I visited this place because my friend said how bad it is and I wanted to see for myself! To say the least it’s disgusting and cruel, all of the tanks are filthy and the fish are very badly kept. The workers are sat at the front doing nothing so they clearly don’t care for the livestock :( I thought the unkept tanks were bad in the freshwater section until I saw the koi in the back kept in tanks?! Their spines were bent and some had severe swim bladder issues causing them to not be able to swim! I feel a place like this shouldn’t be allowed to keep fish and sell them as they clearly don’t care for the well-being of them. SORR IT OUT

We were absolutely blown away by the service from Steve and James today. We went in looking for a way to get our pond cleaner and came out kitted out with everything we could possibly need. Steve in particular went above and beyond finding the smallest little parts, telling us how to use them all and fitting it all together for us. We can’t thank them enough, we don’t live close at all but will definitely be making the journey again for the service alone!

The shop provided free fish tank water tests before I bought fish from them, unfortunately all fish in my tank died within 10 days, including 2 fish which I had for more than 3 years. I have bought fish regularly from this shop in the last 10 years, this is the worst experience ever. I did not expect to have refound, but there is no sympathy from the staff rather than try to accuse me of doing something wrong. I believe their fish might have infections. I won't go back again and won't recommend buying fish from them till their fish quality and customer service improves.

I live about 40 mins from here so can’t come in every few days to buy food for my beardy. Instead I buy enough live food for around 2 weeks which is stored in a separate tank. Every time I’ve come here to buy food the staff have been so lovely but this time round I was served by a very rude and judgemental female. I am a first time bearded dragon mum but I get so much advice and help from others who own beardies and mine is very happy and healthy so I didn’t appreciate this females dirty looks or judgmental comments.

Great place for fish lovers .. lots of out door ponds and fountains, pond plants , pond accessories.. fishing items . Tropical fish aquariums… even some reptails

Started shopping here around a year ago and couldn't be happier with my shopping experience at world of Water (Watford). Not only are the staff polite and respectful. They also have an extensive knowledge in respect to the reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and long list of fish they stock. I particularly enjoy the reptile section, it reminds me of a very cool mini zoo. The enclosures are very well designed and catered to each individual animal which is what I look out for when buying any animal and now I have a collection of animals from World of Water because of everything just mentioned.

Yesterday I was in a panic as my fish tank was leaking. World of Water was so patient and gave me good advice. I visited the centre and the new tank was delivered. I had a follow up call this morning. I am so impressed by the outstanding customer service that I had to write this review.

Lots of parking, large shop with plenty of choice if you are looking to make an aquatic garden, they also have a great choice if you are looking to purchase an indoor aquarium, they also have a good range in fishing tackle and friendly helpful staff if you need some help or advice 👍👍🐟🐠🎣

When I visited the store recently the staff went above and beyond with their advice and helpfulness especially Steve. I would recommend 100% a visit here for any pond, aquarium or fishing purchases or advice.

I wish I could give a lower rating. I’m absolutely devastated at what has occurred due to my partner purchasing fish from this store. We have lost in total 12 fish.. 7 which we purchased less than 2weeks ago from this store. We’ve had our other 5 for nearly a year and never had issues. The individual I spoke to this morning over the phone did not care instead he had the audacity to pass the blame even though I informed him we have our fish tank serviced and all water tests were fine. I went into another store this afternoon to have the water tested and was told the water quality is perfect. Our fish are covered in white spots, which we are treating but have be told it might be too late. I’ve seen pictures within the reviews of how poorly the fish & tanks are kept and how others have also had similar issues to ours. I wasn’t asking for a refund I’m concerned we’ll lose the rest of our fish in the tank and I also wanted to raise awareness with the shop so they are aware. It is heartbreaking to be daily removing lifeless fish from our tank, I don’t want other customers experiencing this. Our 4yr old daughter is distraught at how empty her fish tank is.

I can only rate this place because of the Christmas trees. The best in a 5 miles radius. Great prices and good choice. Last throughout the season.

It's a shame I can't give a rating that's less than 1 because I'm absolutely disgusted at the state of their marine (not tropical) selection & overall marine frags & fish health. I actually felt extremely saddened looking at the tiny, lifeless, flow less tanks that the anemone's were crammed into. The 2 bubble tipped anemone's are meant to be bursting with activity, but we're colourless & drained of life. The one young gentleman we spoke to appeared to be nothing more than a drone, forced to work in a fish shop with no knowledge or expertise in Marine. If you're like us and are trying to evolve your understanding of the marine world, I'd drive a bit further out and head over to Reef Keeper near Bracknell, yes it's further, but the selection to chose from, the beautiful array of marine fish, along with the extremily friendly, knowledgeable staff warrants for a return visit time and time again.

Fantastic place. The shop is always well stocked and clean. Really good customer service. Reptile section is brilliant and the specialist (Jay) is fab and will bend over backwards for customers. Always parking. Would 100% recommend.

Lovey aquatic centre. So many beautiful fish 🐠. Only went for lots of hose and things to keep the hose on the tail. I will say that a few more smiles upon entering the store would be nice.

Visited to buy a short piece of hose and the service was excellent and very helpful. Good advice and a great range of products far more than I had realized. Worth a visit.

A large selection of fish accessories and various types of aquarium fish

Sadly, the fish here didn't seem to be very well looked after. A lot of them were dead and some looked unwell. It was a sad sight to see. There definitely needs to be a better level of animal care provided. The place stocked lots of fish equipment, which seemed good enough (I think they should just provide the fish related equipment and not sell live fish/animals). The building isn't very water tight, we visited on a rainy day and found that there was lots of water leaking through the roof...this shop needs to definitely fix the building, also either stop selling animals or provide a much better environment and a much higher level of animal care for the animals.

Gone right downhill, feels like its drifted into disrepair, it was a rainy day and the roof was leaking and smelt damp in the whole place. Used to be lovely shop, now not a patch on how it once was sorry to say

I went to look at pond plants only. Some of them were looking a bit sad in the sun. Prices only slightly higher than online though so maybe a good option unless you're after something specific. The range is reasonable but not large. Not all the space was filled though so maybe they sometimes have more stock. Not worth a making a special trip for pond plants if you're not local.

I inherited an Oase 60000 pond Filter. I needed pipe fittings and horsetail fittings. Very helpful and professional service. Took time to advise and recommend the right products. Thank you

Very disappointed. Tanks were not clean, quite a few dead fish, generally poor quality. Spacious enough and a reasonable amount of equipment on display. With a little effort Could be good. Maybe I went on a bad day but I certainly wouldn't buy livestock from here.

Having not been here for a long time it has really expanded its services and range of products. The staff could not have been more helpful. Great selection of pond pumps and accessories.

Let me start by saying im only giving 2 star because the guy who served me was really nice guy , otherwise would be 1 star. The second time I bought fish from here. From the last batch I bought some plattys and mollys and a par of dwarf gourami , to a 100l tank which was cycled already and had 6 small fish in it. All the fish were ok even the newly bought plattys and mollys were ok.Both gouramis died in second day, all the rest of the fish was fine, water was tested was fine too. I done a major waterchange waited 3 weeks checked water again and again before buying more fish. By this time my plants were grown very nicely as well everything was perfect. I went back I bought 1 beta and 1 pleco and 3 tetra. This was around 4pm. Next day around 11 am when I woke up the pleco was dead allready. The second day the beta died as well. When I bought the beta he was laying on his side. I asked the seller who was a really cool guy and he helped me if thats normal he said yes sometimes they rest like that , i tought ok I heard thag before as well should be fine.Second day the Beta died as well. That was 1 week ago.I waited with the review to see if anything will happen to the rest of my fish and maybe its my fault.Constantly checked water and was fine.Done water changes often everything should have been fine.The 3 tetra I bought are still ok. All the other fish I had are perfect. I am really sorry to say but after waiting 1 week to find out what happened Im prety sure the problem was with the fish they sold. All the fish I bought from Pets at home are perfect not even 1 have died since I started my aquarium. So if you want to buy fish for your aquarium I recommend you buy somewhere else I wouldnt recommend this shop . And by the way the fish prices at pets at home are nearly half price .

Great for tropical and ponds, marine fish was scarce

Have been coming here for a few years. however, after my last visit I won't be coming again. I bought some plants for my tropical tank, planted them up and a few days later I noticed a couple of my fish had whitespot. My fish were perfectly healthy prior to this, some I'd had for a few years. Within 5 days over half of my fish had died. I stopped buying fish from them a couple of years ago as the state of the tanks is very poor, but I thought the plants would be ok - obviously not, clearly the water is not clean enough and harbouring diseases. I will be using Hertfordshire Fisheries all the time now, I only went back to World of Water to buy plants as Herts didn't have the plants in stock I wanted.

Good variety of merchandise for the hobbyists. Got aquarium, pond and vivarium stuff for sale. Fishing gear also. Nice variety of both exotic and salt water fish and of course pond fish as well. Friendly and helpful staff. Recommend to all!!

World of water watford usedto be a great place to find aquatic bargains and used to have a good range of fish but unfortunately on my last visit the fish were basically the average you would expect from pets at home but 4-5 time the price they were only a couple of months ago. Quite disappointed as its just a waste of a journey 😕 hopefully they sort this out otherwise I'm gonna have to spend my money else where from now on.

Top knowledge from all staff, I mainly buy RO & Salt water, and the occasional (everyweek) fish/inverts! Always a pleasure & good for price! Wide variety of fish & stock.

I have to say this place is great! Always helpful. I started off tropical and now going into marine. If it wasn’t for caspian the gentleman with tash and long hair I don’t think I would of had the confidence to get where I am today! This man is so full of knowledge of tropical and marine. Every time I go in there he is always helpful and offers guidance. He is always in high demand with customers on busy days but worth the wait. But also Logan is always full of advice as well! Both are very knowledgeable so would like to take the time to say thank you to both of these gentleman. Hope your manager realises what a good team he’s got! Thanx guys Jason

I came here the other day for some live bugs for my bearded dragon. Whilst in the store I had a few other questions and all the staff were very knowledgeable about everything asked of them.
