted their biriyani which has got a huge fan base, that's why I'm not commenting about it. Overall my suggestion is to make the service much better. In this busy world time is very important. We are not coming there to waste our valuable time. So please improve the service as quickly as possible. Thanks☮️

One of the greatest restaurants in Trivandrum. Situated in town itself. Food was great earlier and all. This time had Mutton soup, appam and Mutton chops. The amount for mutton chops was very higher but there are only very less pieces and a lot of curry. The taste was also not great compared to their yesteryear’s. They have a lot of mutton varieties. Usually during afternoons it will be crowded

Tried 1. Chicken fried rice - was very poor. Literally only 2 pieces of chicken for 230/-. 😡 2.Porotta - average 3. Appam - below average 4. Chilly chicken - average. Table was not also clean. Service was also poor. The waiter came with QR code and all for payment before we finished eating. He was like we may run and go without doing payment. Overall highly disappointed 👎👎👎

Azad is known for its tasty biriyani, however i tried their fish molee and also their tandoori chicken. Very good taste and excellent presentation of dishes too. I would recommend everyone to visit this place for the ambience as well as for the food.

Very tasty food with specialist in biryani. Mutton biryani was very delicious. We also ordered fish curry and chapati but chapati was very bad and undercooked. It is multi storey restaurant with AC rooms on first and second floor. One of the best restaurant Thiruvananthapuram central area.

Liked this no-beef restaurant for its typical Keralian style of cooking. The cooking medium is coconut oil and sunflower oil. Chicken fish and mutton items are really tasty.

The worst ever food I had from trivandrum. The quality of food is below average. We ordered butter chicken and mutton roast( or something like that, I dont remember the exact name), Porotta, Pathiri etc. Butter chicken was too much sweetie. Chicken tikka was only average. Finally we ordered ice cream scoops and they delivered melted one and we have to return the same. Not recommended to anyone.

Best non vegetarian food. Really like their porotta and al-faham. Must try if you are from nearby places. It had long queues so u might have to wait for a bit😁. But having food with your friends and family is worth it. Trust me😁

Title: Pleasant Dining Experience with Some Drawbacks - Azad Hotel, Trivandrum Review: I recently dined at Azad Hotel in Trivandrum and had the opportunity to try their Appam Noolapam, Varutharacha Chicken Curry, tea, and Mint Lime with Green Salad. The food was quite enjoyable; the Appam Noolapam and Varutharacha Chicken Curry had a great taste that satisfied my palate. However, I did experience a bit of a wait, around 20-25 minutes, before the food arrived at my table. One aspect that could be improved is the parking situation. The hotel has very limited parking space, and guests are left with street parking as their only option. This can be quite inconvenient, especially during busy times. Another point to note is that during peak hours, there might be a waiting period for available seating. It's advisable to plan accordingly to avoid any delays. One major downside, particularly for senior individuals, is the location of the toilet facilities on the 3rd floor. This can be quite challenging for those who have mobility issues or prefer easy access to facilities. In conclusion, my experience at Azad Hotel was generally positive due to the delicious food. However, the wait time for food, limited parking, potential seating wait during peak hours, and the inconvenient toilet location on the 3rd floor are aspects that the management could work on for an improved customer experience.

One of the great places where we can have a good biriyani. This food brand has been open for 70+ years. Clean and cozy place for a meal with family and friends. We ordered the Kerala Parotta, Chicken Fry, Oratti and Chicken Korma

During my recent dining experience, I tried a variety of dishes, including Mutton Biryani, Parotta, and Mutton Liver Roast. While the tastes varied, overall, it was a fairly satisfactory meal. The Mutton Biryani was decent, but unfortunately, fell short of my expectations. The flavors were average, lacking the rich blend of spices and aromas typically found in a good biryani. The mutton pieces were tender, but the biryani lacked depth and complexity in taste. Although it was not terrible, I felt it could have been better in terms of flavor and overall execution. On a brighter note, the Parotta was a standout dish. It was skillfully made, light, fluffy, and perfectly complemented the main course. The parotta's texture was spot-on, and it had a delicious buttery taste. And last but not the least mutton liver roast was decent in terms of taste. It had a distinct flavor, although it did not have the wow factor one might expect from a mutton liver dish. While it was cooked and seasoned, it lacked the depth and intensity that would have taken it to the next level. Overall, my dining experience with the Mutton Biryani, Parotta, and Mutton Liver Roast was a mixed bag. The biryani failed to impress with its average taste, while the mutton liver roast was decent but did not leave a lasting impression. Attached menu pics as on 24 August 2023.

Remembering the old traditional taste of Azad Biriyani... that was some 30 years back... oh.. no way to compromise on that taste with the present food of Azad. Biriyani was just ok I can say. Average.

Good dineout and taste but the staff needs ro be responsible to receive customers and ask them for what they want. They are just keep on chatting with them instead of asking the new customers which is bad

The Restaurant has an authentic look as its very old and nice environment. Good place for friends and family 👪. I ordered mutton curry which was really tasty and good proportion. Mutton soup was also very delicious 😋. I didn't like their Biriyani tea coz I felt no difference between it and regular tea.But as they have a biriyani recipie from 1940 so its a must place for biriyani lover.Give it a try !

Be wary of the prices. It's a bit high. The Mixed fruit falooda was charged RS 180Rs. But it lacked the depth and complexity it should have. Fruits were not that much in it. There were a lot of kas kas in an unnecessary level. The ice cream was average quality and served in a not so aesthetic manner. A simple mutton soup was about the price of 130Rs. But it was okay. Decent making. Overall the ambience and service does not match the prices they take.

I liked the atmosphere and food obtained without much delay. We ordered Pepper chicken and Chettinad Chicken cury with porotta and Chappathi.Charged 250 Rs for pepper chicken and only six or seven small pieces 👎. During peak time parking is a problem here.

It was and still is a great place for a meal with your family and friends. There was difficulty finding parking as there is only street parking in-front of the shop. There is ambient seating in multiple spots at different levels. There is no wait for seating or service. Great staff suggests dishes as per our liking. Fast service and affordable prices.

Fantastic experience. This was the first visit for me. Loved the food. Bit slow in service, but worth the wait. Staff is polite and prompt. Conversant in hindi and local language.

Ordered chicken dhum biriyani and alfaham chicken mandhi. Biriyani tasted nice, but unfortunately got a fly at the very end of the rice. I doubt about the hygiene of their kichen. Mandhi was not at all mandhi. It tasted something different. Alfaham was very dry.

Its a good place to visit but the rush i felt there was really bad .. we need to wait min 15-30 mins to be seated after that the food is served after 15 mins. Its very time consuming process. After that its a fine dining restaurant food is nice. Wide variety of food available

8.5/10 neatness & service 7/10 menu and taste 9/10 interior and ambiance Tried chicken biriyani. Presentation was excellent. A neutral biriyani, that’s it. A piece or pineapple, hot water, papad😇😇 and a tawa of dum biriyani. Long rice with boiled chicken. Recommended for long riders. Shop situated at the highway area, the access is lil easy. But the parking is slightly congested. Anyways I’m happy with it.😇😇

Located near Overbridge Junction, opposite Hotel Ananthapuri. Parking for a few vehicles is available in front but will almost always be filled, especially during the peak hours. Seating area is neat and spacious, with tables available in the space below the entrance, as well as in the two floors above. However, during peak hours you still might have to wait some time for a seat. While I have visited this place many times, I always go for their chicken biryani during lunch time. Served with an egg, a pineapple slice, pickle and raita, it is light and filling at the same time, and made with great quality ingredients. While their prices are certainly on the higher side, I would say most of their dishes are worth the price, mainly due to their consistency in taste and quality. Overall, I highly recommend this place for their great food and service. PS - Do try out their chicken biriyani (220 rupees)

Another good place that has a large menu — not impressed with the mutton dishes & could not taste the mutton Biryani. The prawn kothu potato was stunning and so was the biryani chai — very interesting presentation.

Best Chicken Biriyani I had in a while in Trivandrum. 210 rs plus GST.

A good dine-in option at this place. No other good restaurants are available in East fort or overbridge with this much cleanliness or ambience. The food was also good. Their spicy grilled chicken is a must if you are a fan of grilled/Arabic dishes.. The one major issue is parking as we need to park the vehicle on road which is allowed by corporation but most of the times in front of restaurant, the parking might be full.
