I've heard it's one of the oldest markets of Trivandrum! The lanes are narrow, and it's best to explore on foot. Might be a little difficult to book an auto or a cab here but there are autos available outside the market.

Used to be the Business hub of Trivandrum, but the place has lost its value for now, due to non availability of parking spaces. You will get all types of utility items for your house and also for small scale retail business purposes in nominal rate, which is cheaper than any stores in the city. Place is always overcrowded, most of the shops the prices of items are reasonable.....Due to covid the old chalai is now less crowded. But you will get anything and everything here.....
