Iā€™ve never been spoken to more disgustingly than I was by the receptionist here (older lady with short brown hair). I had recurring infection in a tooth that Iā€™d had multiple root canals on and it was causing serious health problems. I called and asked for an emergency appointment and she literally screamed down the phone at me ā€œWE DONā€™T DO EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS, TRY AGAIN!ā€. I was stunned. I then asked for an appointment to see someone and tried to explain what was wrong, but she cut me off. She then proceeded to question me, asking if Iā€™d tried paracetemol, etc. Every time I answered I was cut off by another question and her tone was appalling. It just seemed like she was trying to prevent me from seeing someone. Not sure why sheā€™s a receptionist when she has absolutely no customer service skills. Iā€™d been coming here since I was a child. Laura had always been my dentist and she was excellent, but sadly she left when Covid started. Since Covid, this place has seriously went downhill. When my tooth initially became infected again, my new dentist (also called Laura) told me to leave it ā€œuntil it becomes a problemā€. I trusted her and thought nothing of it, so my tooth was left infected for a few months. I then had a UTI which wouldnā€™t clear up with antibiotics, so it then turned in to a kidney infection. After another course of antibiotics it still wouldnā€™t clear up. My GP thought it was the infection in my tooth that was causing it as the infection flushes down in to your body, so I decided to get the tooth removed. After getting the tooth removed and another course of antibiotics, my kidney infection finally cleared up. Having Googled tooth infection, it appears that itā€™s dangerous to leave a tooth infected as the infection filters through your body every time you eat/drink which can cause lots of health problems - UTIā€™s and kidney infections being the main ones! So I find it strange that Laura was happy to leave my tooth infected. When I finally got my ā€˜emergency appointmentā€™ I asked Laura to take my tooth out as Iā€™d had multiple root canals on it and the infection always came back and it was now causing me serious health problems. She was hesitant to do this and offered me another root canal instead. I insisted no, I wanted the tooth taken out. Once it had been taken out, she said that Iā€™d made the right decision as the infection was right up in the root, so the infection would end up coming back again. I find it strange that she offered another root canal after multiple root canals that always led to infection again. She also didnā€™t x-ray my tooth/gum before extraction to see where my sinuses were, etc. - she just yanked the tooth out. Iā€™ve since moved to a new dentist practice and the difference in service and care is staggering. They have a friendly receptionist and the dentist is very thorough, explaining everything at every step, doing x-rays, etc. My sister, gran, auntie and uncle have all moved to different practices as well after similar problems and poor treatment here. If you value your teeth/health and donā€™t want to be verbally attacked by a rude receptionist then go elsewhere!!!

As a family we had been patients at Orchard Park for many years. I was the first to leave several years ago, I felt the dentistry was good but the hygiene of some of the clinics was lacking. I left and joined a different practice. My wife decided to stay at the practice with our kids as it was familiar. As the kids got older they required various treatments, some of which we were made to feel was an inconvenience to the practice. The straw that broke the camels back was when my wife tried to phone for an energy appointment, no reply on phones so she went in person and was basically told by reception staff ' we have nothing available' with no option to schedule an appointment or even going to the bother of asking my wife's name to check records. In short, after 17 yeras we have all now left orchard park dentist surgery, for the money you pay, a better service is required!!

My husband, son & I have been attending the orchard park dental practice for many years. Our dentist Laura Love and her dental nurse Taylor are just fab. Their professionalism, kindness, patience is second to none. I am a very nervous patient with a general fear of the dentist however Laura keeps me calm making sure I am ok which allows me to get the treatment that is required. She has always made sure that my son does not have the same fear as me which I am forever grateful for. I cannot recommend Laura and indeed the dental practice enough. Even in emergency situations the receptionists are kind accommodating and will make sure you are seen as soon as feasible ! Thanks to all the team šŸ˜

Laura is very professional with the nervous patient , she puts you at ease , her exceptional dental care has made a big difference with me , she has shown kindness and given me confidence to get my dental procedures carried out I would highly recommend her .

I have just called the practice and spoke with and extremely unhelpful girl with a very bad attitude. I have never spoken with her previously as she provided her name but I was told my crown coming out wasnā€™t an emergency and Iā€™d have to wait until the 30th August for an appointment, I explained to this girl I was going on holiday next Friday, she wasnā€™t interested in helping in the slightest.. I said I couldnā€™t walk around with a black hole and that is was visible, she said well the NHS donā€™t see it that way so youā€™ll just need to wait. I suggest to Management that you put this poorly mannered girl on a customer service course as her attitude is an absolute disgrace. I now need to try and find a private dentist to have this fixed. Itā€™s NOT acceptable.

My front crown fell out when I was on holiday. I can't thank the receptionist enough for giving me an appointment at short notice and to my dentist Laura and her lovely assistant Taylor who looked after me. Ps not forgetting Iona.
