Great outdoors, garden and scenery. VERY poor service everywhere, and staff appear quite clueless about anything (orders, directions, you name it). Additionally, it is essentially a massive kids club with no peace and quiet aside from the golf courses. Room looked worn out and not worth the price. The food was average as well as very expensive. My partner had also booked an activity, which the hotel forgot about, the instructor did not show up. In my opinion, it is not worth 5 stars and is ridiculously overpriced for what it’s worth. If you’re a family, it’s probably a great place, but not for couples or adults.

Stunning with such beautiful grounds! We went to the Glasshouse to eat but had a wander around the facilities which are vast! The attention to detail is very impressive! Art work is so unique & creates a beautiful place to visit! The food was amazing, staff attentive, it so well worth a visit especially for a special occasion!

Spent a night here for my birthday and loved every minute. The service, the food, the room, the facilities, the grounds were all gorgeous and everything felt luxe. We were made to feel very welcome with our kids during our stay, which made it extra relaxing and enjoyable. The temperature of the pools was perfect, the bed was so comfortable and the room was quiet, calm, with a big balcony to enjoy the view of the gardens and it felt like a lovely place to be when we weren’t enjoy the spa, the pools or the gardens. There was loads to explore within the grounds and our kids loved the games room, crafting cottage and the amazing event breakfast. Can’t wait to return! Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so memorable.

Beautiful setting, fantastic rooms and great service. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, and we loved the spa! This was our first time travelling with a baby and the hotel did everything to make that easier - providing a cot, a baby bath, helping us carry the baby gym... Quite pricey, but made for a very relaxing long weekend.

Amazing experience Food was certainly the highlight. Waiting and bar staff were helpful, tentative and friendly. The room was lovely, clean and had everything we needed. Service always amazing during out stay. Really enjoyed the treatments. Spa staff were lovely. A shame not all facilities were available but I'm sure the upgrade will be worth it. Only recommendation; Would have liked more filtered cold water stations available to top up my bottle in areas around the main hotel. However, we are heading home fully relaxed and looking forward to our next visit.

Beautiful location, stunning grounds and incredible facilities. The deluxe room was very dated and dark and in need of modernisation in our opinion (but that was minor). The outdoor cinema was included in our stay and was one of the highlights for the whole family. The staff especially Sally Humphrey front of house manager(a credit to the hotel) who went over and above to make sure we had the best possible stay. Herself and Martin gave us the warmest of welcomes and would be one of the reasons that we would choose to go back to The Grove. Thank you both.

I booked a stay to celebrate my husbands birthday. The grounds and the hotel are impeccable, however upon check out I had forgotten my jewellery box in the room and for my surprise, these were never reported to lost and found by the housekeeping staff. You wouldn’t expect to get robbed by a 5 star hotel and even though I was the one who forgot the jewellery behind, you’d expect that staff who works in hospitality in such well renowned hotel, would have it reported and not just put it in their pocket. I’ve spoken to numerous members of staff, and although they said they did everything within their power to investigate, I never even received an apology on behalf of the hotel. It’s obvious that whoever stole it, would never come forward and admit as they’d face potential police charges and losing their job. The hotel should do more to guarantee that all staff working there is honest and guests can feel safe leaving their belongings in the room. The jewellery I lost was expensive and had sentimental meaning for me and the hotel did nothing to try and compensate me which I think was really cheap and disrespectful. Although the rest of our stay was great, this experience left me feel betrayed. Would I recommend it - sure! Just make sure you keep all your belongings in a safe and do not leave anything behind as you’d never see it again! P.S. the lady at breakfast was kind of rude too saying I haven’t filled my plate enough and I should go for more as it’s a free buffet! It was said in a sarcastic way and I think she should have kept her opinion to herself!

My sisters and my mum took me here for my birthday and what can I say...it was spectacular. We went for a buffet lunch and the variety was awesome. We took a walk around the grounds which were really beautiful before chilling in the lounge area. Price point was appropriate for such opulent dinning. Parking was no problem and the vibe was really chilled no stuffy business.

I have just finished working on an event where we took over the whole hotel. I think it is the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Every member of staff was incredible and I mean every single staff member. They were extremely helpful with no request to big. They are yes people and made a hard event seem easy. It was also great to see how much they enjoy working with each other and even during the most stressful moments their team work shone through. I hope to be lucky enough to be working on another event here.

Absolutely an amazing place to visit. The grounds are so well designed and maintained that it has a lasting impact that will draw you back and again. With the sun shining, the beautifuly manicured lawns and carefully planted shrubs, flowers and historic trees will keep your mind actively absorbing positive thoughts well and truly long after you leave!

Really enjoyed our stay at the grove - brilliant spa, breakfast and the staff made it very relaxing with our five month old baby. The only let down was the meal at the bar before we left - I was charged £7 for a bowl of white rice. I don’t mind paying extra but it felt a bit greedy to charge so much for something so basic that I would have expected them to have included in a bento box. So left feeling pretty disappointed.

Only went there to play golf. Can’t discuss rooms! Had breakfast in stables. It was average and very expensive. Food is good but does not warrant such a high price! I get it they charge a premium. The service at the club house is impeccable and everything is available in the pro shop. Staff have a satisfying can do attitude though slightly with an arrogance. Nothing is reasonably priced but everything is impeccable. In comparison with other superior golf clubs in the country and Scotland, you pay a premium for round without the views you may enjoy in other courses! Everything is manicured to the highest standard and catered for a great experience. Driving range has everything you need. Overall superb course ( less the views) and service (at a premium) and a great experience all round. My only let down was that they don’t have a hotel van service to bring people without cars to the near by train station! Almost impossible to get any Ubers unless you pay their incredible high arranged cab service ! For the course, I highly recommend a round.

Made a reservation at the glass house which has several different food stations: Asian, cold meats/cheese, grill, seafood, carving (roast), Italian. Luxury buffet style where you can keep going back for me. Restaurant is luxurious and service of the highest quality. It's expensive but food is of the best quality.

Visited for a long weekend, specifically as a birthday treat, and for the Buffet. You get a two hour slot for it, so there's plenty of time to sample everything. The house itself is an amazing location, out in country grounds, surrounded by hedges and ponds etc. You can spend days wandering the countryside. Great spa, great decor, great bar. It's pricey, but it's definitely in the "experience category" over "just a normal hotel"

Didn't have a room just a spa day. An excellent massage from Celine, I think that was the name. Lunch menu at the spa a little restricted probably because its healthy. Anyway everything's done with class.

Absolutely lovely place to go for a drink. We went on a December day and it was so gorgeously decorated and was a wonderful day to get into the Christmas spirit. The staff here are exceptional and made my mum's day when they offered freshly made mince pies.

Went for cloud 9 afternoon tea. Great selection of savoury and sweet treats, who would have thought that a salmon scotch egg would taste sooo good. Sweet treats beautifully presented in a suitcase of foliage, with an edible chocolate flower pot. Luckily the sun came out so was a fantastic afternoon in a hot air balloon setting.

Great location, really good service. Attended a business event. The grounds are beautiful we had a tour by the head gardener Tash. Very knowledge and the gardens are a credit to her. The catering was excellent and the room was again excellent with some nice touches. Slippers and robe for the spar if you needed it. Would definitely go agafor a more romantic reason. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding.

I only wandered around the grounds to see what was on offer. The place is kept immaculate with woodland walks and a pool and beach sauna and outdoor eating areas that are very classy. At about £500 for the cheapest room a day you'd hope it would be perfect.

  • 5/5 Steven S. 8 months ago on Google
Attended a function here and the venue was magnificent. Exceptional outside area and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Golf course on the grounds and the drive up is picturesque. Didn't stay over and the food was from an outside caterer so cannot make any comment on those

Afternoon tea in a mock hot air balloon was stunning! The savoury food was great, the tea selection was nice, the desserts were amazing and the service was exceptional. Even though the weather took a turn while we were there, staff made sure we were looked after, offering blankets and setting us up with umbrellas. We were given the choice to move somewhere sheltered but the spot was so perfect that we stuck it out. Highly recommend if you can find any bookings left!

We stayed at this fabulous hotel for the first time over Christmas in The Hyde Suite which we booked through ‘Leading Hotels of the World’. The suite was beautiful and spotlessly clean and even had a Christmas tree in the sitting room…as I said to my husband it was ‘from home to home’. We always book a suite and this was definitely up there amongst the top in terms of decor and amenities. The complimentary gifts were very generous which is unusual, since Covid we have found most hotels have cut back noticeably in the last couple of years, not the case here. The food was consistently good (the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had). The Glasshouse buffet was amazing and lived up to its reputation (we saw a TV programme some time ago where it was mentioned as being amongst the best buffets of the world). There are quite a few organised activities and it was nice to be able to stroll around the extensive grounds. All the staff are very friendly which really made our stay a positive one…Najalee, Soad and Rehan were excellent and a real asset to the hotel. We will definitely be visiting again…absolutely loved everything about this hotel.

Friend had a buffet at their Glasshouse after their wedding registration. Staff are attentive and service is immaculate. Beautiful settings, with the most lovely landscaping. Buffet spread has a big selection, and would rate 7/10 for taste. A lovely evening spent.

We celebrated our anniversary here. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, and they were very helpful and friendly. The reception, waiting staff and house keeping staff all made our stay special. Thank you 🙂. The hotel is beautifully kept, the gardens and grounds are stunning, the food at the restaurants is great too. The walled garden is a highlight, the spa and treatment rooms are also excellent. We felt that for the price we paid, that our room was beginning to look a little tired. It was otherwise a big bright room, with big windows and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom and shower were very good, and the bathtub was huge. The view of the garden from the 'garden view' room was an obstructed view which was not made clear at booking. There is a high wall on the balcony that means if you're sitting in the room, you can only see the tops of the trees. We enjoyed our stay enormously and would return

Had a wonderful evening at The Grove. We arrived early to take some photos, splendid grounds with well maintained gardens, shrubbery, water features, etc. Food was delicious as usual and the array is well thought of and in abundance, a tad salty for me. Desserts were beautiful and tasty. Angel served our table and she was very polite, courteous and attentive. Thank you.

The Grove is such a beautiful venue and every time we go we have a lovely time. Staff are delightful and the food is impeccable. Drinks are great and I really enjoyed my Hendricks & Fever Tree tonic's this evening. The grounds are so beautiful to walk around and the Stables bar is a great place to grab a few drinks and have some bar food with a great atmosphere. We are yet to try the spa but that is next on our list to try as it looks fantastic.

For over 20 years plus The Grove (Glass House) still has its wow factor. Spotlessly clean, stunning decor throughout, excellent service and the food was out of this world. In my opinion, worth every penny. A buzzing atmosphere of groups young and old all enjoying themselves. Time well spent.

We stayed in the Grove for a weekend and had amazing time, everything was top staff and service, room and grounds of hotel. Food was amazing, spa treatments were excellent. The therapists were very nice, professional and very good at their job. Highly recommended using the spa facilities. Well done to everyone who made our weekend memorable and thank you, we're looking forward to come back one day ☺️☺️

Went there for a family 👪 birthday event. The place was splendid if a trifle expensive. Like £23.00 plus for 2 shorts and the addition of a service charge!!! Really ? Atmosphere was amazing as was the staff. A lovely 😍 experience with great family celebrating 🍾 a transition. We spent over 4 hours drinking 🍸 wine and eating lots. Would recommend.

The restaurant was absolutely lovely. We had a lovely waitress who was really friendly and helpful. Food was amazing - lots of choices (especially for me as a vegetarian). Dessert counter was phenomenal. Quite pricey, but worth it.

It is its own destination. Place is just stunning. The gardens are a delight, the staff are super friendly and helpful. It's sumptuous, quirky, they had outdoor cinema when I went. What more could you ask. The lounges are just fabulous, each one more gorgeous than the last-I didn't want to leave!!!!

We provided the sound system for our friend's memorial service in the Potting Shed yesterday. Every team member we met went out of their way to help us... from the moment we arrived until we left. Nothing was too much trouble. Lovely sincere people. The best ever...thank you so much. The food was excellent too. Peter

The Legendary Glasshouse at the Grove, what a great place to take your partner, friends or even have an office lunch, dinner or afternoon tea. The food is a buffet yes but not what many associate with buffets, this is a high end buffet with great selection of food from around the world cooked to perfection. And as good as the food is the service is even better, when we sat down waiting staff called Diane came over and immediately introduced themselves and that they would take care of us. This is exactly what they did, and when drinks were delivered late Diane got more upset for us. Diane was absolutely on as were all the other staff who provide the absolute best customer service, polite and genuine conversations. This a definate recommendation for those that are foodies and love a great experience. Various live counters included, Italian pizza and pasta, great and tasty roasts with sirloin and desserts to die for with a fondue chocolate fountain to top it off. The bathrooms are immaculate and self contained with all the amenities you could need. The views and drive through grounds of the Grove were beautiful and picturesque. Put The Grove on your list of must visit dining, you will not be disappointed.

We had afternoon tea here today, and it was excellent. The food is fantastic and just keeps coming if you want more, along with endless cups of coffee or tea. The service from the person who looked after us was excellent. Always there at the right time. There was even a harp being played while we were eating. My wife had such a good time she is returning next month with her mother and sister.

I can’t speak highly enough about The Grove and can’t say one negative thing about our experience. We were treated with the utmost respect and honor while coming and going during our stay. Whatever you desire in a respectful way, the Grove will accommodate to the best of their abilities!!! While on the grounds you can golf, hike, run, sightsee, archery, soccer, swim, get a amazing message…..literally the list goes on. The views are breathtaking! There’s 300 acres of live beauty and trees that are decades old. Our room was beautifully designed and is prepared for you according to the time of day. Running and operating at a high level at which we saw takes a strong leadership team. I was highly impressed with the staff’s level of attention to detail.

Mixed review. The Potting Shed restaurant serving Italian themed food was fantastic, food and service was excellent. I'd give that 5 stars. However, beforehand we started in the main bar. What a joke, they only had 2 people behind the bar and hundreds of people to serve. We waited well over half an hour for our drinks to be delivered, we thought we would be late for our dinner reservation. We did complain and did get our drinks free, but that's not the point, the server (who looked quite senior) said there were too many people. That's not my fault, perhaps they should have told us there'd be a long wait and we could have chosen to do something else. Unfortunately after dinner we decided to go back for a night cap, bad mistake. Nowhere near the number of people but it still took a good 20 minutes. In fact we could see our drinks just sitting there. We went to get them ourselves and only then did someone rush to deliver them. And they had the gall to charge us for service. Get your act together. We all know there is a shortage of staff, but this was ridiculous. Not a good experience for an anniversary night out.

The food was wonderful, so much so that we extended our meetings and had dinner ! The modern opulence was captivating :-) The Grounds were breathtaking. The whole hotel blew mw away and I visit many hotels as I host events, retreats and workcations. My visit and experience was exceptional. Service: from arrival, during and all of the way through - very attentive and knowledgeable; then in the both restaurants - always there and always so kind. I saw a review about young staff and on the contrary, ALL of the staff irrespective of age/gender were friendly, attentive, provided recommendations. The chef was amazing and offered a cute dessert adjustment and finally a special thanks and mention to staff members Alana and Eleanor who went above and beyond❤️ Myself and my team will be back !!

I love this place! It’s nice and fancy, have all the facilities one needs. The food and drinks are on a level, but the staff are so arrogant, rude and moody! Please work on it! Only the cleaning lady with the gray curly hair in the spa in the ladies changing room was nice! She providers an amazing customer service!! It’s a bit pricy but is ok. One more thing very, very important!!!! The receptionist are not confidential!!!! Ones went there with my friends and my boyfriend got suspicious I didn’t take him with me, he call the reception and they told him with who I was, what I was wearing, he had even the bill of what I had consumed!!! That’s was a cherry on top. That is my experience and I still like it. You try and share your opinion. All the best!

Location is 5 * plus. Lounge area is again 5* plus. Decor, cleanliness, etc let you know this is an impressive location. Bar staff know their drinks, you won’t be disappointed. Downside is the young staff who seem willing but come across confused and eager to play on their phones. Be prepared to wait and continually remind staff of your order. The views across the golf course are excellent and exploring the manicured gardens is great. If they get the service right this place is perfect.

I never write the reviews, but this stay was exceptional. First and utmost - The Service: on arrival - very attentive and knowledgeable; then in the both restaurants - always there and always so kind, and finally - Post booking..! I have forgotten two items of clothes in the room, and without any hustle I received them by post within just 2 days after check-in. I was very impressed ! In addition THE GROVE have the best conditions for small kids: a lot of comfortable indoor and outdoor play space; free popcorn and even free face-painting all weekend! Amazing hotel for parents!

  • 5/5 Babita S. 11 months ago on Google
Celebrated a birthday here. Staff are extremely attentive and at hand to explain the dishes. The food was good, but for a 5 star hotel it lacked a little something extra. I would like to go back and try the other places.

Beautiful place, stunning scenery however.... So overpriced . Glass house for three of us ( buffet ) £300 + service charge too high considering you help yourself!! Very pleasant but you certainly pay for it.
