I am writing this final updated review to remind people how terrible the complex is. I lived there more than two years and I am so happy I have finally moved out. The area has very few options so they charge you what they want. 1) Visitor parking exists but most of the time, they are full! 2) They don't deal with noises and loud neighbors. You have to deal yourself. Loud cars/ motorcycles and no mindfulness of others. 3) They increase rent almost 10% every year 4) They will charge you for carpet cleaning, general cleaning and painting fees when you move out, and you will end up owing more than security deposit. Previous review: They will attract you with low rent when you move in but they increase rent so much every year. It's an old apartment complex. You will end up paying more than their new tenants. AVOID!

Peaceful and decent community with 1 & 2 bedroom apartments. The community has a fitness center, multiple pool areas and playgrounds. The community maintenance is very good. It's also a decent option for families with kids. I would totally recommend these apartments.

Let's be honest. It's one of the cheapest, if not the cheapest in town. If it wasn't I'd give 1 star. That's the best part of this place. Edit: Since the review they fixed my doors...and then we got a huge leak in our wall. It's been leaking sewer water into my kids room for 6 days now, and offered to upgrade security. Roaches are way worse. Move in: Moving in we kept on getting delayed dates. I was suspicious they were hiding things. Upon move in I found out I was right. They rushed me to sign the paperwork as it needed to be done same day, and was all very tense. And promises made were not kept. The Pricing Some of the best in town. On move in they told me water, trash, sewer, and gas were included as the units aren't metered. They lied. They have an equation that basically averages out how many people live per meter, and charge based on that. I called in to complain. The lady in the office said the price wasn't a big deal as it's only $100 or less...but my unit is often $200 or more. This month it's $185. I also protested the $35 parking fee, which they waived...and then added it back on after the first month. Laundry costs me around $100 a month on top, and the machines are broken or closed like 30% of the time. It's cool that it takes credit cards though! Amenities It's cool that they have a club house/office...except it's usually closed. The pool is full of pee and you have to clean it yourself. The park is okay. The gym is fine but can be super crowded. Community Hope you are a night owl! Neighbors stay up LATE and are loud. Especially on holidays. They did fireworks so big it shook the walls until around 3am on July 4th. There's constant car alarms going off. Neighbors run and scream until 4 AM sometimes. I don't always lock my front door. I should though. Seems like every time I forget to lock the door someone opens it. Once I was sleeping on my couch and it happened at 4am right next to me. No idea if it's on accident but they let my dogs out twice. It doesn't feel super safe in that regard. I'm just glad I've been home every time. I got a security set up to be safe. The "Garage" parking spots are just cover. They come with a little bit of storage space but the spots are so close together it's almost impossible to get my kids in the car, and door dings seem inevitable. The Unit Again they had to keep delaying my move in date to "fix stuff." Really what they did was paint over stuff. Under the sink is totally rotted out. There's a serious mold issue in the bathroom they painted over and the fan doesn't work properly, so I have to get in there with mold cleaner around once a week. The toilet was crooked, so we had that fixed...and it works great for my son and wife... Keep in mind I'm a huge man. 5"4 and 150 lbs. Basically every time I poop I need to use a plunger. Maintenance won't fix it as it "works when they check it." The power was super messed up when we moved in. They fixed it eventually but we had horribly flickering lights for a long time. The doors don't close right. The AC rocks...but all the windows are single pane. Water pressure is really high, but hot water isn't guaranteed. Pests Did I mention I used to be licensed for pest control? The neighbors all leave their trash on their front doors? No idea why. I think that's a major reason I have found rat droppings in my unit. Haven't caught any live ones...but they are around. We've seen both German Roaches in the kitchen and American roaches coming from the bathroom pipes more than once. Ive never had roaches in my life. My best guess is they come from the neighbors. Back Yard I moved here because I have dogs. The back yard is spacious which is awesome...except they have these huge annoying pine trees. I have to remove around 3-6 buckets of pine needles and pollen every week from the back yard. And my god the allergies the tree causes. Then to make matters worse the back yard is graded improperly. All the water runs towards the building, so I can't even power wash or hose the back yard down. It just runs back towards our rooms.

The parking situation is terrible. I hope you don't have friends because there's never any extra parking and often random people steal your assigned parking. Then there's the homeless people who come in during the day while you're at work, steal your packages and leave empty booze bottles in the bushes. There's a few families that completely monopolize the laundry room because they're running a laundry washing business in the apartments machines. I'm sorry hun, no one person does 25 loads of laundry per day of their own clothes. I wouldn't care except that literally no one else can wash except at 2AM. There's also the fact that the staff for the complex usually don't pick up the office phone or are just out, so if you need help with anything you're out of luck. We also had neighbors that were constantly high and had the police over 3 times a week for their fist fights and screaming. To be fair that's not entirely the complex's fault. The one upside is that the guys who do repair work are great and fast, but you have to make sure you put in a ticket. The pool looked like a swamp for months until we submitted a ticket.

Josh from the community relations team is awesome! He has been exceptional at helping my small family feel welcomed at our new home. He is always professional, understanding, and very insightful when presented with questions about the complex. Josh has made my renting experience 100x better.

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with a leasing office agent Josh Montalvan at Hillcrest park, and I must say that my experience was very good. The level of service and assistance I received during our call exceeded my expectations. It was a complete turnaround from my previous interactions with the leasing office management, who was very unhelpful, and unresponsive. In contrast, my previous experiences with the leasing office management were disheartening. Their lack of responsiveness and dismissive attitude made me question my decision to consider renting from this property.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Victoria Franco and I cannot speak highly enough of my experience. From start to finish, Victoria was attentive, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. She took the time to understand my needs and she always responded promptly to my questions. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with the Victoria and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to rent at Hillcrest Park Apartments
