Wonderful place to walk around and lots of things happening on the common. During summer there are cricket matches. The tree truck climbing frame can be found in the middle of the common hidden away on the tall trees. There is also other hidden gems like a play house made from wood and a beautiful wooden owl craving chair in the middle of a camp fire circle.

Fantastic mix of woodland and golf course with easy parking and great for walking the dogs, particularly in the warmer weather when the tree cover us welcome

Wonderful place to wander, with or without a dog! Located on the A404 on your left as you are coming out of Rickmansworth towards Amersham on one side and just a few hundred yards from Chorleywood Metropolitan and Chiltern Line station on the other, also nestled on the end of the lovely Chorleywood Village and amazingly just a few hundred yards away from junction 18 of the M25, this extensive and open common is a great spot to stretch out from the day to day hustle and bustle of the nearby suburbia. With plenty of trees and woodland areas, and a pond, there is enough cover and variation to get some dappled shade in the hot summer days and mix up your walks. There are bridleways to follow that give you a chance to see horses being ridden and some amazing views. On occasion, there are little hamlets of country cottages and traditional terraced properties and these even include a couple of pubs. All in all a great place to visit and you can drop down into the village itself afterwards, where you’ll find plenty of places to eat and get a coffee. I keep coming back for more and all that is missing for me is the dog and, who knows, that may even get corrected sooner or later!

I love this common. Big enough for a reasonable walk. Hidden natural play areas for kids and hidden nature sculptures on trees etc. The cricket pavilion gas now got a dog friendly cafe which was thd main thing the common lacked. Good parking facilties on all 4 sides of the common. Within easy walking distance of Chorleywood Tube Station

Always a pleasure to come and walk here. Perimeter walk is about 2 miles if you really stick to the perimeter! Lots of space to wander, woodland sections, ponds, golf course, plenty of free parking at various locations. Bring a picnic for a summer al fresco meal!

Great place for picnics, walks for all ages and capabilities. Extensive walking on the common and across the road down into the Chess Valley. Free parking plus Metropolitan line station within walking distance.

Great place to go walking with the dog or hiking with friends, unfortunately looks a bit worn down after a busy dry summer. Still great fun and lots of shade if needed.

Great for a short stroll or walking your dog. Plenty of car parking nearby and a short walk from the High Street. Watch out for golfers as you enjoy the old Forest growth and wildlife. And then stop off for a pint on the common with one of the nearby pubs.

Great place for a morning walk. It a good mixture of open fields and forest and one of my favorite ways to get to the Chess Valley Path

Good parking all around the Common. Large area to walk. One pub in the Common and three others a very short walking distance away. Chainsaw carving on a few dead and fallen trees is a great touch. Nice looking café has just opened behind the cricket clubhouse. Relaxing to sit and watch the cricket on a weekend too.
