As a healthcare provider myself I am disappointed at the lack of empathy this office staff displayed toward my acute and devastating life experience that left me without insurance coverage. I requested a refill for my antidepressant, which I have been taking for 5 years - since my battle with cancer. My request was both sent via my portal and 3 phone calls. Ultimately, my refill was declined. That begin a debacle of insensitive, condescending, and non compassionate interactions with staff members. I was denied a refill until I had a visit with my MD - when I explained that I would not have insurance until next month but needed my medication... I was told ..make a payment plan ! This office will be the last place I step foot ever again. Compassion does not begin there -

Dr Michelle Emi of UCLA Westlake VIllage is absolutely the most unprofessional, disrespectful doctor I have encountered. She has no respect for her patients' time and many of us have to wait over one hour - and over one and a half hours in 2 of my visits. She appears to want more income because she schedules far too many patients to be seen in the time she allocates.. Her office uses a Call Center, so after you wait on hold for 10 minutes, you get someone who has no idea what is going on in the office - whether it be scheduling or billing. You then have to wait on hold again while the Call Center finds someone from the office to deal with you. They also have made mistakes in scheduling and billing.

I am so sad I have to give such a low review but I am deeply saddened about this entire situation and I don't think I am going to set foot in a UCLA facility, although my doctor was great. Firstly for an anual exam the bill came back to 537$ Secondly, I cannot get this guys to take their money from my insurance. Mind you, I have 2 insurances and they do not check the second insurance (which is actually the primary one and for which I already reached the deductible ) in order to get their bill pay.

I went in for a physical in January. I gave them my insurance card, informing them that I had a new "Obamacare" plan and that my physical was free. They verified my insurance, I saw the doctor, and they have been trying to collect money from me ever since. First they tried to get $650 from me and now they are trying to get $405 from me. They verified my insurance, I told them it was free they decided not to take Covered California - apparently after my visit but before they billed me and are illegally trying to collect on care that was free when it was rendered! Outrageous! Now the office manager is "in meetings all day" when I call, so I'm doing what I have to in order to straighten this out. The Medical Board and Insurance Commission are next on my list. Oh, and my doctor NEVER calls me back, no matter how many messages I leave or even if I say it's regarding my medications. She was a great doctor before she went back to UCLA.

I am writing this review before setting foot in the facility. My doctor referred me to the podiatrist at this site. I made an appointment and then tried to find out how much I would be billed for the visit. 10 phone calls and an hour or two of wait time later and I still have no answer.

This was my first visit to a UCLA Medical Center and was very impressed with my new doctor, Dr. Heitmann, and the personalized service by all of the staff. This is a busy place, meaning there are lots of patients coming and going, but that did not stop the doctor from taking the time to talk to me, thoroughly understand my situation, and take the appropriate steps from there. I am also impressed with the follow-through and responsiveness of the staff and particularly the doctor's medical assistant.

UCLA Medical Center is considered a hospital for their fees. Beware! I was very excited to find a local endocrinologist at UCLA Medical Center in Thousand Oaks. I waited two months to see the doctor only to find out that she had left the practice and I was seeing another doctor. When I arrived, I was happy to see a receptionist that worked at my primary physician's office in the past. She assured me that they take my insurance and there would be no problem. Very shortly after my visit I received my explanation of benefits and I saw that the doctor received three times the amount that I normally pay for an office visit; then one week later I saw an exorbitant amount billed for blood work which was five times the normal amount. Through conversations with their billing office it was pointed out that all doctors are hospital doctors and they get hospital doctor fees, and that the blood work is considered an out patient service. Over $750 for an office visit. Please let Thousand Oaks residents know they are paying hospital rates when they visit UCLA Medical Center in Thousand Oaks.

The absolute worst. While the office staff is friendly and helpful, the medical service is awful. The doctor injured me during a routine test and then told me it was my fault because of my age. Then they tried to charge me for an office visit instead of my physical because they claimed we discussed a chronic illness, but I don't have a chronic illness, or any illness at all.

My poor rating of UCLA Health doesn't have to do with medical care I received, I want to be clear about this. My rating has to do with my negative experience with UCLA administration regarding communication with prospective patients. I have been trying to contact UCLA Health in Westlake Village/Conejo Valley area for 2 weeks now to see about making an appointment with a specialty MD. I have used the 3 forms of communication with administration to try and speak/communicate with someone; email, the text/chat option, and leaving a voicemail. As I write this review I have yet to hear from UCLA Health in Conejo Valley. I have therefore given up. What is the point of implementing various options to communicate with potential patients if there's no follow-up by UCLA health administration ? I come from a UCLA family, and attended UCLA, but I am very disappointed in this experience.

Stay far away from all UCLA Health facilities. As numerous other reviews note, they are profit driven only. Their billing department is either incredibly incompetent or is acting maliciously to swindle as many patients as possible. My $0 annual wellness check became a $600 visit because I told my doctor that I have asthma during the visit, and they coded the entire visit as a diagnosis of a new condition. I have been fighting UCLA Health on this for seven months now. I will never, ever return. Do yourself a favor, save yourself the increase to your blood pressure, find a facility that is focused on healthcare not thievery.

Have had a good experience being a patient at UCLA Westlake village, like that I can see my test results at My chart app. I have a part in my Healthcare knowing what's going on.

This is a great location, it's central to everything you need, it's right next to the freeway. I like how my body feels after getting therapy here. The therapists are the very best and the therapies they provide actually do work. Would highly recommend.
