Often everything and everyone has a story at the end of the day. Adnan Icel and his wife arrived to Canada as immigrants. He is an engineer. Has his own engernering firm. He had never experienced wine before. Few years ago he discovered the movie BOTTLE SHOCK. Which we recommend to every wine lover. True story by the way. Him and his wife watched it over several times. They were hooked to start experiencing wine. He started spending time at vineyards to learn about wine making. Attended many many wine seminars. Belive it or not. They bought an empty land. The rest is history. He is the sommelier and owner of the winery. He travels from Oakville where he lives to manage the winery. Besides his engineering firm. He told us it will be his retirment place. However right now he works 7 days a week. His Cabarnet Sauvignon has been noticed as among the best in the region. We were referred to his winyard from Peller Estate. Try to pass by if you are at the region. We tried 9 of his wines. Wine making is a passion. A true calling.

Such a beautiful outdoor area to sit and have some delicious wines - their Arrin red wine was just fantastic. Plus the company of adorable Lulu made it perfect!

My partner and I had a lovely wine tasting experience here. The staff were exceptionally kind and friendly, and the wines were delicious. A highlight of the experience was our adorable wine tasting companion: a 6-month old golden retriever puppy. Would definitely go back.

By far the friendliest winery we visited and the options were flavorful and light! We bought several bottles and the vintners even signed a few as a momento they were really fun and Simba the winery dog was wonderful. I cannot wait to go back again

It was ok. Our server was nice and the red wine is always good quality, but it was a little cool outside today and for some reason we still had to do our tasting outside. We paid extra for the reserve wines which were good, but no credit for any wines bought, the pours were all standard bare minimum, and the experience overall just ok. We know what we like here and the wines are good, but a bit overpriced and the wine tasting experience not worth it. I'd order online in the future and not return in person.

We pre-booked here for a girls’ weekend. Unfortunately, our experience was not great. The staff was abrasive and forced us all to order the same wine because it was β€œeasier” for them. So many great options in NOTL, so many far better options with much friendlier, accommodating staff. We would not return.

Lovely small winery with welcoming staff. Try the Arinna Red Blend, it's a complex and interesting with every sip. For a better experience during COVID, be sure to make a reservation for tastings.

This is a hidden gem! We have been to the Niagara region several times and have tried over 30 wineries and this is the best! Their red wines are comparable to very good European wines, the best around for sure (and I have tried over 1500 labels..). Above all, the owners are super friendly and you will get a unique experience. Their dog Simba is so cute and will make your visit even more special. Make sure to visit this place!

We decided to stop at Icellars on our way back to the hotel after visiting a few other wineries. So glad we did, the wine was exceptional. The 2 men working were very busy but gave great service and were very kind. They offered different types of grapes than the more common in the area which was amazing to try. My favourite was the Arinna blend but the syrah and cab Franc were exceptional. They were a little higher in bottle price point but well worth the investment. Will be recommending Icellars to my friends and family.

I visited this winery today with 3 friends and we had a great time. We were lucky to be served by one of the owners, Adnan, and were able to learn so much about the wine and estate. Their Cabernet Franc RosΓ©, Pinot Noir, and Arinna red were my favourites. 10/10 experience, would recommend a visit here - a must try if you’re a red drinker. Thank you, Adnan!

Fairly new winery, recommended by another local, new spot. We rushed there, arrived 5min before closing and got the full service tasting without feeling rushed at all. Some nice wines (we bought two whites) and a quaint location, that doesn't appear to be that well known yet.

Icellars, is a top tier winery located just outside the downtown core of Niagara On The Lake. Adnan and Elif, the owners, are producing some of the best wine in the region and probably Canada. I have been an advocate of Icellars for 10 years. And there is good reason for this. Their wine is produced with love and attention and it clearly shows within their varietal offerings of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cab Franc. An expression of terroir is noticeable in my favourites, like their Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon. These wines can be enjoyed with food or without, which I find a major plus for a wino like myself. I believe all wines see oak, even one of the Rose's saw some barrel time, interesting. They also have selection of ice wine's and there is even a new sparkling wine which I didn't get around to tasting but I look forward to getting to on the next visit. Conclusion: Stop at Icellars Winery and be part of the people in the know, who know great wine.

What a fantastic winery - great people, great wines, and Simba the dog is such a friendly dog, he might be worth the visit alone.

Literally in my top three of best wineries in the region. A true testament to how to make incredible red wines. Their reserve cab sauv is unbelievable. I'm actually planning on bringing my dog there today. Did I mention they're dog friendly too?

I have been to over 10 wineries in Niagara but this winery hit me differently! I love how this place is so authentic homie and cozy. They have the cutest puppy called Lu Lu. She will make sure to greet & welcome you so if that bothers you then simply dont go there! Having her at the place made our day and if you go there know that she will keep coming back under your table for more love & pets! The hostess was amazing ! I and my friends had the best time ever here! We went there to celebrate my birthday and cant wait to go back there and see Lu Lu again πŸ’•πŸ₯Ί

The winery dog was an absolute addition to what I would call as the best red wine Ive had in Niagara region, spent that the last 2 weeks and over 20+ wineries I was giving up on finding good reds. Absolutely killed and will be back!

What an adorable summer patio! The wine tasting experience was smooth and Tolga was very knowledgeable about the wines. Definitely try the rose for a perfect summer sip! The owners are very sweet and go above and beyond to ensure a wonderful experience! We were hungry during our tasting and though they did not have food available to order, they did provide us with some complimentary homemade pizza that the family was having for lunch which was sooooooo good and very much appreciated! Would definitely visit again! :)

Wonderful wines but was very disapointed with their tasting fee policy. Very expensive. All other wineries I have been to have waived the tasting fee if you buy wine from them. Here, I was charged the fee, minus $5. This was very insulting, especially since I spent $230 on 4 bottles of wine. Love the wine, but not sure I will ever go back. Thank you for your feedback. I can confirm neither myself nor the people in my party received the proper credit of $5 per bottle. We only received a $5 credit per person. 2 of us who purchased 4 and 5 bottle each, paid a 10 dollar tasting fee. Both of us each bought 2 bottles of your premium wine.

Great wines at this winery! They have wonderful full bodied reds and very interesting whites! Smaller Winery that packs a punch! Went on a quieter day, and met the owner, who was incredible and shared his passion for wine! I would recommend this winery to anyone, especially if you like wines, smaller wineries, and DOGS, Simba was the best winery dog yet!

First time Icellars. Its a small winery with a personal touch. Due to covid, they've moved their wine tasting outside. While we were sitting enjoying our wine tasting, the owner came out and chatted with us about his wines. And the lady at the wine tasting told us how they hand corked and waxed each bottle of ice wine. Very interesting.

This winery has always been a favourite of ours! The family is so welcoming and honestly Andrew Kim, if you have issue with the Ontario Government’s rules, then please do NOT take this out on the lovely owners. I’m sorry you didn’t take the time to report your COVID vaccinations to your local public health unit, who would be happy to issue a valid QR code for your US vaccines. Do not give this winery one star based on your lack of planning! We had a wonderful time and their wines are excellent! Can’t wait to come back again soon!

The team was able to accommodate us on short notice. The area was much quieter and busy then many of the other wineries we experienced. The grounds were beautiful, the wine was great, the resident golden retriever is super friendly and an added bonus.

My husband is so passionate about his wines and the traditional style of winemaking. IceCellars is one of his few favourites here in NoTL, because of high quality of the wines and the care of selecting the grapes!

We visit the Niagara on the Lake region 3 or 4 times a year to visit a number of wineries. We have visited Icellars in the past for wine tasting (pre-covid). We were a party of six for this visit – no reservation required. Flights of wine were ordered – very good. The service was very good. We will be back.

This place was so cute and every wine we tasted was utterly fantastic. The only way the experience could have been better was if we had thought to visit in the summer or early fall. It is owned and operated by the cutest couple, and the whole experience was unpretentious and delightful. I recommend going with others and getting different flights so you can all taste the wide selection, and make sure to grab a bottle of your new favourite wine on your way out!!

Awesome winery with great tastings, and a large selection of reds. Relatively new, only being open for three years.

  • 5/5 Kim D. 3 years ago on Google
This winery is producing quality red wine that has the characterists of those from a much warmer climate. Ripe red fruits and hot, but done so with no gimmicks, just taking the gamble of ripening their fruit longer.
